Clotis make me so mad; I met one that said MoTP isn't relevent to AC because it takes place two years before AC, and when Aerith says she loves Cloud, it doesn't matter, because her feelings could have changed over the two years separating FFVII and AC. :mad:

So, I thought I'd make a topic to discuss this, since I didn't see another topic like it {sorry if one alredy exists}.

We all know that Aerith and Cloud love eachother, and we even have the pleasure of officially reading it in MoTP.

But AC is two years after FFVII and MoTP, so my question is: What makes you believe that Aerith still retained her feelings for Cloud when AC rolls around?

Being a Clerith lover, I know she loves Cloud with all her heart, but in the actual movie, Cloud and Aerith actually have...What? Two scenes in which they have a conversation with eachother?

In Case of Tifa, Cloud's grief and guilt overwhelmed him to a point where he could not see or speak to Aerith, so its safe to assume that AC is the first time he sees/speaks to her again.

And in their first conversation in the flowerfield, which is quite short, Aerith teases Cloud, and jokingly asks, "By who?" when Cloud says that he wants to be forgiven. The Cloti told me that Aerith gives no inclination that she still loves Cloud in any of their scenes.

Personally, I'm fuming. I think that the fact Aerith actually appeared to Cloud just to help him with his grief speaks volumes. And I've heard that her consciousness actually LIVES in him, which makes me believe she cares for Cloud more than anyone else.

That makes me so mad that they won't believe Aerith even when she herself says that she loves Cloud dearly. :mad:

So what about you? Is there any reason to believe that Aerith DIDN'T retain her feelings of love for Cloud over the two years that span from FFVII to Ac?

I already know this Cloti is wrong; I'd just like to hear what everyone else thinks. :cleris:

"Could have" is all that Cloti's got on Aerith-- pure speculation. Last we left her in canon, she's chosen Cloud over Zack.

I can just as easily speculate that, when Tifa saw Cloud among the children in the water, she realised she'd been wasting her time pining after a 22-year old kid who was never gonna outgrow that motorcycle and settle down like a REAL man and she's better off with a lot of orphans and a lot of cats. (And sure as sure can be, she's no "Tifa Strife" by DoC...)

If Aerith's feelings for Cloud were meant to have changed, we would have been shown it. Instead, we have Aerith appearing only to Cloud in his time of need, Aerith canonised as living on in his subconscience; all of Aerith's major interactions have been with Cloud and only him, indicating she is special to him and vice versa. How special? Why, that is what the LTD is for.

But your Cloti's views are just that. It's not truth. In black and white, Aerith said she loved Cloud and is never once shown taking it back.

(And if you don't take MOTP as canon, you may as well not take anything from the Compilation as canon, because it's all derived from the game 10 years later anyway.)

I know people like to use "could/should" sentences to make assertion, even some Clerith did that too. But we can never doubt the facts. It goes volumes that Aerith still cares (alright, I give up the word "love"..= =") about Cloud even after she die...
OK, even from Cloti's idea, that Aerith does not love Cloud anymore in AC, is that really important to Cloud in AC? His simple wish is to "meet her"; I don't think he will be like "Aerith loves me~Yeah I can move on"
He smiles at last simply because he knows Aerith still live inside him, and he can still see/feel her if he wants.

Aerith and Cloud never have the chance to talk about this "possible love" thing before AC, that's why it kills me when I read the lines:

" Maybe she could be clear about her affections toward Cloud here. Then maybe they would be seen as family or lovers.." (From "Maiden who Travels the Planet")

Getting rid of all those "should/could/I think" stuff, Aerith's concern for Cloud in AC is doubtless.

Why would Cloti's think that Aerith's feelings for Cloud would change after two years, yet they also think that Cloud never stopped loving Tifa after leaving Nibelheim until he met her again in Midgar? How many years were Cloud and Tifa separated, yet the Cloti's think Cloud's feelings for Tifa never changed? Besides, they think Tifa was pining over Cloud all that time, too. <_<

They could at least be consistent in their arguments. ;)

I think the Cloti's have a hard time accepting that consciousness lives on after death in Final Fantasy VII. Cloti's seem to think that once a person dies, they have as much personality as a rock. Cloti's don't seem to get the idea that Aerith's personality lives on, that Aerith can communicate with Cloud, and that Cloud and Aerith are able to sense each other's presence.

Since Cloud and Aerith are always together in spirit and consciousness, they can easily remain in love with one another. :cleris:

I totally agree, Alexa. I mean, Aerith's conciousness LIVES on inside Cloud. No one else, not even Elmyra. How blunter could you be?

After Cloud let go of his guilt, and realized that Aerith is still with him, it's like she had never left his side in the first place. :cleris:

You know you should ignore those Cloti because they are hard headed. I know what is the main reason why they really adore Tifa for Cloud because Tifa is hot not like Aeris. Cloti are people who always looks what is outside

But in the inside Aeris is more hotter that Tifa and that's why Cloud loves Aeris. Not only that Aeris makes Cloud's life meaningful because when he was with Tifa, Cloud is rude selfish and unkind and all he thinks is money but when Aeris came to his life he change.

I would actually be ashamed to be a Cloti and support it with passion without admitting the Cleris truth.
AC is one of the most powerful cleris proof for me.
Come and think of it:Cloud feels/sees Aerith in the movie about 5-6 times including "Calling".Tifa is near him most of the time.

Ask a Cloti: How many times does Cloud get touched with the ALIVE Tifa and how many times with the DEAD(they love this word) Aerith?

In scenes with Tifa he touches her twice:a)in the church coz she's knocked out(nessecary,geez what should he do?) and b)in the Bahamut-Sin battle (again was nessecary to throw him higher) while

with Aerith gets touched in two of the scenes with one of them unnessecary,referring to the flower-field scene,the other one being the whole version of the last FMV of FF7 while the rest of the other scenes with her are full of emotion.

Geez,isn't it enough for them to claim that Cloud is the one that doesn't care for Aerith?Now they try to tell us that Aerith doesn't reciprocate his feelings too??

Of course she still loves Cloud and Cloud still loves her. Even though she only appears in a couple of scenes, she is the one who helps Cloud forgive himself, she is the one who cures his Geostigma (I believe she is the one who cures it because first off, she's in the Lifestream which is the true cure but also the fact that the pool of Lifestream induced water was chosen by Square Enix to be in Aerith's church and not somewhere like Tifa's bar is to me another indicator that she still loves Cloud.) Also, the fact that she says that even though she was killed, Cloud still came for her and that was all that had mattered to her is another indicator that she loves him still.

Of course she still loves him. Calling shows that her feelings haven't changed since Maiden, if nothing else does. That's a little sad. But no worries, it's such an obvious thing that she still does and will always love Cloud, and most Clotis I know don't argue that. That person seems desperate.
