*Mr Burns pose*
To understand the contents of this thread, you must at least have read the entire Chronicles of Narnia.
Have you ever gotten the feeling that Narnia is similar to FFVII? At least the theme?
Yes, I'm talking about the pairing, I'll get there after a bit.
You see, the entire point of FFVII is about the Gospel.
Case in point:
The Limit Break Great Gospel
Sacrificing self for planet/humanity
Aerith is a White Mage
Put them together. Now, answer me this:
Are you an atheist?
It is impossible to be. If you are an atheist, then you know that there is a "God"-
I am not going off topic, don't interrupt-
right? So, we all love God, right?
In conclusion:
Aerith=Christ Figure
Clorith=Divine Love
:cleris:
Now, am I allowed to bash Tifa? I have an entire list of thoughts about her.

:blink:
Narnia/FFVII link, huh? Never read the series myself, but others have so maybe they can contribute more. Personally, I always saw Christianity as just one of many influences in FFVII.
You can't bash Tifa outside the Character Bashing forum. You can criticise her, you can say you don't like her, but it should be in a reasonable manner. Basically, no "Tifa iz a h0r git er nasty claws off aerith's Clod!!!1!1!"
And since this looks like it'll deal quite a bit with religion, the ol' sensitive topic of yore, everyone please try not to engage in religious debate here.

OK... I love Narnia. It's my first fantasy book. That's why when Harry Potter came, I was not taken in by the hype. And the fact I hate school for the rest of my life probably helped.
But... this is the first time this is linked in FFVII. Am surprised. And disturbed.

I've read all the books multiple times and I...don't get the comparison :unsure: Aslan=Aerith???
Sky Strife - November 14, 2007 05:42 AM (GMT)
Yeah, well, uh...
Book Two. What is it about? This is the most linked to FFVII.
::CloudSmiles:: - November 15, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
Huh. Book two. Book two is "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", the one they made a movie out of. I don't really see a connection there, though. What do you mean? How are the two connected?
Anti-R - November 15, 2007 10:20 AM (GMT)
Or Prince Caspian... if we follow the publishing date than the stories' chronological date.

This isn't serious, right?
Other than abusing the ontological argument (whether or not God ittwngcbc, I can concieve of a unicorn, but no one here's claiming it's impossible to not believe in them) I think you're missing the point. : | I mean, if anything, Gaia is influenced by Norse mythos, but I'm really not going to get into this any further, because I get the feeling I'm too hungover to realise this is a parody thread... I hope.

You wanna know what the relation is with Book Two and FFVII?
They both got killed by sadistic people who want to destroy the world. Hahaha!
They both got killed trying to save something. Hahaha!

SPOILERS!
Uh... all the main characters in Narnia (except Susan Pevensie) died in the last book (and it was a railway accident in the real world). Not during the second.
Anyways, this is proof this conversation is going nowhere. Asking it to be locked?

It shall be done.
And Sky Strife, try to back up your claims with some reasons. Otherwise it really looks more like a parody topic or, well, spam. >.>;
Closing this for now. If you want it reopened, PM me.
