first of all why does Aerith's dress look Blue? well actually it looks kinda bluey purpley (did i spell that right?) anyway that was the first thing i noticed, yeah it looks like they are holding hands :D

As for the legitimacy of the cup, I am unsure but the color of her dress is explainable. My brother works in print making (Making boxes for cereals and such) and some times inks will change in color over time. Particularly colors like yellow and pink. The pink would likely fade into either a pale red or a purplish blue.

I think it's pretty obvious that it's fake, since you know... Cloud's shoulder guard it's switched around. Plus the picture of Aeris is taken from FFVII while the Cloud one is taken from Ehrgiez.

You make an excellent point but why didn't the site put it under the Fakes section then?

I really don't know. But after seeing the site I'm even more sure that it's fake after seeing Squaresoft using FFVII in CocaCola. I've never seen the same movie/game/etc on rival companies as big as Coke and Pepsi.

EDIT: Hah... I guess I have to correct myself. I'm guessing in Japan they signed with Coke and in the US they signed with Pepsi. But of course these were only ads in magazines. No cups, so my fake cup theory still stands. =)

I see alot of Pepsi stuff. But yes there is a lot of Coke stuff too. I see a Pepsi box, Cardboard stand up (with the same Cloud as the cup Oo), and the cup. I'm not saying it isn't fake. (My brother says it likely is) I'm just saying this is all very odd.

Calm down, everyone! It is high likely a fake! The print job is cheap, the logo is completely off, the Cloud shown is from Ergheiz not VII, and wouldn't there be more than characters standing around? Like a copy right or a Square Soft logo? My older brother works in printing and says big corporations like Pepsi would use set in colored plastics rather than ink sets. Set in colors don't fade like the ink on there did.

If you guys really want some CxA stuff, make a T-shirt! Not only will you get Aerith's dress colour right, you won't have to suffer an ugly logo to go with it! :D

In all seriousness, my money's on it being fake. I've seen "FFVII merchandise" with Cloud and Tifa's FFVII art work on the cardboard wrapping, the pendants holding their individual pictures on them. But you can't find actual info on those pendants anywhere, just in certain comic shops around my area specialising in cheap, pirated game/anime merchandise.

...Still though. If someone served me that cup in a food court, I'll snag it without a second thought. :lol:

To be honest, the merchandise I desire most would be "animation of FF7 produced by SqareE" :fangirl: ~~~~ I really want to see their private life besides games~~ :lmao:

*slams head on table* :headbang: Please listen! This cup is FAKE! Lynn, MistaCloudStrife, and I have all said that. Here are some reasons.

1) The Cloud featured on the cup is from Ergheiz NOT Final Fantasy 7
2) The printing is cheap (My brother is a pro and proved this)
3) The Pepsi logo's coloring is off
4) It lacks copyrights, a Squaresoft logo, or at least a Playstation logo
5) Like Lynn said, a lot of fake collectibles exist. This includes a plastic cup I ran into of FFXI when SE did not produce any cups for FFXI
6) There is no information on this cup or others
7) I have not seen this cup else where and I am a very serious collector of figures and general collectibles.

Though for conversation's sake, it seems like Coke was the one who dealt with SE. Everyone knows the famous Cloud/Aerith + Squall/Rinoa Coke cans, and there was even a Coke bottle with KH's Cloud and Leon on it. Now THAT bottle, I wantz. >D

XD My collector's rage got the best of me! I apologize. I buy a lot of unlicensed products for my collection but full out fakes are worth squat to a collector so this thing is like poison to me.

One reason I'd think it's fake:

Square works with Coke more. There are even old bottles with Nomura-ish art on the labels, and let us not forget the figurines. D:

One more reason I think it's fake.... The characters aren't exactly at their height... Cloud is either too short to Aeris, or Aeris is too tall to Cloud... She is supposed to be 5'3" compared to Cloud's height of 5'7", and they have these two at the same height on the cup. :lol:

On more recent materials this would apply but on older collectibles scaling wasn't a big deal. I own a flip book where Sephiroth and Cloud are consistently the same height, while in the game Sephiroth is six foot and Cloud is five feet and seven inches.

As for the fake cup, it probably was just made for a particular gaming event or it was photoshopped for the sake of posting something online and doesn't really exist. *shrug*
