It's just a little part of something I'm working on, but I wanted to toss the idea out there and see what other types of opinnions and ideas other people have.

So, post FFVII (but pre-Advent Children) Cloud happens to go somewhere and run into the Kingdom hearts version of Aerith. of course, there's no reason for either of them to think that they're anything other than the person they knew from their world at first, but what all do you would expect to happen?

I think Cloud's eyes would bug right out of his head. He'd be really quiet and weird around her because, y'know, she's supposed to be all dead but he wouldn't want to tell her that. Kh!Aeris would be slightly amused by his odd behavior. Also, Cloud wouldn't want her to be out of his sight for a second, but he'd still be awkward and weird about it.

Basically, it'd be cute. And a little sad.

Let's say he finds KH Aerith living in some town quite away from Edge. Like Zelda, I think he'd visit almost constantly to keep an eye on her, though probably not move out of 7th Heaven since there are still those kids to consider (well... okay, he moved to the church, but Sector 5 is still closer to Edge than, say, Gongaga/Kalm/Junon).

People might start thinking he's a stalker and run him outta town with pitchforks, but anyway...

I think he wouldn't want to dig too deeply into knowing why "Aerith" is still alive. That freakish part can stay in the back of his head; he'd rather ignore it in favour of seeing Aerith alive. Maybe I'm building too much on his whole lying-about-my-past thing, but Cloud on his worst days strikes me as being willing to live a dream/nightmare than face reality.

As for Aerith, maybe... she'll be happy the KH1 wing went away? And that Cloud isn't wearing a ragged red curtain for clothing anymore? XD But having the sixth sense she does, she'd probably realise there's something fundamentally different about "Cloud"-- he's less the brooding, almost vengeful guy he is in KH1/2, and more... sad. Yeah. A lot of sadness, weighing him down like an anchor.

I don't think he'd be mistaken for a stalker. Especially not if Aerith wanted him there. Which, I imagine, she would, even if there was minor dimensional problems involved between which Cloud and which Aerith.

All depends. Does SHE associate to him at all?

If no - I think he may begin attempting to get close to her. I mean she is like an exact DOUBLE of his late love. Same name, face, hair, dress, etc. It's a shock she didn't just rise from the feckin' lake.

If yes - They'd probably sit together and try to sort out their conflicting memories. Forming a bond, perhaps?

Well, FFVII Cloud or a very good facsimile thereof does show up in FFT, and finds an alternate Aerith there. That should be kind of a base to build our understanding on from Cloud's side.
However, FFT Aerith didn't know any Cloud before, whereas KH Aerith does. KH Aerith may not be the most perceptive of the Aerith crew, but she's wise enough to know something just isn't the same about this Cloud. But she wouldn't tell him outright, because she'd think it would crush him, and it probably would.
I guess it comes down to Cloud's heart vs. Cloud's mind. Will the overpowering urge to be with Aerith be strong enough to override the discrepancies and the fact he witnessed her death? I ain't betting on Reason here.

Hmm. I like this idea. I was writing something similar once upon a time. I don't remember the exact details, but it was set in the KHverse; somewhere between KHI and KHII, KH!Cloud and FFVII!Cloud somehow get switched around (hence why Cloud has no wing in KHdeux) and the original Cloud ends up living in Hollow Bastion with the FF gang. Uh, everyone thinks he's was mad, because he talks about people they don't know (Barret, Vincent, Red, etc) as if they've all been together for ages, and they assume he hit his head really hard -- while he knows who Cid, Yuffie and Aerith are, he has no idea who Leon is, and so on.

Basically, he goes go a little bit mad, for various reasons -- mainly that Aerith should be dead, and this girl is called Aerith, looks like Aerith, claims to know him, but is breathing just fine, and he can't get over his guilt that he's somehow betraying FFVII!Aerith. Um. And then he sulks off, thinking killing KH!Sephiroth will put him at rest (he's terrified he'll kill KH!Aerith) and trying to get back to his world -- so, this part is pretty much KHII expanded, heh. In the end... he just had to learn to deal with things, really. Yeeeeah, it was kind of a long time ago. :lol:

But yes, in answer to your question: I think there would be a lot of guilt and angst on Cloud's part, and a great deal of confusion for Aerith. It'd be a rocky, mind-f'king road, but I'm sure they'd learn to cope with each other, somehow.

I think i read something like that in ff.net. you can find it in the kh section. its title if i remember right is reunion. Its really nice although very sad :sad:

anyway i kinda agree with lynn on this one.
cloud would probably care less how aeris is still alive :cloud: :aeris: all he wants is to be with her :cleris: (but damm SE wont let that happen bcoz they worry about the clotis too much <_< ).
