A club for all those who think that Cid Highwind kicks a serious amount of ass. I find that even though a lot of FFVII fans I talk to think that Cid is amazingly cool and a great character, he's still very overlooked in the fandom, especially next to the prettyboys. :P A lot of people love Cid, but few people take the time to rant about how cool and great he is, etc. And after all the fandom's interest in glorification of minor charcters (not that I have anything against that) and seeing some pretty awful slashfics involving Cid, I've realised that I'd completely forgotten how damn AWESOME he is.

So I want to correct what's going on in the fandom a teeny bit by giving him his due on this board. So this is where we appreciate Cid. Because he is teh_c00lness. B)

Sure he may not exactly be bishie material, and sure he may be slashed with Vincent most of the time (haven't really figured out the reason for this yet...) but he still rocks! Share the love!

Stuff to love about Cid:

* He rocks (you know it's true).
* He's very heroic in his own way; a way quite different to the heroism that Cloud, Aeris and Tifa possess.
* He's just such an enjoyable character! Who could find that personality unlikeable? He's CID! :D
* He saves the whole party in the ending, after the Highwind goes beserk.
* All Cids are great. This is the sacred rule.
* He's the first Cid since FFIV to actually fight alongside the main party. He doesn't just sit on the sidelines!
* He's great in KH, too.
* Dude, he owns the HIGHWIND.
* He's great for comic relief, but is also a interesting, serious and sensitive character.
* He'd give me a good whuppin' for saying that and embarrasing him. :lol:
* He's never given up on his dream.
* The way he freaks out after Cloud's "Let's mosey" remark. :lol:
* His Level Four Limit Break (Highwind). IT OWNS.
* He makes a great temporary leader.
* He wanted to take Aeris for a ride on the Highwind.
* His speech about the Planet as a sick and lonely child... ::gets all teary-eyed::
* He has great theme music.
* He totally changed the way I think of tea.
* His funky way of running.
* He isn't willing to let a girl fry for the sake of his dream.
* In fact, that entire scene is adorable. :wub:
* His cussing is much more amusing than Barret's. :P
* The only man to make drinking tea sound macho...

No, seriously, it's all in the attitude. The cussing's a plus though. Add that with that fact that in the "Bishie Club" I claimed him as my drinking buddy. Attitude+cussing+being my drinking buddy = One of the coolest *&)!s in the game, CID!

One thing I find cool is that he is a Pisces. While they are ruled by emotions, he hides all that and yet he still shows a soft spot. It's cute. :lol:

I agree, Cid was definitely an original, at least in the FF7 sense. Unfortunately, like Barrett and Yuffie (and maybe even Red as well), it looks like he won't be making much more than a "cameo" in AC. If so, I hope he at least does something... well... Cid-like, such as, say, snuff his cigar out on one of those wolf-like monsters that are attacking Midgar.

I'm very dissapointed that Cid (and many others) seems to have been reduced to a bit-player in AC as well, Buhon. Even if the story didn't revolve around him, he's still an awesome and well-loved character who provided a very strong presence in the game and played a huge role. But sadly, it looks like his role in the game is being overshadowed by Tifa and Vincent's. His character made a massive contribution to the original story and he's vital to a lot of important parts of FFVII's plot, and I would've liked to see him continue to play a large role. Cid ought to be given his dues. After all, he's being forgotten as it is. He deserves more than a cameo! :sad:

I'd love to see him and Shera. :wub: Or at least a little thing about what happened to them after the end of the game.

Cid in his own game,lol. Wow I have yet to imagine the possibilities. Cid reminds me a lot of myself, I curse a lot and i'm cocky around friends lol. I like the fact cid has no "dark past" thing going on,he's just there, I wouldn't even concider him comic relief maybe just severe realism.
