It's best not to trust IMDb for the time being (they never get it right). Just wait for the offical cast from SE.

I'd wait until SE gives us the official information, though using the English VAs from AC is HIGHLY likely.

What I'm curious about is how Steve Burton will do Cloud's heart-wenching scream... :cloud:

I know. That's basically what all of us are waiting for from the English version: how good Mena is gonna do and Steve's version of Cloud's scream.

I'll bet Steve Burton will be Cloud in CC, too. He's been Cloud for what? *Can't think* Almost every time Cloud has had a speaking role? I'm fine with it too, just as long as he doesn't give Cloud that deep 23-year-old-emo voice like he had in AC. He's supposed to be 16 for much of the game!

I just pray he doesn't mess up any of Cloud's dialogue at the end or the scream...which I kinda think he can't handle. -_-

S'what most of us are thinking, I bet. xD Steve Burton did a really good job as angsty Cloud in Advent Children and such, but I'm not sure he can pull off a teenager's boyish voice (I have my fingers crossed for that gut-wrenching scream in the ending, too). Hopefully, he can. Or they get someone to do the younger Cloud's voice who sounds like Steve Burton's Cloud may have sounded if he were younger. Whew, mouthful.

As for Mena Suvari: She's a beautiful, fantastic actress, but her voice acting sucks, end of story. I don't even know how she makes it sound like she's speaking through a tin can whenever she reads her lines. She was awful in both Kingdom Hearts II and Advent Children so if she does end up doing Crisis Core Aerith, I'm not gonna have my hopes up that she'll do a good job. Hopefully, she's been practicing fervently and improved major or they don't hire her to do Aerith again. Sounds mean, I know, bt Aerith is my favorite character and I don't like listening to her get mangled like that. xD

Well, if Mena doesn't do it after voicing Aerith for an important installment such as AC, then imagine Aerith having three English VA's (why would they have Mandy Moore return if they didn't use her for KHII and AC?). I'm sure that would be awkward and... sorry to say, far-fetched. ^^; I thought Suvari was fine in AC, but uh, not so much in KHII, honestly. x)

I have to admit, I'm scared for her performance in CC. I'm inferring that AC was better because of a certain echoey affect... but Mena has to deliver much emotion in this game. I hope she has improved over the years. I just hope! ^_^;

Kingdom Hearts II, at any rate), so hopefully she surprises us all and pulls it off. x)

I wonder, is a cute and lively Mena Suvari even possible? I mean, Aerith has always been a lively, cheerful character but even more so in CC. If Mena couldn't pull off KH Aerith, it's sort of difficult to imagine what she'd be like with CC Aerith. :lol:

In all honesty though, I'm willing to give her another shot at it. That's probably because I don't think any of the english VAs are all that fantastic to begin with anyhow (except the guy who did Reno, of course). Besides, there's always a chance that she'll do well. Can't judge someone until they've done it, I suppose.

Ze awesome echo effect. Funny thing is, I thought it was sort of the opposite with Maaya Sakamoto. She's excellent either way, but I like her voice better without the echo.

The only Aerith VA I like is Maaya Sakamoto~! <33 She does Aerith so perfectly. xD If only she spoke English, huh? xD

I'll give Mena a second chance....Although she's never cheerful sounding. xD She just has this ethereal sound, which isn't exactly what Aerith is...xD

Well she does sing english songs. Her english is not perfect but I would prefer that to Mandy Moore or Mena Suvari any time.
I love Maayas voice. When I realized aeris would get a voice in AC I never thought it possible to find a real voice that could fit, but Maaya just does it. Every other voice acting atempt for aeris gives me the creeps, however.

Anyway, I still vote for Maaya as english va. Or better yet for keeping the japanese audio optional in the english and european version.

I really doubt Steve Burton will do a good job screaming because with every dubbed anime/game that involves screaming, the US never do a good a job.
I know they try to make it sound like the Japanese, but they can't do it like the seiyuus can. ( sorry, I'm a bit biased ^^; )
I just watched GSD when Stellar dies and Shinn's whimpering.. - tear - So much emotion... Bet the US ruined that part.. =(

And as for Mena, =P
If she didn't have that monotone voice in KHII then maybe, just maybe, she could be good for Aerith... But besides that, I hope they find a different VA for Aerith, or else just put in subtitles for CC and give us the original voices, dammit!
