A fun topic (I hope)! :lol:

Okay, let's pretend that Square decided to film one scene (much like the original idea for AC which involved a 20-minute scene starring Cloud and Tifa) from the original game, and it turned out that the scene chosen involved Cloud and Aeris...which would you like it to be and how would you like to see it play out visually?

I'll go first...

Personally, I wouldn't want anything too heavy. For example, Aeris' death scene would just break my heart - I'd like something lighter than that, but I'd also like something a little new and surprising.

The scene I'd actually like to see filmed isn't actually a C/A scene. The scene I'd actually REALLY love to see filmed (for some reason) is the scene in Bugenhagen's Laboratory when you first learn about the Lifesteam. I really love that scene, even though it's not strictly C/A; and I think it'd be great if it was filmed with a C/A twist to it. I can just imagine Cloud and Aeris in there with Bugenhagen, watching the display. I'd really love to see the "Hey! A shooting star!" moment done in proper CGI - it'd be such a lovely little scene. And I can just imagine how the rest of it would play out...

The musical piece "Lifestream" (or a modified-for-film version of it) is playing, the room's glowing green with the Lifestream display, Cloud and Aeris are standing on opposite sides of the model of the Planet. Cloud is looking sombre and serious, Aeris is riveted and enchanted by what she's seeing. Then, while Bugenhagen explains about the Lifestream and we see trees and humans being born and dying, their spirit energy merging and swirling over the Planet. The focus is on Bugenhagen and his words, as well as the Planet display. The room is filled with light, and we see a close-up of Cloud's face, green with reflected light, concentrating. Then, he steals a glance across the chamber at Aeris, looking at the display with a soft and thoughtful look on her face, also appearing green from the glowing light. Sensing Cloud's gaze, her eyes meet his and lock for a moment. She gives him a warm, sweet smile. He looks at her for a moment, green light colouring her face. Hesitantly, he smiles back and self-consciously looks back at the model. I think it could be such a tender and poignant little moment; giving a foreshadowing of the future... I'd really love to see a similar interrpretation of thar scene in film.

I would like to see their first meeting or should say second meeting when Cloud crashes trough the roof of Aeris' church. That would be SO sweet. :wub:

Yes! Or their date at the gold saucer, OR when cloud dresses as a girl at the wall market ;)

The scene when Cloud and Aeris talk in the Sleeping Forest. It just felt so meaningful because they were alone surrounded by nature and their words were so personal. ^_^

I think I'd love to see the Date scene more than anything, but I want to see what happened after Aerith said, "I want... to meet you." :lol: I think that'd be such a beautiful scene with the fireworks going off in the Gondola. I'd love to see that.

My second choice would be when Cloud and Aerith are sitting around the fire at Cosmo Canyon and Cloud says, "I'm... we're here for you". :rolleyes:

It'd be beautiful to see the hand reach scene, though, too. Gah, I can't decide!! :lol:

There are actually a few scenes which I would like to see of Cloud with Aerith in the movie.

First and most of all is the scene when Cloud dropped in the church. I found that scene cute and I'm wondering how it would look like if it were in the movie :D.

Second would be the scene in Cosmo Canyon , which was by the Cosmo Candle. I would like to see the way Cloud talks to her in that scene :P.

Third , I'd like to see the scene when they were in the Forgotten City, the place where Aerith was praying. I know they showed the scene when she was buried , but I just thought maybe it would be suitable if they showed how she died with the burial scene :ph43r: .

Yeah I'd like to see this scene too :D

The scene I'd love to see would have to be when Cloud and Aerith escape from the Turks after he falls into the church. I loved their interaction in that scene, their playful conversation. I'd like to see Cloud laugh, and Aerith's mock-angry expression as she says "You're terrible!".

I love the scene you described, Hyper. I'd never thought of the Flow of Life scene in that way before - but you're right, it would be a great opportunity for Square to make pretty with the glowing effects and also show Aerith's reaction (and Cloud watching her :wub:). It's funny, while reading your description of the scene, I broke it down into manga panels in my head... I've never seen a doujinshi including that scene, but it'd be nice if there were. I think I've been reading too much lately. :lol:

Don't hate me for saying this (even though you probably will anyway) but I reckon the best Cloud/Aeris scene to film would be Aeris' Death.

Why? I hear you all asking.

Well because Cloud has a massive emotional spill. He lets out all of his emotions and feelings for Aeris while holding her body to himself crying out loud (which is more rare than you might think for a Hero of Cloud's calaber).
It would be a massive emotional moment and one that should be shown in the full beauty of CGI.

It's funny that you should say that you saw it in manga-panels, because when I first thought it up, that's exactly how I saw it in my head, especially when I was trying to describe it! :lol:

If they were to show Aeris' death, I wouldn't want them to show the exact details...her praying on the altar, Sephy running his sword right through her...I think that would be rather morbid, especially in AC renderings *shiver* I wouldn't mind, though, seeing the AC version of everybody's reaction to Aerith's death: Cloud bent over her, Tifa running away in tears, Yuffie sobbing on Cloud's shoulder, Red 13 howling at the sky, and so on. It could be done in a very quick flashback and it would add emotional impact to the wearing of pink ribbons on everybody's arms.

There's another scene I had in mind: Cloud's first meetings with Aerith. Maybe they could show him bumping into her on the streets of Midgar, and after their exchange, him staring after her with the flower clutched in his hand and a look of slight disbelief and bemusement on his face at the thought something as innocent as flower girl in such a garish, mechanical place as Midgar.(I know, I know...it's kind of shoujo-animeish for a game like FF7.^_^ )Then later, as he wakes up in the Church and watches her tend to her flowers, slight incredulity once again crosses his face, but this time followed by a softness, as if he is moved by her capability to bring life to an old, abandoned Church. For me, this would show her place as the light in Cloud's life, as well as a source of hope, in an otherwise desolate world :cleris:
...and then a closeup of 'present day' Cloud, with a wistful, very sad smile on his face as he remembers these times.

Or maybe her funeral, but not her death. I just want to see Cloud untying her hair...

Two scenes that are above the others for me. One is obviously Aerith's death, that is simply so emotional that I want it in the movie just to see how people would react to it. From all the way from the praying to when Cloud lets go of Aerith and lets her fall to her final resting place.
The other scene I would just love is Wall Market...oh what I would give to see Aerith make Cloud all pretty with those graphics. ^_^

I would like to see Aeris's death and when Cloud puts her in the water. It's so sweet...

I'd love to see, at some point of the beginings of the movie, Cloud in Aerith's church, remembering when he fell from the roof, and the first time when he actually met Aerith, till the part when they are talking about Aerith joining SOLDIER, and them laughing, after they escaped from the Turks. :cleris:

Also when they were talking in the park, before they went to save Tifa. And, the last moments of their date, when Aerith told him, she wanted to "meet" him.

...The one in the Gold Saucer when they're together inside that... booth, whatever you call that... and watching the chocobo racers...(?) *my mind is really clouded right now...*

Where Cloud laffs. Becoz it's the only time you ever see him laff (maybe in the film too) and/or when he falls through the roof, becoz I think it would be really funny to see Cloud get all nervous with good CGI. :cleris:

It'd be cool if they showed a scene of him thinking of her, and flashed through scenes of them together. That way we could get short clips of all our favorite moments. Then show a close-up of a tear coming from his eye and rolling down his cheek. Then he could whisper her name and turn away. Then we'll change the scene to Tifa and Barret! :devil: Yeah right, but I can dare to dream, lol.

I'd like to see the very end sequence, where the lifestream is comig out and then the image of Aeris appears and smiles.

what if there was a flash back of the hand-reach scene? that would be wonderful in proper CGI and graphics. :cleris:

Along Eternity's Lines, I would love see the firworks and then the camera zooms into the Gondola, where you see cloud and aeris looking out of the window. that would be so romantic....^_^

The date! The fireworks were really pretty, and there was some good dialogue in the gondola. Or maybe the funeral scene... Sad but poignent.

Mostly the usual. ^_^ The date, the part after Cloud lands in the Church, the burial, the death scene... Ah, mostly everything everyone has mentioned already. =D
