Apparently, people seem to either absolutely love it or absolutely hate it. I haven't seen an in-between. :lmao:
Honestly, I loved it. <3 I don't care what other people say; it was really awesome, and everyone sang beautifully. I also liked the story, and the wonky music video scenes were darn awesome. : D My favorite being when Jude sang "I've Just Seen A Face" and the whole bowling thing. <3 He looks good in a vest, plz. <3
Please don't tell me you hated it. ;-;
I'm too lazy to type in detail, but I can't wait for the deluxe soundtrack to be released. >w< *waiting*

I have the soundtrack and I'm IN LOVE. Haven't actually seen the movie yet, but I will.

ZOMG YES. I LOVE their voices, and it's SOGORGEOUSUGH. I'm holding out for the deluxe edition, 'cause it has all the songs and a couple more, I think, sooo...<33
The movie DEFINITELY lives up to the songs! O: ZOMG, the bowling sceene. <3 All the music videos are DEFINITELY awesome. O:
Some of them were pretty absurd and random, so I was cracking up. :lmao: ZOMG. <33 It's just pure love. The Beatles definitely were honored by this movie, I think. >w<

Haven't seen the movie yet but I'm intrigued by its trailer whenever I'm seeing it on TV and whenever it's being discussed in E! News.
Got spoilers?

Just saw this movie and I LOVE it. I'd compare it to Moulin Rouge except with even more eccentric moments, but the music is all gorgeous and the imagery is quite pretty. I don't want to give away the ending, but it wraps up fairly well. :]

MT: Ugh, yes! It's so wonderful. <3 I don't want to spoil anything, but it was very awesome, and the ending fixed things and stuff. : D

Oh, wow!
Usually, I am virtually indifferent at the mention of a new musical, because IMHO they have become overly commercialized(like High School stinking Musical, to name the worst), or have eye-candy but not-so-hot voices(Phantom of the Opera...sorry Gerard fans, or should I say, phans).
BUT this one just grabs my attention because OMG!THEBEATLES! Yeah, my parents raised me on the Beatles, you see, so this movie intrigues me immediately! A MUSICAL with BEATLES songs? Oh yeah! Plus, it has Evan Rachel Wood who I thought was absolutely amazing in that indie movie "Thirteen"...got a guarantee of good acting already! Plus, it looks so psychedelic and artsy, and I absolutely love movies like that!
Hey, thanks for linking this, Lute, now I have something I can drag my sister to see

I haven't yet seen this, but I love love love the trailer they air on TV. :lmao: I've heard the soundtrack for the movie anf there are some really awesome standouts, like "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Hey Jude." Ahhh, <3 the Beatles.
Boo to limited screen showings, though.

Kusari: UGH, HSM. THAT DOESN'T EVEN COUNT AS A MUSICAL. D:
And my mom would agree with you on PotO - she's an opera singer, and she criticized everyone to death. :lmao:
Yes, this movie is PURELOVE. The soundtrack, artsiness, and plot I love. <3 It's definitely something to drag your sister to! xD
Key: Eeeeh, the commercial IS lovely! I hope you get the chance to see it. O: <3

I finally got to see this today with a friend! None of my other friends showed much interest in this movie so I'm glad I got to go and watch it after all this time.
I loved it! Some of the songs weren't as good as the others but I loooooved "Strawberry Fields Forever," Evan Rachel Wood's rendition of "Blackbird," and "Hey Jude," although I could've done without the sound of the random banging on trash cans. When Max started crying out "Judey, Judey, Judey!" in the song I was like I love this so much. xD
I loved the part where Jude and Max started singing "Strawberry Fields Forever" and Jude started to paint all his emotions on the wall with the strawberries and red paint. Beautiful scene. My friend and I were the only 2 people in the entire theatre so we got to talk a lot about the film while it was playing. The part with Bono was so psychedelic and acid-trip like rofl. But man, most of the songs were not bad at all (read: good).
So yeah, the main actors in this movie were Jake Gyllenhaal, Leelee Sobieski, and Kurt Cobain. Ok, not really, but I thought the actors playing them resembled them a bit. xDDD~~~ Max (Lucy's brother) was especially gorgeous.
