Title: Which Is Worse: GameFAQs Or AC.net?

NekoDono - November 19, 2007 10:49 PM (GMT)
Ignorance online is everywhere but I have never seen places nearly as nonsensical as these two! I would assume the collective IQ of GameFAQs boards is around 15 and AC is only 2 points higher. Any opinions?

No need to be so hateful now.

AC.net is ok if you cut out the egotism and rabids. GameFAQs seems to pride itself on it's own idiocy. Most forums with that many members end up that way though so it's pretty much a given that people will become that way. D:

Well since GameFAQs as a site has been useful to me before, I'm totally voting for AC.net.

Mostly because of ACF.

Both.

But that's just me. I rarely visit either of them anymore.

GameFAQs, as terrible as it can get, also tends to be the only place I can find enough people to discuss my smaller, more hidden fandoms. The SaGa Frontier board, in particular. There was never another forum like it anywhere else. Not even the LJ SaGa community was as active. Shadow Hearts and SH: Covenant are comparatively more well-known games, with bigger pockets of fans, but GameFAQs still seems the major meeting point.

ACF is about as rabid as any other gigantic forum. I'm not gonna lambast it, though, because that's where I met some of the coolest people too (yin~ Anti~ Devotion~~~~~).

So yeah, "no comment", I guess. They've got problems, as expected, but you find gems in the weirdest places.

AC.net suffers from the overpopulation virus. During the early days I used to visit AC.net quite often and did enjoy my time there. I think my old "special" club is buried there somewhere still as well. :P

But now the mindless masses have taken over most parts of that forum. It's still a fine place, no doubt, but I prefer the somewhat more quiet places. :)

Being a challenge player, GF is much more useful to me than ACN. Despite the huge masses of injoke and fail, a lot of more experienced challenge players make GF boards their base, even on big games. I stay the HELL away from FF7 though.

Also, Lynn is awesome for the SH mention.
