Title: The Fashionista!
Description: describe your fashion sense/style here!

Tifa Lockheart - September 20, 2007 09:02 AM (GMT)
I don't know if there's been a thread like this before but.....

Let's talk about fashion? Like, what's your sense of style and what do you think of the latest fashion trends nowadays? Who are your fashion icons, inspiration, etc.

As for me....
For now, I like wearing leggings, skinny jeans, and loose tops (especially striped ones). I experiment on styles, too, but I haven't tried the preppy/sporty ones.

My favourite styles are punk/rock, grunge, and glam. ^_^' Sometimes I mix everything up together.

Characters from various anime/manga and videogames inspire my fashion sense, too.

IMMA COOL, AND I DRESS ZE WAY I WANT. DDD: NO DUMB MOFO CAN TELL ME WHATZ TO DO. D:

Lawl I wear just about anything that catches my eye. :33 Mainly bright, funky, weird clothes. D: Tight pants are my whore, and my spike belt is my bitch. D:

Kaldea - September 21, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
I wear mainly black, tight stuff. Mostly jeans/dress pants and tight, low cut blazer-ish tops, so it's kind of a stylish casual business look. I don't fall into any stereotype because I don't shop at trend whore stores. My boots and my new "half boot sandals" are my babies though.

Around home, I just go with jeans and band shirts.

I don't see how people can dress overly "EMO PUNK", look exactly like everyone else that wants attention and expect to be taken seriously though. It's quite hilarious.

I usually wear dark clothing, black t-shirt with a band on it, black jeans, etc. Though I've recently gotten a little bit lighter (got a white Paramore t-shirt, woo!), because apparently lighter stuff suits me better. *shrug*

DeathGigas - September 21, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
I LIKE WEARINGZ CASULALZ CLOTHEZ D:

D:

Nevi - September 21, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
My style is never consistent. One day I'm wearing a men's dress shirt over a black leotard, the next I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Some days it's shorts, knee socks and a really funky top, and other days it's a frilly dress and stockings.
I dress however I'm feeling. And my favorite clothing items are my Beatles t-shirts.

Zelda - September 22, 2007 12:17 AM (GMT)
I have a lot of jeans. Jean skirts, shorts, etc. Most of my shirts have prints, some of them are solid. I own almost no black, cept for a few pairs of jeans. XD I like to wear sneakers when it's casual, or those ballet like shoes, but sometimes I wear boots.

I have a few summer dresses, but I don't wear them much. And now it's fall, so. D:

Oddishness - September 22, 2007 01:49 AM (GMT)
I dress...

I dunno. D: Sorta indie, I guess?

I wear a lot of brown. Layer my shirts, generally brown + some other dark color. I wear scarfs a LOT (even during summer), and I have brown fuzzy boots that I effin love.

I also have a bunch of brown skirts. <3 I don't wear short skirts, I generally wear the ones that are just past my knees. They're usually brownish with pretty prints on them. And they're usually like, the peasant looking type. (argh I can't explain D: )

And I'm ALWAYS wearing earrings. Generally big pretty ones. I wear lots of jewelry, actually. Mostly brown or light brown beaded necklaces and stuff, plus I have a some silver necklaces that I really like.

I ALWAYS wear long jeans, I don't own anything that comes up higher than my knees. Basically, I don't know why the heck I live in California. :lmao: I hate dressing for warm weather.

shorts and sleeveless shirts are both FAIL :tard:

Jeans. Black or blue, low rise (not so low rise that I get what we call in the UK 'builder's bum' though, haha) jeans that make my butt look good. I never wear skinny jeans, cause I have to wear skyscraper heels with them to be able to pull them off, and I prefer to reserve skyscraper heels for when I go out at night, not when I go shopping. They do look good tucked into boots though. (Skinnies, not skyscraper heels.) As for tops, I wear camisoles vests/tees with 80's slogans or prints. I like wearing brightly coloured tops. I do have a few 'girly' style tops with puff sleeves and ditzy prints, but I'm more likely to throw on a tee to lounge around in. Oh, and when it gets colder, there's nothing better than a wool oversized jumper to snuggle up in!

When I go out clubbing with my friends, I always seem to end up wearing a dress. I don't wear long dresses, but if my dress is really short, I'll put leggings on underneath it, or shorts if I feel like getting my legs out. I love shoes, so I have lots to choose from when I'm going out. I bought a pair of silver wedges, but they're a bit too big. *cries*

What are everyone's favourite online clothing shops? I'm always at Topshop, and I love Asos for jewellery, they always have something quirky to catch my eye. TruffleShuffle is great for print tees, like this Alice in Wonderland one. They're also just about perfect for an 80's child. The Saved by the Bell tees made me squee.

For shoes, I stick with Irregular Choice or Schuh.

You guys mentioned Band shirts.... I love band shirts, but I can only wear them at home since they're mostly for the boys. They're very loose.
I have 3 band shirts that fit me a little well: Nirvana, Incubus, and The Cure. But I want more. haha.

I love my band shirts too. I have a Green Day one from a concert a few years back that's really comfy. I got an Incubus shirt at the concert I went to a couple weeks ago and I'm practically living in it. I love Incubus. *Squeez*

Resha - September 22, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
I guess, whatever makes me feel comfortable, and whatever may suit me just to look glamorous. XD Though, I'm a bit choosy on brands.

Vanilla - September 22, 2007 02:28 PM (GMT)
I love graphic tees and stretch jeans. I rarely wear skirts because I find it hard to move. For shoes, I love sneakers and flip-flops.

I don't follow trends, I follow my own.

Sadhana - September 23, 2007 12:49 AM (GMT)
It's difficult to classify my style since it varies depending on my mood. But I love to layer clothing, I stick mostly with neutral colors, and I try to keep it comfortable. If I had to call it anything, I'd call it relaxed and urban.

Band t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans are my three staples. I almost NEVER wear mini-skirts or shorts because I'm really not comfortable showing off my thighs. Leggings never really grew on me, so I mostly wear long skirts or pants. My favorite bag is one I got at The Strand (a used bookstore a few blocks from where I live) for $10. I have this silver ring of Buddha meditating that I never take off. Oh, and I never leave my dorm without my big brown sunglasses. B)

As far as shoes go, I usually wear sandals and sneakers. High heels are adorable, but I have to walk 20-30 city blocks everyday so they're just not practical to wear except on formal occasions. So instead, I stick with my crappy but lovable converses that I've had for five years now. :P

My fashion inspirations are the character of Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Audrey Hepburn, and Mandy Moore. At the moment, I really want an Arcade Fire band t-shirt and this Dumbledore's Army t-shirt.

haymuvyn - September 23, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
I love to layer <33 and I'm a bargain hunter!
I like most types of clothes.
To me it's not about what clothes you wear, but HOW you wear them.
But...I absolutely hate sweats! Urg I just cant wear sweats out in public. I despise them! :tard:

NekoDono - September 23, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
I'm rolling a combo of punk, grunge, and hippie. I wear shredded up jeans, a t-shirt or tank with something written on it or the alike, a jacket, tons of necklaces, a black glove and sleeve, and a red bandanna. I try to be creative. ^_^

Tifa Lockheart - September 25, 2007 08:13 AM (GMT)
Do you guys tend to stand out from the rest of the crowd because of what you're wearing? Do people tend to stare strangely at you whenever you're walking around wearing what you're wearing?

I love wearing stripes and one time I went to the mall wearing a long striped top (black and white) with leggings and flip-flops. I received a lot of stares, it's quite uncomfortable. But those people were wearing the generic shirt, jeans, and flipflops combo. I figured I must have looked weird but upon realizing that I am very different from the sea of people in that place, I felt better.

People in this country where I'm living in are quite conservative when it comes to dressing up, which is really annoying sometimes because there are several occasions wherein I'm pressured not to wear whatever I want just so I could fit in.

MistaCloudStrife - September 25, 2007 10:38 AM (GMT)
Usually just wear baggy jeans, a shirt and a hoodie. Color doesn't really matter to me as long as it matches. I've been into brown these days though. Brown and black looks nice to me. As for shoes... I've been wearing some chucks lately. Not classic all star,(Have a pair I've never worn, they don't look good on me) but they still look nice imo. I'll also wear New Balance(Got it from Initial D =)), Lugs(The heavy kind), or or any type of shoe that I can wear loosely.

illwaitforever1 - September 26, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
Jeans, I really love jeans. I normally wear dark purple or black tops. I suppose you could call me punk/goth/emo coz of the clothes I wear.

As for shoes, trainers. End of disscussion.

I do like to stand out though, so sometimes I wear bright colours that blind people XD

Miracle_Angel02 - September 30, 2007 04:38 AM (GMT)
Well I wear a lot of casual clothes. Sports-Tees, Jackets, Jeans blah blah blah. And also for footwear I only have my Black converses (Low cut) and my Pumas! and yeah...Thats all! nothing too fancy. :)

Lynn - September 30, 2007 08:53 AM (GMT)
Pants: Jeans. Jeans jeans jeans. You rarely have to iron them out (mine are so heavy that gravity does half the work for me!) and you only have to wash them twice a year... kidding, kidding! XD But they're very durable, and I'm a natural klutz so I'm at least spared the agony of ripping a hole through my jeans.

I have some three-quarter jeans that reach past my knee/around my calves, but those are mostly for when I'm going down to the cafeteria for munchies. For classes I almost always stick to long jeans.

I seem to only wear skirts for official function-type stuff. And even then, I've found those casual work-pants kinda things, so... ohohoho. Might say goodbye to skirts permanently.

Tops: Loose T-shirts for home. Those not-skin-tight-but-still-has-that-female-shape type of tees. I guess people loosely call them "tops". I've recently begun wearing sleeveless but I'm still uncomfortable showing so much skin (er, well, [i]that[i]'s prudish... but it's all relative, right? XD) so I usually throw an unbuttoned shirt over it. Plus, I'm a total weakling so spending any time in a sleeveless top in an air-conditioned lecture theatre has me sneezing all over.

Recently the combo's been black sleeveless top + black jeans + random-coloured shirt.

Feet: Slip-on sandals ftw! Either that, or sneakers.

<.< >.> Yeah, I like clothing that I can throw on within 15 minutes and I'm out the door.

Hmm... Normally I'd say I'm a wallpaper, but studying in Arts has plonked me right in the midst of girls who, ah, "dress up". A lot. Like, I wonder how early they wake up before class just to put on half the stuff they have on them.

But no, no staring that I'm aware of. Most of them probably think I'm a lost soul from the Engineering Faculty who somehow wandered into their stylish domain, anyway. XD

Most of the time, you'll usually spot me in some sort of polo shirt and jeans of different blues. I just recently started wearing shorts for the first time in my life. I've always been a jeans type of person, but the last time I went clothes shopping, I decided to get some this time. Like right now I'm wearing a white and blue Urban Pipeline polo t-shirt and Urban Pipeline cargos. Oh yeah, if I'm not wearing a polo, you'll probably see me wearing a plain white t-shirt. Gotta love my white t-shirts... lol.
