Title: Cloud And Aerith Meeting... Destiny?
Description: Just think about it.

Cloud&Aerith - November 27, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
I don't know if anyone here created a topic like this already but.. I feel like it's destiny when Cloud and Aerith met. Like Zack was the way for them to meet each other. I don't know how to explain it clearly but I'll try my best. Isn't it destiny when two people meet without knowing that they are already connected with each other or something like that. For example when Zack said that when Cloud meets Aerith he wants him to take care of her I think Cloud and Aerith could've been destined to meet each other through Zack. When I think about it things fit perfectly because if Cloud and Aerith met earlier they couldn't have became close. It would be like a brother-sister relationship or Aerith ending up cheering for Cloud and Tifa (I hate this thought). If they have met earlier Aerith wouldn't have asked Cloud to be her bodyguard in exchange for a date or she wouldn't be so interested in Cloud being a "SOLDIER" and Cloud might not even act as a SOLDIER. I mean both of them changed after they met Zack and because of those changes they became easily attached. Like when Aerith got interested when Cloud said he was a SOLDIER because she knew Zack is a SOLDIER. Cloud said he's SOLDIER because he acts like Zack, right?

I don't know if I did well in explaining but I think I did my best. So.....I don't know anymore. Does anyone here think so too?

I've thought of this myself actually. Zack is like the bond that links them together. And your right, if they did meet each other earlier on, would they be like they would be now? ( i think they would but i would like to know what kind of things would change )

Maybe they will get closer and Cloti fans can finally give it up when saying that Cloud and tifa's love is strong and true because it started out when they were very young :ermm:

And like you said, the whole soldier thing makes aerith interested in cloud cause zack was, but in "The Maiden Who Travelled The Planet" we all know that aerith doesnt like cloud because of zack. They have special lurve <33 :cleris:

But you do bring up some great points!

King Lloyd - November 28, 2007 06:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Zack is like the chain that links their faith together. If it wasn't for Zack, Clerith may have never happened. I still don't like retconning all this information. It leads to inconsistencies and mistakes. But Zack dying I think was a way of saying that Zack/Aerith wasn't meant to last. Cloud and Aerith's relationship only got stronger after her death it lives. Death separated Zack and Aerith, but not Cloud and Aerith. Gosh, I'm so poetic.

MistaCloudStrife - November 28, 2007 09:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that's true. But it's also true that it was probably destiny for Cloud to have met all of the cast of FFVII. If Cloud didn't meet Zack, he wouldn't have met anyone else, including Aeris. But it's a good thought.

I always thought "Squall and Rinoa" was more like destiny since they're the offspring of Squall and Julia and everything. I always thought that it was more than just coincidence; that it was meant to be. And playing Julia's "Eyes on Me" just added that much more to that, as if Laguna and Julia's feelings from that time passed to their children.

EDIT: I meant Laguna and Julia. Sometimes my hand types before my head filters through the words I'm trying to type.

I think it was very much destiny that brought Cloud and Aerith together. But more than anything, I think Cloud was first destined to meet Zack, and through Zack, everyone else. I consider Zack one of, if not the, most important characters in the FFVII world. Without Zack, there would be no Cloud. Zack died so that Cloud could live on. Considering Cloud is the main hero of FFVII, things would have turned out very differently if Cloud had not lived.

Had Cloud died, he would have never met Aerith, he would have never lived to become the hero that he now is. Many things would be different. It was Cloud's destiny to meet Zack, and in turn, Zack's destiny to die for Cloud's sake. In that sense, Zack is very much a hero. Cloud owes everything to Zack. I agree with King Lloyd, Zack chains the characters together. Zack's death also made way for Clerith to happen. Gosh, I love Zack, especially for everything he did for Cloud.

I agree with MCS about Squinoa, too.

King Lloyd - November 30, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Square loves epic romances. Romances that can't happen everyday. In VIII, Squall and Rinoa's parents were lovers torn apart by war. However, when they met they had no idea that they had a connection through their parents. In X, Tidus met Yuna. Jecht was Braska's guardian and fate made Tidus become Yuna's guardian. In VII, Aerith met Cloud during the middle of a crisis in which Cloud was invovled in which she had to become one of the savior's. If it wasn't for Aerith, they couldn't have ever beat Seph and prevented the Black Meteor. That's why I don't think it's Cloti. Its just too everyday. Two old friends become lovers isn't something that is epic. The last possible savior of the world and a person who is connected to both the savior and the possible destroyer meeting and falling in love by fate/destiny is epic.

Well, FF7 Ultimania sort of specifies this point. Cloud and Aerith's meeting is depicted as destiny:

Of course you could choose to take it simply as a one-liner fandom, not oh-so-confirmed proof, ya know. :D

With the release of CC, Zack is like a "special bond" which ties everyone in FF7, but sorry Kuraudo, I still consider the appearance of Zack is more like an "explanation to several puzzles" to me. I thank him for giving life in saving Cloud and everything relates to Aerith, but IMO, Cloud's meeting Aerith and his decision to go rescue her is the most destined fate to make the whole FF7 happen.

No need to be sorry, Aerithlove! Everyone has different opinions.

I do consider it destiny that Cloud and Aerith met, as I do with all of the FF couples. Of course, I believe many things in the FF7 world happened because of destiny. And yes, Zack is a thread that ties everyone in FF7 together, and I consider that sort of destiny, too, that everyone's fates are intertwined.

IMO, it was fate that brought Cloud and Zack to meet. I consider their meeting the most important because, IMO, their meeting and friendship started the events of FF7. If Cloud and Zack had never met, FF7 would have turned out...much differently.

If I'm making sense... Which I don't believe I am.:dizzy: I'll have to go back and re-word this sometime.

Maybe we just have different views on destiny, and that's okay. I love that quote from the Anniversary Ultimania, BTW.

Cloud&Aerith - December 1, 2007 05:37 AM (GMT)
I don't mean Aerith got interested in Cloud because of Zack what I meant is Aerith got curious when Cloud said he's a First class SOLDIER and acts like Zack when they first met but I don't think she loved him because of that and I truly believe that because she said they were different. So above all I agree with you guys! :fangirl:

You know i wish they added a scene with Cloud and Aerith together. I mean maybe they were just in the same room without ever knowing or something like that. Maybe they just pass by each other when Cloud had his uniform on and they didn't notice each other. :)

I kinda wish that too, but then again it would make it too much of a fairytale, and it wouldn't be love at first sight for Cloud. :giggle:

Angel of Cleris - April 4, 2008 02:48 AM (GMT)
I absolutely agree with your idea. Cloud and Aeris met through Zack. Zack is like the bridge that links them together, and it's definitely destiny. He sacrificed himself for Cloud to live, and by doing so, Cloud became the main hero of FFVII. Also, by sacrificing himself, it caused Cloud's amnesia and stuff and all those things brought him and Aeris together. Although Aeris sees Zack in Cloud, it's clear that Aeris definitely saw more than a Zack replica. She saw the person she wanted to meet through Cloud.

So, therefore, Zack is one of the most important characters in the FFVII world. Without him, there would be no Cloud, and there would definitely be a difference in the story.

Moreover, if it wasn't for Zack, there won't be Cleris.

sdjsfan4ever - April 10, 2008 06:45 AM (GMT)
I never thought of that until now. And you know what, it makes perfect sense. Zack has got to be the catalyst for Clerith. It's also interesting to note that both Zack and Cloud both met Aerith by crashing through the roof of her church. Long live Clerith!!!

Nightmare - April 11, 2008 11:17 AM (GMT)
Not only for Cleris! Zack was like the one building the plot for FFVII. And yes, Zack is one of the most important characters. I don't even know if this can even click to our topic, but I kinda feel funny while I was playing CC, the scene Zack met our-soon-to-be materia thief/toughest ninja evah of Wutai Yuffie and the scene Zack was rummaging every coffin somewhere in the Shinra Mansion and accidentally opened the coffin where someone was sleeping..hmm...
