Title: Villains And Antagonists
Description: Discuss about villains!

I'm sure there's no other topic about this, on a broad level. This is where people can talk about the main bad guys of stories, manga, shows, etc, that gives the good guys a reason to defeat them. Whether it's a personal grudge all the way to inexcusable crimes, the villains is what oppose the heroes and being either memorable or suck while doing it.
So who are your favourite villains? Your least favourite? The strongest? The worse-developed? Why do you like/dislike them?
I'd give mine after seeing others' posts.

Quite honestly, one of my favourite villains ever is Myotismon from the first series of Digimon. I know that his story-arc was my favourite of that series and he's just a completely cool villain - capes make villains ideal. Plus he's a vampire, you can't get much more sinister than that.
Also, Ofelia's father in Pan's Labyrinth. He was such a great villain because I don't recall ever feeling so much anger directed towards a fictional character. It is even scarier to know that people really were (and worringly, possibly still are) like that.

Favourtie Villains And Why
The Dahaka from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - He was absolutely scary. Plus I loved the fact that he was working toward a good end. The time line said that the Prince was meant to be dead and the Dahaka set out to put things right.
Luca Blight from Suikoden II - Absolutely, positively the biggest most awesome power house and complete psycho. I loved how bonkers he was!
Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 - The #1 scariest villain. I was flipping out when he came up behind me in the tiny corridor. Plus I love all the theories about him. (I tend to go with the one where he represents a side of James)
Professor Hojo from Final Fantasy VII - An all time favourite, I set aside my love of scientist to point out a different interpretation of him. He was obsessed with discovering truths. This lust for truths drove him to madness. To the point of disregarding human life for these truths. I'm a fan of the "obsessed to the point of madness" sort.
Weigraf from Final Fantasy Tactics - He was a noble man before the Lucavi destroyed him. He fought for the liberty of the people. Later to avenge his dead sister Miluda. Sadly, the Lucavi made him into a power hungry mad man. Love to you Weigraf.
Least Favourite Villains and Why
Ultimecia from Final Fantasy VIII - Talk about popping up from no where! It was like "Oh, I was just possessed by teh eval sorceress who u gotta kill!" Plus her motivation stinks.
The Prophet of Truth from Halo - They really could have made him more original and creative but no. He's just so feckin' standard.
Vayne Solidor from Final Fantasy XII - 80's flare hair aside, he's unoriginal. Prince who lusts for power and becomes a monster. He had potential but they fell flat on their face with the execution.
Mafisto from Diablo II - Boring, boring, boring. He brought nothing to the table. He helped me dislike Diablo II.
The Silver Haired Men from Advent Children - Lame, uncreative, uninteresting, boring design, and over all stupid. Where were they during VII!? Gawd!

People finally posted in this thread! :woot:
Some of my favourite villains/antagonists are...
Final Fantasy IX's Kuja - He's got not just the style, but just how he acts throughout the entire game. Admittedly, he confused me with his gender when I'm younger but he made me think of the old-fashioned, good stage villains, despite saying that he's a white knight who get the princess.
Breath of Fire IV's Fou-Lu - One of the villains you actually get to play as and understand his reasons for his views near the end.
Digimon's Myotismon - I'm with you Scott; while Devimon is bad, Myotismon is better and cooler. Heck, he even comes back for the second season!
Mega Man's Wily - He's a mad scientist. Who built robots of mass destruction. Whose influence still exists (i.e. Zero). AND ESCAPED JAIL TO DO IT AGAIN! WOO!
Least favourite? The first thing I can think of is Ultimecia and Mega Man X: Command Mission's Redips. I though they didn't get developed enough, Epsilon is at least eviller then Redips.

Favorite Villains:
Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender. She's cruel, malicious, powerful, a good strategist who thinks on her feet and thinks three steps ahead from everyone. Whenever she's around, people fear her. For good reason. I fear the karmic powers would prove her downfall in the end... still, she provides a challenge to the rest of the characters. And for that I applaud her.
Jadis The White Witch from the Chronicles of Narnia. If you read her backstory in the Magician's Nephew, you'd get chills down your spine. How she happily throws policemen in the London street while she tells them she will destroy this city like she did with the others in her own world. Wow. Plus I love Tilda Swinton, her characterization is spot on.
Morgoth From JRRT's Silmarillion. You think Sauron was bad in LOTR? Well meet his boss and the original Dark Lord. Consider this guy who chains a main character to a chair that allows him to see the world and forced him to watch the destruction of his family in the Children of Hurin. His wife has gone crazy, his children unwittingly committed incest, in which they kill themselves, and then let said mortal go free in hopelessness? Evil. He's so bad the gods have to intervene and had him locked up until the end of middle-earth.
Someone said Fou-Lu. So thumbs up.
Nyx Avatar from Persona 3. How do you defeat Death? It's a good thing Death was given a human persona... he actually feels sad for humanity.
Least liked
As said Ultimecia. She wants to get rid of SeeD in which in turn she led her own destruction... lame~!
Sephiroth and Seymour. Basically people who were twisted by their mother figures and wants to destroy the world because they think it's for their good interests? Whatever.
Voldemort from HP. I honestly find him boring. Seven years he couldn't get rid of the titular character and too busy being incompetent and maniacal, pfft.

Special mention goes to Chrno Crusade's Aion, delightfully awesome, great, have his reasons that I felt both pity yet outrage at the injustice his actions in the manga has brought about.
But hey, he gives bad puns (Thanksgiving turkey, anyone?).
