I agree with Inuyatta. The source is just an impartial gaming magazine, right? So Aeris is Cloud's love interest only in the words/opinion of whoever wrote the article. Unless the text comes from an official S-E mag or an interview with a member of the creative staff, it can't be taken as proof, just opinion.

Buuut don't feel down about it! ^_^ If the snippet is genuine then it just means that yet another neutral party believes that C/A is canon and thinks it's perfectly alright to call Aeris Cloud's love interest! It means that unbiased parties are standing up and taking notice of Cloud and Aeris' relationship, and are interpreting it as romantic. And I think that's something worth squeeing about. :fangirl:

I doubt that SE wrote this little snippet. They wouldn't end something like the LT with a short paragraph in a magazine on CC. It seems the opinions of the very sane and sensible editor of the article. ^_^

I'm sure you trust your friend completely...but you might want to ask her where she found it from. The source she got it from may not be reliable. However, if she did scan it from some magazine herself, that would be awesome.

It looks EGMish or OPMish. EGM throws around comments like that all over the place. Articles like that are usually by the reviewer so it would be an opinion, so nothing to freak over to me. Just another person who has cleris views.

As everyone said, writers for magazines have opinions that often come out in their articles. This happens to be one of them. Now if this were say a statement from Nomura or something then we can file it under "proofz". For now though just be happy we have the press on our side. ^_^

I bet even if they did try to resolve it they'd do it in their trademark vague ambiguous way by saying something like "[Insert girl's name here] was intended as the original love interest, but after returning to the issue for the compilation we decided that the love interest should be [insert other girl's name here]"). One thing I note is that some Cloti fans claimed the original game, AC, etc, are so obviously canonising their fandom. Yet, there's plenty of media opinion for Cleris > Cloti.

Part One; FF7: Tifa doesn't know Cloud for half her life and now in so in wub because Cloud looks hardcore to the max. Cloud is distracted by Sephiroth, Shinra, and Aeris' boobs, then Aeris' death. Cloud falls into the lifestream and remembers Tifa exists, allowing them to be friends for real and not just bullshit some memories when they need something from each other.

Part Two; CoT: Cloud is ready to start his new life. Thinks his new bff Tifa can help him not to #*@$% up. Tifa, while being a complete sweetheart, does an epic fail and Cloud ditches her to live in the church of the dead competition, because apparently THAT is more comforting than living with her. Oh, BURN.

Part Three; AC: Cloud's all KRAWLING IN MY SKEEN. Tifa has no idea wtf is going on. Aeris shows up and tells Cloud that suicide is for emo kids like Pete Wentz. Cloud agrees and goes back to helping inner city kids get off the streets. Aeris and Cloud do a mental high five, Tifa watches on happily.

And the Epilogue; DoC: Cloud occasionally hangs out at 7th Heaven when he needs a place to rest, other than that, he's on his motorbike listening to Jrock. Comes back to help Vincent, although he'd really rather have nothing to do with this piece of crap game.
