Title: What Is That Everyone Has To Be Jerks...
Description: Even when they;ve graduated or are older

So the other day I went up to Grandforks to get my girlfriends sister so that they could spend some time together in town. So we went up and got her and we where on the way back to Moorhead, but I had to stop and get some gas and grab something to eat, thankfully the gasstation doubled as a BK. Anyways so Im filling up my tank and it finishes so Im starting to walk inside. about 2-3 days prior to this event my girlfriend had bought me this awesome pokemon shirt with the original starters and pikachu on it that said pokemon above them. SO i was wearing this awesome T-Shirt, when three kids are sitting outside and are like.

"Pokemon is so sexy!" and than right as I walk inside they yell "Not!"

so I shrugged that off but the second I get inside I throw my $10 on the counter and let her know that its for gas and I turn around and the girl is like "Hey wait!" So I stop and turn around and they just give me more shit about pokemon, do I have cards, go get them lets play, I have charizard, blah blah blah.

Another time I was work talking to some of my friends, and we were chatting about pokemon, and one of my bosses was working and he doesn't like me very much and always is throwing insults at me about pokemon or anything. So I got into this arguement with a co-worker who was being a total jerk, and all m y boss says is "Well at least we don't play pokemon." and its like what the hell...your 27 years old and you still insult everyone around you. None of my other bosses say anything, and I actually got one of them with like 2 or 3 other co-workers to play pokemon.

Anyway my question really is, why is it that people always have to insult or make fun of others, even after they've graduated or are older than 27. It just seems really lame to me...but hey thats my rant thanks in advance for your comments/advice.

I guess some people just have to be that way because they don't understand that not everyone has the same interests as them. You know, it's kind of 'well, I don't play Pokemon, and I am a regular person, so it's obviously not what a regular person would do'. It's stupid, I know, but that's how some people are. My schoolfriends used to be the same way with me, they'd ask me why I play videogames because there are 'so many other things I could be doing'. They just couldn't get their heads around the fact that I liked playing videogames when it wasn't something they personally liked to do.

As for people who just generally seem to like to insult other people, Eddie Izzard said it best when he was talking about people who shout at you in the street.

"And actually there's a code, when they shout - if people shout at you, there's actually a code. When they're shouting at you, 'Oi, darling! Oi, darling!' means 'I'm a wanker! I'm a wanker! I am a wanker! We all are, aren't we?"

:( Unfortunately the world is full of mean people of every age, the best you can do is be the better person and let it slide no matter how much it annoys you.

This is a world where people are full of opinions, and people love to argue their opinions. Some are important, and others are petty, but that's how it goes. The real key to things is to be comfortable in who you are and what you like, or to hide it if you can't be. Every time you reveal something about yourself, it will get judged whether you want it to or not. Some might agree, and be nice, or they might insult you, or sometimes be mature enough to disagree in a way that isn't meant to ridicule. That's just how people are. So there's only two things you can do, enjoy what you like openly, and be willing to take any insults, or possibly be able to respond to it in a calm way that isn't bothered by it, or you hide what you like unless around people you know wont be mean. I personally am on the comfortable with my interests side, but most people don't know anyway unless I mention it. I don't wear anime shirts, video game hats, and such, so it's just if I mention it or happen to be reading/playing games/doing whatever many interests I have at that moment that they see. (*has gotten way to fashion conscious and doesn't think most of the shirts have sexy fitting to them* xD)

All people, no matter how old they are, have certain levels of immaturity in them. It's inevitable. I myself admit to doing those things but afterwards, I feel about it especially when I realize that the person doesn't deserve those mean words. I apologize to those people and try to change things with myself.

The sad thing is, not everybody is capable of reflecting on whether they have been jerks or not towards other people.

It's like high school all over again when it happens. Like, they get this sick satisfaction just by putting other people down.

I'd just tell them to kiss my ass and respect what I you like. :33 Their isn't a reason why they need to be assholes about it. Their your friends right? Friends shouldn't pick and bitch about that.
