Hey, everyone! Thanks to Hyper-Ballad's suggestion, we have come up with a CloudxAerith 100 Themes Challenge for the forum! It will be open to one-sentence or full-length fanfiction as well as fanart entries. Please try not to pick the same theme as someone else, and if you do, it would be better if it's for a different category. Though we really aren't imposing any restrictions. For example, write a fanfic if someone is already doing a fanart for a particular theme. It would be great if you could post to say which theme you would like to reserve, so that everyone knows which themes have been taken. Reserved themes will be italicized.

If you will be writing a full-length fanfiction, please post it somewhere else like in the Fanfiction forum or on fanfiction.net, LiveJournal etc and paste a link to the fanfic in your post. One-sentence entries can simply be written here and will be pasted into this first post. Hopefully we'll manage to fill up all the themes with one-sentence entries quickly so that everyone has something to read! You can also enter a full-length fanfiction made up of all the 100 themes as single sentences. We will also be editing this first post to include all entries posted by you guys. 1. Beginning ~ As she follows him out of the broken church roof, Aeris realizes that he helped her for next-to-nothing, that even though he'd been hurt by his fall he'd rushed back into danger for the sake of someone he barely knew, like a genuine hero - and she starts to wonder that maybe this is somebody she should get to know better.
2. Lovely
3. Garden ~ "If you just respect the earth under your feet, it'll work miracles for you," she'd said when he'd asked her, in a long-overdue afterthought, about her garden and as usual she tried to downplay her specialness, but he'd always been able to see straight through to it.
4. Rain
5. Snow ~ I) Both of them watching the snow while it fell, Cloud thought Aeris was so pure, as pure as untrodden snow.
II) Maybe it's a just coincidence that Sephiroth's trail leads deeper and deeper into a frozen wasteland, or maybe all life and warmth really did leave the world when she died.
6. Promise, 2
7. Train ~ She knows she could die, and thinks a lot about Cloud's train analogy, finding comfort – even if this is unavoidable destiny and she can't go anywhere except where her tracks lead her, her journey has been a happy one and someone amazing and beautiful has been sitting next to her for the last and best part of it, and that's enough.
8. Green ~ Everything is still and soft here in the jade glow, and Aeris smiles in spite of everything, but Cloud's not ready for that and it breaks a small part of him to see her so sure and brave, as she tells him secrets he can't yet decipher, the two of them surrounded by the green leaves inside his mind.
9. Drowning ~ He felt himself drowning, his senses assaulted by the familiar yet unfamiliar of the Lifestream; unknowing that his body was gradually guided toward the shores of Mideel by something soothing and warming.
10. Sleep ~ She lay there, sleeping soundly without a care in the world, in his arms; slowly he leaned to kiss her pale forehead for a moment like this may never happen again.

11. Loveless ~ I) "I'll come back when it's over," she says with a sad smile, nothing like truth in her voice; years pass, and he thinks he's still waiting.
II) I never understood this movie until I met you.
12. Silver ~ A glint of silver and a maniac laughter rang across his head as blood scattered across his hands... his gleaming blue eyes widened and his breathing was cut short as his heart broke into millions of irreplaceable pieces.
13. Chaos ~ Everywhere he went was chaotic, his fragile mind was about to break from hearing the deadly voices that occupied his mind...yet her gentle laugh soothes his damned soul.

17. Lake ~ It tears his heart apart, seeing the serene smile on Aerith's face, as he slowly and carefully lowered her down, as if afraid to break her; her body sinking down, her hair fanning out, as she was laid down to rest.
18. Flower ~ There’s something about them that made them special; Midgar Slums' conditions made it hard to grow them, so a simple flower seems to brighten up their lives; to Cloud, they not only let him first meet Aerith but also cushioned his fall, to see her again in the Church.
19. Sky ~ He was unusually tired, laying down on his bed, with himself tangled with the blankets, alone at his closed and dark room. He started to cough and tried to breathe in fresh air, it looked as if he was having heart attacks. She went on his side with a smile and said, "As far as I know, aren't clouds supposed to be up at the sky?"
20. Moment ~ No matter how trivial or insignificant they may be, every moment they had shared together, he’ll cherish them always.

24. Whisper ~ I) Cloud hears whispers when he's alone, sometimes, whispers running through the abandoned old Church, and they're far too warm and fleeting to be nothing more than the wind caught between the flowers.
II) I can hear a soft and silent whisper at night, the kind that soothes my nightmares and wakes me into the reality; the Planet... no, she is talking to me, assuring me everything will be alright.
25. Dream ~ He can feel lips pressing against his own, tracing invisible lines across his jaw and neck; and when the sensation snaps, when the light meets his eyes and he sits up, breathless and sweaty, the scent of flowers on his ruffled pillow tell him it might not be a dream at all.
26. Breathless ~ The first time they meet she's the first to walk away and disappear into the crowd, and even then his curiosity is piqued and he feels himself wanting to follow, though he can already tell she's the kind of girl you can never really catch up with.
27. Falling ~ Falling...falling, further and further, crashing, banging and a sweet voice, looking into the eyes of an angel.
28. Eternity ~ And although he could neither see nor touch her anymore, Aerith would still be his, forever and never.
29. Serenade ~ It's not until the morning after that Cloud realizes Aeris spent so much time last night prodding and encouraging everyone to sing at Costa del Sol's Karaoke bar that she never got a chance to have her own turn, and he wonders what her singing voice is like.
30. Tickles ~ It's a quiet day and all that's on the agenda is gathering a few items and collecting hearsay whilst keeping a low profile, but Aeris is the kind of girl who interprets "low profile" as "false names and detailed history" and Cloud chokes on air for a second when she introduces him to strangers as a wandering Chocobo-racer named Clyde, wondering what it is about his reaction that tickles her so much.

31. Obsession ~ He needed to see her again, to confess his love, otherwise he would go crazy with need, he needed her, he was obsessed.
32. Déjà vu
33. Lifestream ~ It was over, finally finished, and while Cloud stood in the darkness, Lifestream began to swirl around him, and he knew she was with him, forever and a day.
34. Flying ~ Looking out the windows, watching the clouds as the Highwind flew hurriedly towards their next destination; Aerith’s dream of riding an airship was gracing his mind, making Cloud know that her dream will be left unfulfilled.
35. Timeless ~ It's as simple as this: Tifa helps him remember who he is and where he came from, but it's Aeris who shows him where he's going.
36. Proposal, 2 ~ As he kneeled on the ground, a box in his hand, he looked up into the emerald he knew so well, and saw tears, "Marry me Aeris," he said, and he was the happiest man alive when he heard her answer, "Yes."
37. Skin, 2
38. Stolen
39. Warmth ~ He laid happily in bed, Aerith on one side and his little son Sora on the other. He was so happy there. He felt a sudden unusual warmth spreading...then he realized his son had wet the bed.

White ~ Cloud never tried to avoid Elena's punch and when her fist slams into his nose, making blood gush and his skull ring, he feels nothing as he collapses back into the snow except distant gratitude for a few minutes' release from grief as a blurred white takes over his vision and carries him from all pain.
42. Princess ~ Cloud slowly knelt down on one knee and lifted Aerith’s hand to his lips; he gently kissed it, like a fairytale knight toward his princess.

Water ~ Water is definitely my element and that's a little tough to come to terms with sometimes; I kind-of flow through and around people, effecting them and encouraging change just by being there and being what I am, but Cloud was always the one person I wanted to leave a real impression on for once.
46. Life ~ With her cheerful smile, glinting eyes, and upbeat attitude, whenever their lips touched, Aeris breathed life into Cloud.
47. Death ~ He's dead, crying and laughing as he falls to his knees in the Promised Land, one hand wrapped around hers, and he says, still choked up, "We're together again, and already saying goodbye feels like it was nothing; I found you in the end, Aerith."
48. Insomnia ~ Cloud stared blankly at the tent’s wall; many restless nights have passed since her passing and without her, he felt there’s no need to sleep; his grief, anger and emptiness kept him up, eating him, reminding himself of that moment.
49. Darkness
50. Light, 2 ~ Maybe Holy will be the end of us all, but I can't imagine Aeris praying for it knowing that, so she must've had hope in us - that's how she is...was.

52. Church ~ The air was silent as the brilliant light from the twilight sky crept down the ancient walls... constantly falling, illuminating on a shadow that dwelt in the past and continued to be haunted by the memories of a girl that once healed him of his scarred soul.

54. Beach ~ Despite everything Hojo's done to her and her mother, Aeris could never bring herself to fully hate him, but as he reclines on the sand and tauntingly asks Cloud to be his guinea-pig, and she imagines all she's been through happening to her blue-eyed bodyguard, the Shiva materia in her staff glows bright and fierce as the sun.

Sinking ~ She was sinking in the depths of the lake, eyes closed and a frozen smile on her colorless lips that would never laugh or speak again but as the darkness surrounded her lifeless body she would never compare the pain she is experiencing now than to be separated from the one she truly loved...

59. Prayer~ Upon the altar, wishing for peace, she gave him the last smile she'd ever give, before she met her end, in prayer.
60. Resurrect, 2 ~ Red dust greets Cloud's eyes as they flutter open; his injuries are healed, his body is refreshed, and he notices that the fight is over and green eyes are peering down at him as a pink mouth smiles and whispers, "Welcome back."

61. Worlds ~ Years passed, and eventually a film came out, which Cloud had mildly considered going to see, but that impulse died when he happened to see a trailer featuring her, and although the actress was lovely her voice was all wrong, and worlds away from the Aeris he'd known.
62. Destiny ~ There's a ringing in his head, and he thinks it's always been there; scathing and scratching, until she smiles through Midgar's grime and the whole world falls silent.
63. Wind
64. Sunset
65. Heart, 2 ~ For a while she wondered about him, and half-hoped that somehow Zack had come back to her through him, but weeks go by and the day comes when she realizes once and for all that that he hasn't, and she's shocked by the intense relief that fills her heart.
66. Forever ~ Her skull may be nothing more a shell smoothed by time and resting in the deep bed of the lake by now, but as his hand reaches down and touches the water, he still feels as though she's listening to him.
67. Radiant ~ She stood there, in the middle of the flower field... Smiling as if there's nothing wrong with the world. I found myself smiling, hoping that this would never end. I'm beginning to envelop in her radiance... which I thought would never happen to a sinner like me.
68. Love ~ One night Cloud half-pleaded with her to explain to him why she stayed, why she took the risk of getting involved, why she followed his words and premonitions and put herself into danger, and why she cared so much, and Aeris simply smiled and said, "Ask me again someday."
69. Distance ~ No matter what the distance, no matter how far Cloud rode on Fenrir, no matter how far away from her flower field he was, she was beside him, always.

71. Time ~ Aerith was full of promises and secret whispers, and all the truth in the world seemed to be reflected in her eyes; perhaps that's why Cloud was still waiting for her, even though he knew the Promised Land wasn't hidden away in the flower fields.

76. Stars ~ Sitting on the hill overlooking Midgar, Cloud looked up at the sky, and wondered if Aeris had become one of them twinkling overhead, a bright star in the night sky.
77. Hotel ~ He slid the keycard, opened the door, stepped inside - but none of that made the fact that Aerith wasn't following behind him this time any more real.
78. Ribbon ~ It broke Tifa's heart with a mangled mix of sympathy and agony to see Cloud so broken, destroyed in body and mind as he trembled and gibbered, and to also realize that although his right hand might never again lift a sword or hold her own; screwed tightly in its fist, as if it was all he had in the world, was a pink ribbon.
79. Sun
80. Tea ~ At last Cloud settles down and sips his tea, but the sudden sound of Shinra arrivals outside forces him to rise and give it up, and Aeris catches his eye with a sympathetic look and says, "It's not fair, is it?", and something about the gentle sadness of her tone chills his blood.

82. Soft ~ Aeris staggers towards the foul-smelling vapor as it clears, and finds a petrified effigy where Cloud used to stand, his eyes no longer vivid blue but stone and dead, and sheer panic smothers her as she ransacks her own bag and fumbles desperately for the antidote.

85. Date ~ Considering Tifa's prior claim on Cloud's heroic abilities, Aeris guessed that the kind thing to do was to release him from his similar promise to her, but she sorely wanted to continue owing him a date - in fact, she didn't mind the idea of falling deep into debt and having to break even with several dates and maybe a kiss goodnight or two.
86. Dress ~ Aeris remembers the cute red dress she bought at Wall Market and wishes she could've kept it for something as special as her date tonight; not knowing that for Cloud, her eyes and smile were all she ever needed.

89. Fireworks ~ “I want to meet...you,” Aerith said to Cloud; before their conversation could continue, it was interrupted by the fireworks outside, drawing their attention as they watched in a comfortable silence.
90. Umbrella ~ “You can stand under my umbrella...” she sings without shame, and Cloud actually finds himself liking that damn song.

93. Kiss ~ Why is it that every genuine smile he sends in my direction feels like a kiss?

95. Family ~ I) She leaned forward, lips brushing against my ear. My heart pounds with excitement and I feel her warm breath. "Cloud..." she murmured, "I'm pregnant". I think I was dead for ten minutes there.
II) For some indefinable reason, being with Aeris often brings him thoughts of his mother and the crummy girlfriend speech she gave him a lifetime ago, and he can't help wonder what she would've thought of Aeris, if only she could've met her.

Endless ~ The message Aeris left on his phone seemed to go on forever, and maybe her habit of chatting about nothing long after she'd said all she'd needed to should've annoyed him, but Cloud couldn't help listening to it all the way through, and even though her neverending message took up a ridiculous amount of space, he didn't have the heart to delete it.

Bonus theme: 101. Starvation

And just for fun, a triple-bonus: Clerisy. Whoever comes up with an awesome entry for this will be worshipped and adored. :lol:
Our first "Clerisy" entry!

Clerisy, by definition:

I) Cloud hardly counted himself a genius at love. He was so shy, awkward, and nervous. But when Aerith was at his side he felt so much braver. The bold, romantic Cloud came out and he marked himself among the clerisy of love.
II) Everything about their relationship was made of curving smiles, teasing affection, and a heady, unforgettable mix of secrets and impulsiveness that couldn't be analysed or reproduced, and he'd willingly bet that even the world's clerisy couldn't figure them out.

Alright, I finished 58. Destruction (it's very bitter and gorey, about 3k words) but it's on my laptop, and I need to beta it. So here are some random sentences. All post-death, other than 62.

Aerith was full of promises and secret whispers, and all the truth in the world seemed to be reflected in her eyes; perhaps that's why Cloud was still waiting for her, even though he knew the Promised Land wasn't hidden away in the flower fields.
