For me it's Cloud and Aeris because I really noticed Cloud really loves Aeris because at the beginning of the game, Cloud was rude, selfish, unkind and he doesn't care anything about the planet, all he cares about is his money :cloud: . When Aeris came to his life he change and not only that for the first time in his life Aeris makes Cloud happy. I love the scene when Cloud fell on Aeris's church and the scene of Cloud and Aeris's date :cleris:

Perhaps my reason is because that this couple is very unique. It has certain traits which most couples be they imaginary or real-life seem to lack. For instance they both respect each other very much, probably because they have a trait that the other lacks (i.e Cloud admires Aerith for being emotionally strong and optimistic while he has neither, Aerith admires Cloud for being physically strong and protective.) And this might be a tad overused but Aerith loves Cloud for who he is and vice-versa. Cloud is very attractive but lacks charisma. But if you could ask Aerith that same question she would say he is very charming. Even before they probably realized they had feelings for each other she found his personality a charming one. Cloud likes her for who she is because she was the first person to ever treat him with true kindness ever since his mother died. And of course the fact that Aerith is one of the departed and he isn't. Most Clotis say that Cloud still loving Aerith after she died and the bond that they even after her death is unrealistic, really I find it very realistic the only reason one would say it is unrealistic is it's very rare, which makes the couple even more special. I hope that made sense.

I adore this couple because to me they prove that there is love even in death and that death can't separate the one you love. Not to mention, I love how Cloud kept bumping into Aeris the whole time through the beginning. To me that was just a sign of destiny spinning the wheel of love and that, Cloud could only ever really be himself around Aeris. When he was around the other's like aeris15 said, he was just an ass to everyone and I think even FFVII Ultimania states that the only reason why Cloud truly jumped into battle for the planet was because of Aeris herself. This couple is very much like every other FF pairing like, Squall and Rinoa, Tidus and Yuna, Zidane and Garnet, Shuyin and Lenne and so on. I guess, that's why I adore them so much and just a note, I've never heard of a FF game, where the main Hero got with the female fighter(Tifa). He always hooked up with the white mage/magical person(Aeris) of the group. :D

Yeah your right. Aeris, Yuna, and Rinoa has a unique special abilities. You know most RPG main heroes partners have unique abilities like Aeris, she can speak to the planet, Yuna, she can can summoned monsters and Rinoa like an angel to Squall :fangirl:. While Tifa she has abilities but she has no unique special ability like the three girls. That proves Cloud and Tifa are not meant to be. It must Cloud and Aeris cause Cloud is the main character of the Story.


You know guys I would rather prefer Tifa and Zack they are really match couple.

- It seems far more apparent than CloTi, Cloud's heart felt connection to Aerith is far stronger than his bizarre, awkward friendship with Tifa.
- They look better together than CloTi. XD
- What can I say? I'm a tragedy lover.
- Whenever Cloud needs emotional guidance or support Aerith is there and when Aerith is caught by the baddies Cloud is there. He's a true hero to Aerith while he failed Tifa.

Simple. As far as the main story of FFVII goes, Tifa isn't necessary; Aeris is.

One of the main reasons why I have such a love for this pairing is their chemistry. If you simply place the two together, regardless of the location, I'd bet that their natural interactions would lead to a moment of their own anyway. x) It's so particularly interesting with characters like Cloud and Aerith, since they're so unique and contrasting but with reflective backgrounds. <3

They really click. It's the chemistry, like TS said. Cloud thinks he has to be an utter hardass to be liked, but Aeris just likes him when he's being himself, and is eager to get to know more about him. Out of everyone, she's the most obviously affectionate to him and I think that's why she made such an impression on him. I think that type of personality is good for him - Cloud has such a tough time saying what he really means when it comes to feelings, and Aeris is the type who is open and can read another person well.

It's the way their personalities compliment one another's so nicely.

Cloud is the kind of person that everyone else thinks needs some sort of guidance, however, he prefers just the opposite. Aerith is the kind of person that, regardless of how adamant she is about her own decisions, would never force anything on Cloud. Because of this, she gives him all of the space he needs to figure out what's best for himself, no matter how long it takes.

The beauty of it all is that Aerith, probably the only person who has any stock in Cloud's decisions, is exactly what he really does need. In order for him to come to any sort of choice, he needs someone to tell him that they honestly believe in him.

And not just anyone, either. I think a part of the reason why Cloud trusts Aerith when she tells him she has faith in him is because he knows that she is comfortable with her own decisions.

(Honestly, if you think about it, most of the FFVII cast doesn't have any sort of faith in Cloud at all. Not even Tifa, as much as she wishes she did.)

But this is just how I see it, feel free to say differently. ^^

Ehem, well lets see now. They were made for each other. Cloud is the hero and Aerith the heroine. They are like the perfect couple cause their love is eternal and not even death can change that, so cute! Cloud needs someone to take him out of his shell and aerith comforts him and lets him know that he can be himself around her. Cloud needs time to do almost anything and aerith is a very patient woman.

Cloud and Aeris' personalities are definitely perfect for such a relationship. As they say, opposites attract. Cloud is a moody, rarely smiling man that you really can't socialize much with. Aeris, on the other hand, is a cheerful and outgoing woman, perfect for Cloud's personality.

Cloud and Tifa would only remain as friends. Tifa wanted someone who would protect her, someone who's kinda famous. That someone is Zack. Tifa wanted Cloud, but she wants Cloud to be some other person. A famous SOLDIER.

On the other hand, Aeris was attracted to Cloud's simplistic, moody and silents ways. Yes, they're compatible.

They have more reasons to be a couple than anyone can shake a stick at. :D

But I think what I really like about their relationship, and what I see as a really huge factor in determining their love real, is their spiritual connection. Cloud can feel Aerith in his soul, something that shows how much of an effect Aerith has had in his life, and Aerith can surpass the strong boundaries of death to communicate with him by living on inside Cloud.
They are soul-mates, through and through. <3

Yeah. While most couples look for other partners when one of them dies, Cloud and Aeris stays together and loves each other even after Aeris dies.

I was collecting some interesting findings in building my future secret fan-club and I was bored, so I feel like babbling something in this thread... :blush: Some reasons might be terribly pointless(I'm out of new reasons, man..) but I hope they're interesting:

1. The famous back to back scene in AC:
It reminds me of another one in FF7, when the gang found Tseng's dying in the Ancient Temple, Aerith turned to the wall and cried. Cloud walked toward her, looked at her for a moment and then turned his back to her, saying "You're crying?" .....sorry i can't help but thinking tis iz some kind of intimate concern between two people. :woot:

2. Cloud's facing outside of the window when Tifa's still unconscious in the bed(AC):
We don't know whether Cloud nursed Tifa before he turned to the window or not, but I think Cloud should at least sit on the bed beside her and wait for her regaining conscousness, not just stare at the outside and deep in thoughts... :P

3. Cloud's simplicity at keeping promises in mind:
While SE milks the childhood promise too much, IMO Cloud's behavior of keeping promise in mind also hints a lot of Clerisy cookies. We all know Cloud not only promised to be Aerith's bodyguard, he also promised that he'll take her to the HighWind one day. Since he's kindof guy who'll take promise as a biiiig deal(considering that childhood one and his acting like a "Aerith's life-time bodyguard"), I imagine that Cloud would feel it hurt like hell when he thinks of that HW promise... And what's more, I think he still considers himself as Aerith's bodyguard in AC even she's a goner(that's why the sin is so unbearable to him).
Oh, and don't forget Aerith ensured Cloud that she'll come back when it's all over. IMO, Cloud will always believe in this "promise" and keeps the hope in mind.....sounds like the reason why he'd be so sure that he'll meet her in the Promiseland. :fangirl:

Hm, when I think about it, really think about it, I can admit that Cloud and Aeris would make a great couple, and there are a few reasons why I think this. :]

Aeris is such a bright and spirited personality, and, after reading an essay on Destinry Fufilled, I saw a new light. About Aeris being a fresh start, and not having a shaky past with Cloud. I think that is a very good thing for him. Also, their personalities contrast. Nao, I am DEFINITELY not a fan of the whole "opposites attract" idea, but it's not like they are so insanely opposite that it wouldn't make sense. Aeris has the right personality that can really help encourage Cloud when he's feeling down, that can cheer him up and make him laugh. She's got that girly sweetness that every-one can find to be cute, I'm sure. x3 She's so open and honest and Cloud... well, he isn't. The fact that she can help bring out his inner feelings, is a very spiffy thing indeed. :huggle:

I love a lot of the famous Cleris scenes, I think they are very cute as well as logical. :] Also, meaningful as well.

They REALLY love each other, more than the world itself. It's enough to say that it's CxA.

Why, you ask? Cloud cares for her, Aeris does the same. If one argues that it's CxT because of the Highwind scene, then how can a conversation filled with "..."s be romantic?

Zack entrusted Aeris to Cloud, and he gladly did so. He developed feelings for Aeris, and Aeris did the same.

I think Cloud and Aerith are perfect for each other because she basically brings out the real him. She manages to break the shell he hides behind and makes him feel comfortable, and you can tell he loves her because he ALWAYS considers her safety before anyone else's (which is so adorable!) Also, he drops a hint in cosmo canyon when they're all sitting around the fire and he goes to talk to Aerith and she's talking about being alone, he says "But I'm-- we're here for you" (or something along those lines :P ) I just think that even though Aerith is no longer living, he CAN see her, and he can visit her, so they're love extends beyond death.

I agree with Aeris15 on this one, Tifa and Zack would make a great couple because of their personalities.

Cloud seems to be able to express himself moreso around Aerith than any other character in the game. Aerith also trusts Cloud, which is an important part of a relationship (like when shinra kidnaps her, she says something like "I knew you'd come for me" or something) Cloud also goes out of his way for Aerith. If something has to so with Aerith's safety, he never hesitates, he goes with no second thoughts. :cleris:

Also, a little irrelevant... I choke up (because I know whats going to happen to Aerith :cry: ) at the part where they're in the temple of the ancients and there's that one maze thing and Aerith tells Cloud "Don't worry, one day we'll get old and look back at this day and laugh" (something around those lines...) which (back to relevance, kinda) shows how Aerith, in a way was hoping she and Cloud would spend the rest of their lives together. (at least that's how I take it.) :cry:
