There hasn't been any news on a game like that from the Tokyo Game Show so I doubt it.

I searched and didn't find news about it either.

Still it reminds me of Yuna's picture from FFX-2 when nobody knew if it was a fake or not. It was the same "almost-naked-costume" problem lol.

I don't think Linoa would dress like this... Except if she had special powers/job.

(I thought about a FFXIII's picture manipulation but Linoa's sword seems original...)

I don't have any solid evidence but I do know a fake when I see it.

The scan quality and the FF logo text quality is completely different. Here's a higher quality picture so you can tell a bit more clearly.

Oh and of course the griever in the back looks nothing like Yoshitaka Amano art. =P

I saw that too! But my friend replied to me:

-is Amano even implicated in the project? Now Square-Enix makes so many sequels/new games with differents artists...
-the page was surely made by a journalist who put the title and the CG art together by himself. Maybe that's why the quality isn't perfect.

See how devilish is my friend? If he's cheating on me I swear I'll make him eat his little Squall figure! (he's a huge fan of FFVIII).

This Photoshop image has been floating around the net confusing fans for at least a year (others say longer), IIRC.

Yoshitaka Amano has done every single numbered Final Fantasy's logo. No exceptions have ever been made. Tell your friend to find ONE (Real, Japanese) numbered FF with a logo that wasn't done by Amano. He'll never find one.

The questions like Rinoa=Ultimatia, origin of the witches power and all that mystic things in the game give enough stuff for more good stories for a compilation I think :)

Square said somewhere a long time ago that Rinoa wasn't Ultimecia, so that was already answered. ^_^

It's hard for me to visualize a compilation of FFVIII. The story isn't as deep as FFVII and the ending was nicely concluded.

I can't see a sequel to FFVIII. The story was pretty nicely concluded. It's even harder because it was a happy ending. X-2 worked because at the end of X, Tiduna was suppose to be a tragic love but the ending to X was suppose to give hope that there could be a happy ending. However, there isn't much left in VIII to explore unless they want to introduce a lot of new stuff.

Ugh, reminds me of that pic that came out while AC was still in the works. It was supposed to be Barret and Tifa kissing in the rain.

Anyway, if there's ever another FFVIII game, it would be nice to make it more prequel-ly. I agree that FFVIII wrapped itself up nicely (romance-wise, at least). And isn't the whole sorceress angle just waiting to be explored?

Heck, considering how little screentime the other characters get, I wouldn't even mind an original character meeting Zell, Irvine, Quistis etc. a la CC!Zack. :lol:

If SE is going to make a FFVIII-based game, it's either 1. exploring the Sorceress thing, like about Adel and Ultimecia or 2. Laguna, 'nough said.

Hah! I'd love a Laguna game. Easiest game ever. Just trick the enemy into going inside of a spacecraft and sending him/her out into space. He's a genius. And after that, just make his son clean up after his mess. =)

Plus the misadventures whenever Laguna skipped military duties; a Laguna game will be pure gold. Also, the crazy things he have to deal with before & after Julia, and after Raine (i.e. a certain sci-fi city).

I think Final Fantasy 8 doesn't deserve a remake if they're just going to put Rinoa or Squall on it again. If they're going to make a remake, I hope they focus on other characters instead. :P I'm sick of all the SquallxRinoa luuurve. :puke: It's becoming so overrated.

And I'm glad that picture is fake. :lol: Otherwise, I'd hate Rinoa more. haha. I mean, look how scantily-clad that woman on the image is. It's like fanservice for the boys once more.

I can understand the circumstances why some of you get sick of SquallXRinoa, but you should consider other people who arent sick of them.

Dont like SquallXRinoa anymore, that's ok, since the love is almost "perfect" unlike Clerith, but you shouldnt tell SE that they mustnt service fans who want a Remake or something like that.

Well, at least that ws the idea going around in my circle of friends.

I always thought it was Barret but now that I look at it...I can see where you could get that Alan. (Perhaps that is the truth...? Who knows.) I just think that what gave it away the most was the "-2". I don't think they'd do that again. If there were a sequel I think they'd do it like the how they have with VII. (i.e. Final Fantasy VIII: Another Lame Sappy Squinoa Love Fest)

Oh...I didn't mean to bash RXS in this thread :o , I have no problem with this paring(actually, I bought tons of their posters when I first played it), it's just I'm more inerested at the details of other characters more than SXR if there's a remake working on. Since RXS's love's been perfectly portrayed in the original game, I'm wondering if SE could shed some light on other characters' emotional worlds.... :wub: I love fanservices!!(but no any LTD,,no noooooooooo NO!)
