Personally, I think he will, waiting for her to fulfill her promise to "come back." Yeah, go the way of the Ma. Clara, Cloud. Only if Aerith doesn't come back in the actual canon things. If she does, fry this again.

I think that he'd probably move on. (Just not necessarily with Tifa) Cloud is still quite young and has his whole life ahead of him. It'd be lonely to give up on love after just one time. I hope he finds a nice girl in the future, perhaps with similar traits to Aerith (although I don't think he should pursue a girl for simply sharing her personality or appearance).

Future in general- I believe Cloud will move on with some-one on earth, or re-unite with Aeris(or Zack, hehe. Fangirl moment. Y.Y) when he returns to the lifestream himself.

As for the creators deciding, no. I don't think they will ever show who Cloud actually loves in teh canon.

It would really be nice if Cloud could finally be with Aeris. If he goes to the Lifestream at his mid-20s, then it's fate. We can never tell when he'll pass away. He managed to escape many risks, yes, but there'll be one day when one of these risks causes his death.

And even though girls would follow him, he would never treat them and love them the same way as he treated and loved Aeris.

I won't be able to answer your question, but he'll probably remain single.

Seeing as just about everyone(aside from Dyne and Pres Shinra) seemed to have died in their 20s I'm gonna take a big guess and say Cloud is going to die before he gets to his 30s and reunite with Aeris in the lifestream. =P

I think he will but then again I dunno. I think he might get with someone like with someone similar to Aeris or maybe someone else that looks like Aeris. I don't think he will get with Tifa because I think Tifa will eventually move on herself and get with Barret, Reno, or someone. Then again he might get with Tifa in the future I mean it is possiable for him to love them both...

He'll be single. He seems to have grown out of his whoremones stage and he's quite well off on his own. He doesn't need someone else's problems weighing on his. He isn't the typical male.

Cloud will definitely be single. After all, he still carries painful memories of Aerith's death even through she has forgiven him. He can meet Aerith in the flowerfields so he won't be completely alone. Tifa will always be his best friend/sister/mom, but she's only that. She won't be his love interest because of all of their insecurities, misunderstandings and more importantly Tifa doesn't understand Cloud's heart like Aerith does.

Hmm, this is kind of a tough question.

For one thing, I don't ever want Square to show Cloud moving on in life with someone else, and I don't think that they would. So that leaves his fate up to people's interpretations.

I personally believe he'll remain single till the day he dies. And, for all we know, Square might even decide to give Cloud a premature death sometime in a future compilation title. x_x I have mixed feelings about them doing that. On one hand, it proves who he's supposed to be with and that he is finally able to be with her....on the other hand, this is Cloud we're talking about, the main main hero of the story, and I think they even went through that argument once before. So I doubt they'll do that, tho, there is a teeny-weeny possibility....

But, back to my main point without SE influences, I see Cloud as continuing on as he is, visiting Aerith's sites and visualizing that day he can be with her again, to then have it become the reality he'd been waiting for . :cleris:

He'll certainly be single. He seems perfectly content to stay that way, and he's just fine single. As CG said, he isn't your typical male. He doesn't need to be in a relationship to be happy. I think he'll be single for the rest of his life.

We may never know when he'll die. Almost everyone in died early, and it's possible that Cloud will, too.

And at the rate that things are going, I don't think he'll even think of settling with Tifa or any other girl. If he does manage to move on, he'll probably look for another girl that isn't Tifa because the way I see it, he looks at her from a different perspective already: not a sweetheart but a friend/companion or maybe even a mother or a sister. But that's just me thinking. Haha.

The way I see it, I think Cloud's content being single. His business is thriving, his problems are more or less resolved and doesn't mind visiting the flower fields.

If he DOES get together with someone, it'll probably be someone who won't make him feel too uncomfortable.

I agree that Cloud never really had whoremones to begin with. My own interpretation is that he'll remain single, continue traveling around on Fenrir, and visiting the flowerfield. I don't think Cloud either needs or wants more than that. After Cloud dies, I think his spirit will reunite with Aerith's spirit in the Lifestream.

However, I doubt very much that SE will ever pair Cloud up with anyone. My impression is that SE would rather leave it up to interpretation in order to keep all fans happy. FFVII has given SE a huge fanbase and has allowed SE to market numerous titles. If SE paired Cloud up with anyone, they'd lose a large part of the FFVII fanbase. As a result, SE would rather keep everyone happy. Therefore, I highly doubt that we'll ever get a definite answer from SE.

SE certainly do not wish to put off any fans, and Cloud and Tifa's relationship only seems to be platonic, and I can hardly see Cloud pursuing any other relationship.

Well, it's really up in the air. He could be single for the rest of his life, he could end up with Tifa 10 years from now, marry Priscilla 10 years from now, etc. etc.

It's not really a big deal. At least that's what I think. SE's happy what they did to the guy, so it's very much a mystery.

Err, I think he will remain single. I don't think he'd move on to love another, he got hurt twice, by Tifa (ignoring him) and Aerith (dieing). I don't think he'd love once more, he might think he'd get hurt again.

Not to say he'll have any amazing relationships; I think Cloud's pretty awful in that department, and the only reason he ever stood a chance with Aerith in the first place was because they were both equally messed up. But things happen that you don't expect, you meet people you could have never imagined before. So, yeah, it could happen. I'd be awkward at first, but he could do well for himself.

(Of course, in my personal headcanon, Cloud dies at a very young age. Mostly because he should have stayed dead in AC, but whatever.)

Cloud's an interesting case. If Aerith wasn't with him in the way we see her in AC and Cloud never saw or felt her again... then I would say yes, eventually Cloud would move on to some degree, though he'd never forget her.

But we see that in AC, Aerith is still with him to a degree. I don't think he'd move on if he had ANY contact with her whatsoever. Ultimately, Icor has a good point. Cloud is likely to die young... He's not exactly well stocked with a sense of self-preservation, and eventually he'll get himself killed (well he already did, but whatever). Point is, he'd likely die before he would have the opportunity to get with anyone else.

Honestly, I think Tifa will move on before Cloud ever will. I think Cloud moved on in life, but not like others think. He might and I quote MIGHT move on in life with her, because it is very possible for him too. But for some reason, I have always thought as Tifa just giving up on him with the love thing and just finally moving on with Barret or someone else in life.

I think he'll stay single, but that's also because I think he'll die fairly young. Considering the amount of instability the world is in (monsters roaming about and such), plus the fact that Cloud does not seem like the person to be able to settle down comfortably in one place (bar, home or otherwise), I think that he'll die far younger than any sort of "age expectancy" could expect--even if the age expectancy of Gaia is 40-something. I've always thought of Cloud as the kind of person who has had his taste of adventure and--instead of settling down after that taste--craves more (his job of choice during AC involved racing across the lands). He'll continue to go out and fight.

If Cloud could conceivably stay put in one place without jumping on his motorcycle and roaming off elsewhere and get some kind of stable day job working on something or another--then yes. I could see him moving on and POSSIBLY getting a girlfriend (although not necessarily Tifa). However, I just see him as too busy to focus on any sort of romantic possibilities that he may have in terms of the current canon.

I'm of the belief that Cloud is going to remain single for the rest of his life, however long that may be. He has shown every sign of doing so, and he seems perfectly content to be that way. Now, if Aerith were still alive, of course he would marry her. But as she is, 'corporeally challenged' (lmao! Can't stop laughing over that!) he will keep his bachelor status. I cannot see him committing himself to someone else the way he has to Aerith, and I don't believe being lonely is enough to have him marry. After all, why should he be lonely? Aerith is with him in spirit and he has his friends all around him. I think he's content that way, single, but not alone. :)

There is a possibility that he may move on to be with Tifa or any random girl, though of course he may be a little picky.

But then again... there is also the possibility that he will still wait or search for a way to meet and be with Aerith. If he killed himself just like that... Aerith nor Zack (being the one who saved him years before) may not forgive him.

If he got killed during a mission or a delivery, may be a different story. But least likely he won't allow that to happen.

Personally, I'd say, he's pretty content with being single as he's never totally alone.

I see Cloud as staying single. It would only seem natural from his personality. That and people don't always need to be with someone. As he said at the end of AC, he's not alone; he has his friends, and he has Zack and Aerith watching over him. So I don't think he'd feel to alone enough to just go fine someone.

That and from what we all know Square-Enix will probably never truely reveal who he would've ended up with.

I think Cloud will definantly stay single for the rest of his life. And I agree with everyone that Clouds personality and his situation won't allow him to be with anymore for the rest of his life.

Cloud will ALWAYS remain SINGLE!!! I wont have ANY WOMAN keep him...well...except for Aerith. I mean, she really loved him till the end. And Cloud has an introverted personality. He only opens up whenever Aerith's around. Now that Aerith's gone he may keep his thoughts to himself as always. That would be if someone like Aerith comes around but I doubt that'll ever happen. :P

I would love Cloud to stay single and be with Aerith and all, but.... Well, he's always SAD! My god, I mean I think this guy just needs a flippin' hug damn it! I kinda think it would suck for him if he died alone and whatnot. I mean...you can only get so much from friends until that longing for a special kind of love comes around. Now if he were to go with someone other than Aerith, I dunno who it would be, it'd probably someone similar to Aerith. But than again, the hopeless romantic in me would really just like Cloud to stay single and keep that spiritual relationship with Aerith. So for me there are three options:

1) Cloud follows Aerith's advice and leads a happy life and moves on (Aerith doesn't want him to be alone and miserable because of her I'm sure...).

2) He stays single and lives off masterbation in a flower field for the rest of his life, slowly waiting for the day he can be with Aerith and having a grand old time raising Denzel w/out Mama Aerith.

Cloud's always been a loner. Though that doesn't mean he can't intensely care for others, I don't see him as the type who would necessarily need or even want to move on from Aerith and find someone to live the rest of his life with. Additionally, Cloud's always been stuck in his past; he wouldn't make a conscious effort to move on and find someone for the future.

As much as AC healed his guilt over the past and his inability to recognize the love of others around him, I still don't think that would cure Cloud's loner-ways or his tendency to keep his past with him. That's just who he is, and the single life suits him.

Maybe one day when he dies he'll reunite with Aerith in Lifestream, and they can return to the planet together, their need to be together finally assuaged.

I don't really think Cloud will move on, Yeah sure he's still young and things but he is too busy to be tied down by such responsibilities. I think he's fine with the family he technically has, i completely agree with Sadhana too, i also think he lives to much in the past, so i think it would be hard for him to focus on his future by himself let alone one with someone else.
