Ok, I saw my bro replaying CC yesterday, and he's in Nibelhem meeting Cloud for the first time. The jet crashed into a mountain and Zack, Tseng and Cloud all escaped from it and kept walking. ZackXCloud's famous "Where u from?".."Nibelhem".."hahaha~" was then happening. HERE'S MY QUESTION:

Zack showed Tseng that he and Cloud will do the rest. (that's when Cloud took off his helmet) SO TSENG BASICALLY KNEW CLOUD AS A NORMAL SOLDIER ??? After that light chat, Cloud always walked besides Zack while Tseng's keeping explaining the side mission. I mean, SE has been portraying Tifa the one and the ONLY one who knows Cloud's past, but he-hey!! how 'bout Tseng?? Tseng definately knew Cloud at that moment, so the "special bond" that refers Tifa as the key to Cloud's real self is broken....? :o
Even Tifa's the only one who knows Cloud as a boy, but Cloud being a experiment for Hojo happened after Zack's death, right? Cloud had been troubled himself with the problem that "he's just a puppy, a Sephy's clone. SE told us that only ppl in Nibelhem event (or his childhood friend) knew CLoud, but how about Tseng?? Not to say in LO, we know that Tseng also kept Cloud's file open on the desk while Zack took Cloud escaping from Shinra..
Why didn't he give comments when he saw Cloud in FF7Game? amnesia? :dunno:

I don't know if this Q been mentioned before but I hope anyone can offer me some quite answers...it bothered me the whole day! :puke:

Actually, Cloud and Zack became Hojo's experimental subjects right after the Nibelheim burning. Remember that Zack was collapsed in the Nibel reactor after trying to fight Sephiroth? And Cloud had been stabbed through the stomach (which I realise is almost exactly where Aerith was stabbed later, and it's probably just sheer coincidence but whoa, creepy :blink: ).

When other Shinra troops came in to clear up the mess with Hojo, he kept Zack and Cloud under the Shinra mansion for five years (I can't remember if he rounded up the rest of Nibelheim's residents for experiments). Probably the only reason he didn't keep Tifa is because her martial arts instructor, Zangan, managed to save her and bring her to Midgar before she was taken by Hojo.

Possibly because Cloud was just a Shinra grunt when Tseng first met him in CC. Cloud was an absolute nobody, so I reckon Tseng had better things to do at the time than to remember a random grunt's name.

Also, it appeared to me that the Turks didn't actually know who had been kept in the mansion and escaped. I recall Cissnei being VERY surprised that it was Zack she had been chasing. Since Hojo probably kept referring to them as "Experiment ___", I suspect Tseng never knew their true identities.

And finally, Tseng is a Turk. Cloud's past is none of his business so even if he had some memory of meeting this "blond kid who's suddenly wearing a 1st Class SOLDIER's uniform", he likely wouldn't have said anything until it became an issue in his job.

I'd rather not touch LO with a 10-foot pole. :lol: But I guess if you had to come up with a reason, he might have assumed Cloud dead and consequently forgotten about him. Or that Turk argument up above might work too.

One call just call it plot holes because of retcon.
