This board Rp section seems dead and I'd like to help. I have a huge amount of experience in nearly all forms of RP (games, paper and dice, online, etc), and was pleasantly surprised in an RP section.

I assume that because this is even here some of you are good Role Players, and I'd like to find you. My current attempts have all been knocked down by uncontrollable bad designers or too few people.

I'm not sure if there's any regulations about posting another sites link with the intention to promote it is wrong so I'll wait before that. For now anyone seriously interested in a new RP site should PM. I can show those who ask past examples of what I've done if you want proof of me. What I'd want in a PM is a general show of interest, and support you could show would help, if no support (which is fine) then send a character outline. This might not be for the site (as I have yet to mention a genre) but just to show writing skills.

What could help in character design:
-Good grammar throughout
-Be creative, but controlled. Please no "last surviving orphans of a special family seeking comfort by traveling" it's been done
-Mention the type of rp you'd like (simply social, or involves combat)

What to expect from the proposed site:
-A well thought-out world. Not half finished continents of vague descent.
-A solid theme but no main story (a well defined situation with NO planned ending)
-Rotating TM (topic masters): not having a hundred topics at once to keep changes on characters in line, but allowing others to try out being the world the character's interact with

Excuse me, but if you really want to RP with people here, why not start an RP in these forums and see where it goes, instead of this post which, in a way, is simply advertising? :/

I think a link to another website or another RP board is fine, as long as it's meant as an example of what kind of RP you're thinking of starting, the format of the RP (script, post-by-post, AIM etc.) and so on. It would be best if you set up the actual RP here, though.

I would base it here, but many of the people I'm going to get wont be from here. I mentioned wanting to avoid advertising, and I guess it was not in vain. I simply would like to give a good RP site to those who would enjoy it. It's hard to find anything good in the mix of sites that amount to social boards. If no interest is shown in this, I wont continue.

Again, most people wont be from here (unless many of you join, in that case I don't know) so it'd be hard if not impossible to base it here. The numbers I'm looking at would be hard to manage here alone. If I do make another site I'm sure all RPers from here would want me to link back here in respect. I'm not looking for a permanent mention here, just to find good RPers from many backgrounds.

Sounds nice and all, but to get more people interested, I suggest YOU show what YOU can do and why you're such a master RPer. xD Maybe a link to a past work, a short description of a past work, something to get people even more interested. :) Welcome to the forums btw.

If no one objects, I'll post a link to an example site. I'll show an example profile both social and combat. Some example posts in each using my most trusted RP buddy/ies. I will give one comment: though I don't mind a similar style, this board is in no way connected to any video game world. I'll get it together, check back here for comments and hopefully have a good thing to show tomorrow.

Remember to PM if you're interested, so when I look back I can know who's involved.

Edit: I have sites, but getting all of the content in will take another day atleast. I'm including a few short example topics with two or more posters, a guide as I see it to character design (so you can see if I'm up to par), and general setting description examples. I'll try to make a range of setting examples for topics, but I wont be making dozens. Hope to have it up tomorrow if work doesn't bog me down too much.

Edit 2 [dec 17]: I probably wont continue on this. The real site has been going ok for a few days now, and I never received too much interest to start with excluding maybe two people. I'll refrain from my original plan as it really had nothing to do with this site besides finding members here.
