Title: Need Some Ffviii Help
Description: The Ultimecia Battle
AugoraTheMateria - July 12, 2007 02:03 PM (GMT)
I've been Final Fantasy VIII for the past 3 years and I haven't been able to beat the four forms of Ultimecia. The farthest I've gotten was to the 2nd form which would be Griever. Do you guys have any tips on how I can finish this 3 year battle?

All I really did was got Rinoa ( I used her, Zell and Squall) to cast Aura on the other two, and then on herself, and let rip with limit breaks.
What level are you? Squall was 100 and the others where 96-ish, but I beat her at 65

My Squall is like 81 I think (and I played it just last night), Rinoa is like in the 60s and Zell is close to 60.

Do you know where the Island Closest To Heaven and the Island Closest To Hell is?
You can get level ups really fast there.
Oh, and have you broke all the seals in the castle?

Aura.
And Lionheart.
I have Quistis and her "Big Guard" thing, enabling team members to have defense and haste.
And use mega elixirs, since this is the last part of the game, so no need to keep them.

Gosh yeah, megalixers. You can buy them in the Ragnorak thingy, from a guy inside it.

Yeah I know where they are and I have broken all the seals. And I need to get mega elixers. Right.

I never broke all the seals, I didn't break the revive one, because I was worried that if I did that, when I fought Ultimecia, and she chose 3 of the gang, that I wouldn't be able to kill off the people I didn't want, and fight with the people that are around LV 100.
Besides, I never found the last monster thingy in the castle.

Okay! Thanks for your help.

I beaten Ultimecia with my party around the level 60-70s.
First off, if Ultimecia choose the party you didn't generally use (those without Junctions and whatnot), make sure their HP was low enough to so they can use Limit Breaks. Well if they're going down, why not go down after doing something useful?
Once you get your normal party, have your Mage use Aura and use them on everyone, depending who you got and how you develop them. Squall is an obvious choice, Zell for his Dual Limit Break if you're good, Irvine if plenty of bullets. I use Rinoa, more to abuse her base statistics, plus if you got it, hope for Wishing Star (I cheer when I saw it) and Invincible Moon; if you're lucky, Angelo might come out and use Angelo Revive without you wasting a turn.
I generally assign the Commands Magic (last battle, might as well used up the non-Junctioned ones), Summon (if you want to, since Ultimecia is weak against Holy and you got Alexander and high-damaging non-elemental), Revive (revive to FULL HEALTH, use it), Recover and Items.
If I can beat her at a lower level, you have a chance.

Umm... Well I had it pretty easy since i used my Laguna card and got 100 hero's.
I basically got aura on all of them and then heros on all of them and went limit break crazy. I beat the game a few times without any of my characters getting close to dying. Kind of cheap when you think about it.

Ok, I'm planning to get Bahamut (for the Forbid Mag - RF and the card which I get mega elixers by using Card Mod) but I'm having trouble with the second Ruby Dragon since the battle begins with me being 'Back Attack'. Do you guys have any suggestions for beating the second Ruby Dragon?
Anti-R - July 15, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
Eh, I think I just use Selphie's The End.
I usually use that to almost all enemy bosses.

I'm proud to say that my 3 year battle with Final Fantasy VIII has come to an end. I beat the game last night. It took me 3 hours and 15 minutes to beat. I started playing at 11pm till 1:15am. Now I can finally move on to play my last two games before I get new ones. As of now, I will probably not play FFVII for some time.

Why thank you Anti-R! Even though I won with my Auras getting blasted away from that stupid Ultimecia. And Rinoa died and I was left with Squall and Zell... And having only about 4 or 5 megalixers. I found that battle very long, stupid, and annoying. SE should NEVER have a battle like that again!
