I always wondered about his and I never knew the relationship between Denzel and Marlene in AC a whole lot but I think really think they would make an extremely cute couple! Dont you? :dance2: :lol:

O_O I always saw a brother and sister sort of thing between those two. They are raised in a family environment so it feels more like siblings than romance to me.

Well you never know what can happen. Alex and Luna from Lunar The Silver Star were raised together since they were children under the same roof but I still thought their romantic relationship was one of the strongest in VideoGame history.

I can still remember their song together in front of the Blue Dragon Shrine. Priceless RPG moment.

I dunno. Like Neko, I think they're more like brother and sister. They're only kids though, who knows what could happen in the future?

yea it does seem like it could go either way.. and about lunar. thats one of my favorite games ever made beautiful man.. luna and alex made such an incredible couple and the song..... amazing.. but yea back on topic.. marlene and denzel do care for each other alot but who knows .. maybe square will tell us one day!

I highly doubt they'll tell us (or at least I hope not. I am so sick of this milking of VII). But as one greater than has said Square Enix is just another word for Fan Service Money Whores. I pray Denzel and Marlene will be left to speculation and that SE will not continue being the cruel farmer to the cow of FFVII. :no:

they just seemed cute in the movie and it would of been nice to see what would or could of happened with them in the future...but I'm kinda agreeing also that Square Enix will only leave it at that, only as friends...sucks not being able to find out what you want ya know -_-

Marlene always seemed like a mini Aerith to me, and Denzel, well he reminds of a younger Cloud. He's not an emo like Cloud is, but he seems to have the same sort of stoic attitude that Cloud displays. Plus the same eyes. For some reason I always note that they both have blue eyes when I watch AC.

So, they do look cute when standing next to eachother, but do I think they're more brother-sister.

Well, seeing as I don't believe that childhood friendships always have to lead to true love, I think that the idea is definitely cute, but that it doesn't have to happen and isn't destiny at work or anything. Right now, I think the family's strength relies on its structure and unity (Barret as father, Tifa as mother, Cloud as older brother, Denzel as young brother and Marlene as young sister) so Marlene and Denzel being childhood sweethearts would complicate things and I think damage family harmony. But they won't need it so much when they're adults, and things can always change. So I guess I'm on the fence, and won't be upset or squeeing either way. ^_^

I will be upset if SE makes yet another FFVII rip-off like a "10 Years Later" game that makes it totally clear, though. <_<

So much word. One of things I loved most about FFVII was the untied threads, the unsolved mysteries, and how so much was up to speculation and the gamer's personal interpretation. Being given a load of sequels and prequels full of overblown OC's who take focus away from the characters I'm REALLY interested in is not my cup of tea. -_-

True. But Riou and Nanami from Suikoden II are two unrelated war orphans raised and trained by Genkaku, both characters see and treat each other as brother and sister.

And WTF! I didn't know his name was Riou. I really don't remember clearly but wasn't the default name for him left blank? o.O

^It was blank in the game, but I think the novels/manga/Konami books gave him the name Riou.

I dunno, I find Denzel really bland and hence, not worthy of my spunky Marlene. :hide: I get some of the Cloud-ish parts of him, but because he suffers from so little growth, he's the younger, more boring version of Cloud for me.

That said, I'm quite apathetic to whether Denzel and Marlene get together. I'm like HB-- I care about the original characters of the original game (I'd take more info on Scarlet and Hojo over Denzel any day), and not all these new inclusions through the Compilation.

Plus a "Final Fantasy VII: Denzel's Story" would reek of bad fanfic kids-of-hero-fight-kids-of-villain rot.

Lol, although, a "10 years later..." sorta thing, with Cloud and Tifa STILL not married and screwing might dampen the spirits of some CloTi's ^_^
