Title: New From Nomura
Description: Notes from Shinra Subsection
Anastar - February 4, 2005 04:38 AM (GMT)
Tetsuya Nomura has been writing notes occasionally to those who have joined as "Shinra employees" at the Shinra subsection of Square's AC website. Advent Children.net has published the translation of new note from Nomura. You can find a translation of Nomura's notes here at
Advent Children.net:
Translation of Nomura's article on the Shin-Ra websiteOf particular interest in Nomura's report is this:
Presently, we've started putting in music, and layout work is at its final stages. We've got more scenes rendered, and the scenes that have thus far been shown to the public have also been revised. Why it's actually more of a full-length CG film rather than a movie, it's really starting to show. I myself am very much looking forward to the completions of this as well.
Also, there's another thing I'd like to inform you all. Well, more like I've got a bomb to drop...
It seems like it juuuuust might exceed 90 mins now...
...crap. And I haven't told the producers yet. -.-; How am I gonna open mouth to do this...? No, I'll tell them. I'll tell em all today. Since it's not something that's gonna exceed the current arrangements and budget, they'll find it in their hearts to forgive me, I'm sure. With that said, it's swiftly becoming something that's in the scale of a full-length feature film.Source:

Hmm .. that could either work for us or against us ... *keeping my fingers crossed*
Most likely, based on what we've seen so far, it's most likely revising fight scenes or summat ... but there's probably a lot of nit-picky things that will be destroyed for the Clotis ... *hopes*

DESTROY...!!!
Okay, that was weird, even for a member of the team of darkness...

Oh wow, that sounds great. The more content in the movie, the better, even if it does mean an inevitable further delay in the release date (I'd rather wait for a quality film that have a slapdash one rushed to me). I'm especially encouraged by Nomura saying they've modified the scenes thusfar shown. Sounds like we'll be left guessing until the last minute. Man, I'm really looking forward to this film...

Very true... who knows what Nomura meant by scenes being revised? What it does mean is that we have no clue what has been kept the same and what has been revised - so we can't base any more theory on what was shown in the film festivals without realizing that it's subject to change.

I really think nothing bad, like cloti bad, will happen. Think about it, ppl!! After all we've argued and thought about and searched on the net, how can you doubt your own beliefs?? We saw in the game that Cloud and Aeris loved each other, and I bet Cloud still does!! It's not only guilt!!
If some scenes will be changed, let them, because they won't change what's already been seen and played (FFVII and KH), so they just can't change to Cloti!! It's like, in Kingdom, Leon being in love with Yuffie since Rinoa isn't there!!!
Don't worry, folks. The truth is by our side.

I agree, SJ... I doubt very highly that the movie will go Cloti. Nomura said that the AC team had decided not to contradict the different interpretations of the game held by players. Square has to realize how many fans believe that Cloud loved Aerith. Why would Square contradict that for so many players?
If anything, I think the Love Triangle will once again be inconclusive in AC - if they don't want to contradict the interpretation of different players, then they won't want to contradict the interpretation of Cleris or Cloti. That leaves Square with one choice: making the movie inconclusive... unfortunately. :(

When I read this, I remembered one topic which is on adventchildren.net forums... Sometime ago, a fan found that the photograph of Cloud buring Aeris into the lake has being changed a little in another trailer after the first it had appaired... The changes have been a few in this image, and they all are "multimedia changes"... One thing is SE changing some scenes and other very different that they change the script... Maybe Nomura and the other have changed the script, but in this notes Nomura says that they have revised the scenes, not the script... Sorry, I think that ^^UU...
And I canīt find the scene with Cloud buring Aeris into the lake (I mean the two different scenes...)... Sorry U.U... If I find them, I will put them (Sorry U.U....)

Whether the film has more Cleris innuendos or CloTi ones matters little to me. All I really care about is the substance and the quality of the movie in general. I hope for an entertaining movie that's worth every penny I spend. If Nomura needs to spend more time on it and change things we've already seen, great. It just makes my high expectations that much more realistic.

Yeah, I doubt they'll put Cloud with anyone in AC. Instead of proving one fanbase wrong completely, I think they would rather want all fanbases wanting more and more. So I'm not too worried about any kind of revisions.

Gee guys, i don't know...
It's just that I've been having a very uneasy feeling about Advent Children. Just HOW will Nomura approach the love triangle after all these years of Cloti/Cloris wars?
After all these years, will the sequel's purpose be purely fanservice?

But honey, they are also aware of how uh...scarily loyal some Cloti fans may be.

The question is, HOW will they accomplish this?

We were discussing that further in this topic:
Resolving the Love Triangle in AC My own opinion is that they won't want to contradict the views of either fanbase.

But the point of my post was that Square wouldn't want to contradict the view of either fanbase since both the Cloti and Cleris fanbases are large. That makes me skeptical that anything conclusive will be shown.

I think Square has a greater chance of accomplishing that if they leave the Love Triangle inconclusive in the movie than if they resolve it. I hope that they will resolve it in favor of CloudxAerith, but how can they do that without making a whole lot of Cloti fans very unhappy?
