Hi, I'm new here. I've been playing FF7 a short while ago. I have been browsing the forum for several nights before deciding to join. I know it's been a while now, but is the debate about whether or not Cloud and Aeris is canon still going on? I always thought it was supposed to be Cloud and Aeris, until I read through these forums and learned that other people felt differently. Well, I hope I like it here. :)

People do have different opinions, otherwise it's going to be a very boring world. However, in this forum, we are all about Cloud and Aerith being a couple. We express and stick to our beliefs here against the other party who prefers Cloud and Tifa together.

You can learn a lot of stuff in this forums on why Cloud and Aerith as a couple makes more sense compared to *that other pairing*.
If you're a true blue Cleris, you'll definitely like it in here. ^_^' I can guarantee that.

Thank you, Tifa. :) I like it here already. Yeah, as I was browsing and reading the forums I thought it sounded very friendly. That's amazing that the debate hasn't been resolved yet, though. But I do understand how it can be boring if there's only one way to interpret the characters' relationship.

To me, it just seems out of character for Cloud to like Tifa over Aeris, since he began to show his caring side after meeting her, whereas he had been living with Tifa and didn't show much affection toward her. He seemed to really care about Aeris, always concerned for her safety. So, I was surprised that it wasn't a given that he loved Aeris. That we actually had to debate to support that view.

Yeah, the LTD's been going on since FFVII's '97 release, though the real ugly phase has died down for a long while. It didn't surprise me since the love triangle was specifically mentioned in the game booklet (and I operated, at that age, on the mathematical rule that "one guy + two girls = love triangle" *nods sagely*).

Welcome! Yes, the LTD has still not been resolved, and probably never will be until someone officially says it, which would never happen because then Square-Enix would lose at least half of FFVII's fanbase and a whole lot of moola.

That aside, you'll have a great time here, everyone is really nice and (I find) funny, and anyone will answer any questions you have. :huggle:

Exactly! :( It's a sad reality that the entire issue has not yet been resolved.
But until the officials over at Square Enix can announce that Cleris is canon, the debate will never end. However, we are still hopeful that definitely positive that CloudxAerith is as good as canon already... I mean, look at the proofs! They're everywhere! ;)

And yeah, LTD's not gonna close for at least decades I think. SE never dares to lose any FF7 fan, or say, they dare not to lose any chance of squeezing money from fans~I mean, disappointing each side's fan and stop them from buying any FF7 series products? No way! :whistle:

Thank you everyone, for the warm welcome. :) I guess I can now declare myself officially a Cleris. Hehe, I'm happy to be here. It's nice to be around others who think and feel the same way that I do, to share thoughts, ideas, observations, and whatnot.

Yeah, if the officials were going to announce it they would've done it by now. They wouldn't wait until after a decade. And I so agree that they won't ever declare any pair canon now that they have such strong fanbase from both sides; they don't want to disappoint or lose half of their fans. But I totally agree with Tifa that pro Cleris proofs are everywhere. I always thought Cleris (now that's a new term for me) was canon. And I thought Advent Children confirms it even further. But it seems that some people want to argue otherwise. It will probably always be that way.

trust me! unless all the Clotis get converted to the pink side :aeris: or vice versa(lyk that's ever gonna happen <_< ) the LTD will continue to exist. The other possibility is that SE declares one of them as the canon pair which I highly doubt
