Kaldea - October 18, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
How could it be a 20th anniversary? Is it coming out in another ten years or something?
FF_Goddess - October 19, 2007 12:42 AM (GMT)
I think it is an Ultimania that encompasses all of Final Fantasy, CG. Notice that there are scenes from many different games in the scan. ^_^
Sefie - October 19, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
I think it looks awesome!
Is it just me, though, or is that Kuja in the logo? O.o
Coral - October 19, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
:lmao:
I think this is not Kuja...just someone laying on a big crystal..!
Maybe Final Fantasy series's spirit for its 20?
See the official website, you may see by yourself. The logo is much bigger :
http://www.square-enix.co.jp/ff20th/As you might know there's a lot of events for this anniversary: FFI & II, Final Fantasy Dissidia... and now this Ultimania book!

Psss, Kaldea, do you think this one is worth of purchasing?
Kaldea - December 27, 2007 03:03 AM (GMT)
I dunno enough about it yet. D: If it is, I'll most likely end up getting it. It really depends on how much info they have on each game to me. I'm not going to buy it if it's all the same as before since I have five or six other FFVII artbooks already.
sha - January 12, 2008 08:00 AM (GMT)
OooooooooooooooooooK.. This is getting weird..
Apparently, the ultimania above is not the exact book from the first post.. The correct book is this one  :
amazon.co.jpThis is a first book, "CHARACTER", covers characters from FFI to FFXII, with illustrations and CG images. 512 full colour pages.(1800 yen)
Source:
http://ffkh.blog31.fc2.com/The blue one(also 20th Anniversary) was actually another different anniversary book released by Famitsu..
20th Anniversary Ultimania from SE and Studio Bent Stuff is total of three books, each covering a different aspect.
Studio Bent Stuff's website was updated with the planned release dates for each volume and a bit of detail on the first one, "Characters".
1)January 31st 2008 - File 1: Characters
2)March 2008 - File 2: World & Story
3)May 2008 - File 3: Battle & Special
Information about three books there was from ACF.net.. Thanks to Hitoshura(V)! :gift:
OMG!!!! TRILOGY!!!

Sorry, if I post this in the wrong thread since I'm a noob. If it doesn't belong there, please feel free to delete the post.
Anyway, a few day ago I got the File 1: Characters book. At first I didn't really pay attention to the FFVII section as I'm currently very much into FFXII, but then I noticed a page about romance in different Final Fantasies. At the first glance I saw that there was no mention of FFVII, yet you had the couples from VIII, IX, X and even XI shown with pictures.
That got me interested and I looked through all the character relationship tables (or whatever you call them). I have to say that I'm very, very anti-CloTi since the rabids made me despise it. I never really cared for Tifa, but because all of their talk about how she and Cloud had sex and an established relationship from the end of FFVII on made me strongly dislike her.
Besides, I was always a fan of Cloud's and Aeris' relationship in the game...
So what did I notice? All pairings like Squall and Rinoa, or even Celes and Locke get mark as such while in the FFVII it's only shown that Tifa had onesided feelings for Cloud, while they were only addressed as "friends from childhood".
So I'm asking now... if CloudxTifa had an estabilished relationship in the Compilation-verse why did SE choose not to lable it as such in their newest release? The book even states that Yuna's brother has a crush on her in FFX-II. If they even state that fact, why not the "oh-so-obvious" (*cough*) relationship of Cloud and Tifa?
Could it be because there is none? >_>
And don't get me started on the "friends from childhood" crap. If that indicates a love relationship that means we have a canon yaoi pairing in FFX-II with Yuna's cousin and some other guy on the airship (while Brother still lusts after Yuna) as they are called the same.
I know that this book doesn't include the Compilation, but as the rabids claim that Cloud and Tifa became a couple at the end of FFVII there should be no other "proof". For me everything is clear, I never had a doubt that CloudxTifa was intended by the creators, but as I just looked into the LTD thread on ACF I got angry again.
If they could just come down from their high horses and look at the evidence AGAINST their pairing without snapping at the poor Cleris fans.
I won't discuss with those people but I wonder how they would counter this argument. And no, "it's so obvious the creators don't have to mention it" won't do.
Sadly, though, the book also doesn't confirm Cloud's and Aeris' relationship. I had really hoped for it. ;o;
Anyway, I just wanted to mention this anti-CloTi observation I've found and know what you think about it.
Again sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread, and sorry for my crappy English! *backs away*

Oh, yeah, I agree 100%. CloTis go on and on about how it was "confirmed that Tifa is Cloud's koibito" and all that (when Nomura was only speaking of her traits, not her roles, and certainly didn't mention Cloud), but is she ever called that in relation to Cloud? NOPE. Actually, Tifa is consistently called Cloud's "childhood friend" in anything that remotely speaks of their relationship. She is also referred to as "an important person in Cloud's family" due to their platonic family relationship. So, if S-E confirmed that Tifa is Cloud's koibito in RF, why don't they keep calling her his koibito? Why is it always "childhood friend" or "family"? Um, maybe because you rabids had it wrong? Maybe because he was talking about "dimensions" of Tifa's "character"? Maybe because you took things out of context yet again???
Also, if CloTi is so obvious, then why isn't it obvious to Tifa? Why is it that she has to ask Cloud if he loves her in CoT? Clearly, a romantic relationship isn't obvious or Tifa wouldn't have to ask, would she?

You really feel that way? I've always believed that CloudxAerith was intended from the beginning and is still the OTP.
Anyways, yeah, we are going off-topic. Maybe you should take a look at the thread Craziest Reasons here:
http://z8.invisionfree.com/Cloud_x_Aerith/...14&st=735last It's a good place to vent. :P

Sorry, my fault... of course I believed that CloudxTifa was NEVER intended by the creators. I guess I should check my posts before I post them, sorry... ^^"
Even back when I first played FFVII and wasn't too fond of Aeris (I only grew to like her later), I never saw CloTi romance. And the Compilation never convinced me otherwise.
And yeah, I totally agree with you. The rabids accuse us of false evidence, when they don't see how wrong they are. C'mon, it's not very hard to see that if SE wanted Cloud and Tifa to be a couple they would state it like they have done it with every other couple out there... >_>
I think it's really funny how the rabids ignore things like that yet bomb us with tons of other things they call "evidence".
Oh, and thanks for the link. I've been lurking there for quite some time already, though. I've never posted anything yet, because I'm still a bit shy when it comes to discussions like that even though we're all fans of Cloud and Aeris here... ^^"

So you got the book? Great! Do you also enjoy Amano's arz like I do? :huggle:

| ... if CloudxTifa had an estabilished relationship in the Compilation-verse why did SE choose not to lable it as such in their newest release? |
Well, it IS amazing why S-E still labels their relatinship as "childhood firends" instead of the saying of "more than friends, less than lovers" in some random magazine. I think it somewhat confirmed Noruma's idea it in the interview (Famistu PS2, May, p. 33) that he thinks we could have a full understanding about their relationship through this work, AC; he said it's not that easy to desrcibe it in words. Therefore, if AC didn't marry them as lovers, then why bothers about things that did not, and will not happen between them? <_<
And I don't know if you noticed it or not, but in page 226, the list of "the work of the Compliation of FF7" has a special note, saying that Last Order is not included in the Compliation. Ok, ok, it's a book with conclusive info of FF series, not specifically means FF7 like FF7 10th Anni- Ultimania.*sarcasm*

That's in the 20th Anniversary Ultimania??? LMAO!!! :lmao:
I guess they just assumed that we know that MotP isn't part of the Compilation either. It's just so pointless and useless that they just forgot about it. :fish:
*Snickers*
Cissnei - March 21, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)

Oh, I really love the book and also the art. There are a lot of pictures I haven't seen before. Sadly I haven't had much time yet, to read into it, since I have a seminar paper that has to be written (>_<"), so I only checked the character relationship tables so far.
That's why I also hadn't seen the note about Last Order yet. But now that I checked it... Haha! XD
But I guess as long as MoTP isn't stated there as well the rabids won't think of it as a part of the Compilation. And even then I know they would go on with their "but CC dismissed it as wrong, there are so many contradictions" crap, even though I don't know how MoTP contradicts anything... *sigh*
It's not that I want to change they CloTis minds. They can ship whatever pairing they like, it's just them claiming that CloudxTifa is canon and bashing Cleris which annoys me to no end.
Chibica - March 22, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
MoTP stands as nothing but fandom, even though it is a part of the book,
FF7 Ultimania Omega, a book confirmed to be the
literal edition of "the Compliation of FF7".(p. 3)
It's just a fanfiction written by a random writer, not Nojima, even though it is placed in
FF7 Ultimania Omega, the
only one listed in S-E's
official webpage of FF7 Compliation, under the catergory of book.
Seriously,
MoTP is just some novel worthy of time-killing, although we found no BIG mistake in the story that contradicts the whole of FF7, and S-E happens to allow it to appear at some official product, AND most fans coincidentally called it
the bible of FF7.
*runs with endless sarcasm*
Cissnei - March 22, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)
Well, I guess unless you're born a CloTi you just can't see how obvious that is... *cough*
I'm so happy I'm not actively contributing to the LTD anymore, because the rabids were really driving me insane. This forum is a so much more peaceful place! :aeris:
Anyway, today I had a closer look at the content of the book and I so love it! *o* Can't wait to get the Scenario guide as well!

Yes it is, FFG. The original part about this line is in the preface of FF7UO(p. 3), written by the editor, Yamashita-san.
If you need the exact trans about this preface, I could do it for you, FFG. :gift:

oooohhh wooow <_<
if they dont release it in english for america and or europe then I dont care, I mean why are they so selfish and like to give a crap about the other contries?
It seems they like to live in their bubbles.
My theory is that they dont define that cloud x aerith is cannon cause that would make clotis go insane and they would stop spending their money on goods etc...
so we may have to wait until the president of SE dies or Nomura says a word before dying :(
If they release it IN AMERICA(sounds failiar? ) they better put the link betwen :cloud: and :aeris:
