What does everyone think of the layout?

Don't get me wrong, I love the pinkness. I really do... but how about a change? Just a suggestion... Maybe even a new layout but different shades of pink? Or something to match the banner?

I don't think it's a bad idea, but let's see what the admins have to say. :) Anyway, if it's in their favor, I think the layout should mix with CG's banner. <333

If it were personally up to me, I'd turn everything red. ^_^

It's up to the majority though. Some people would love to keep it the way Anastar left it as a way of remembering what she created.

I'll chime in and say it is possible to have a layout changer for each seperate member so that people could decide which layout they want. It's a way of keeping this layout and also adding new ones. That way everybody's happy! But, I'm not sure how simple it is to do. So I'll look into it ;)

Skin selector. It's a mod/hack, so some minor coding experience may be needed. It's usually just copy and paste and follow instructions though.

I just registered to that forum and it turns out that link is broken, lol. But it certainly is the right thing.

I have tried one of them before and it does work (it comes with pre-made skins), so it's a trustworthy site. I'm just not too sure how to add your own skins. However, there is more than one topic about it there so I'm sure it will tell you somewhere...*looks into it more*

I like the idea of implementing some red into the pink color scheme, and maybe a darker, deeper shade of pink.

What happened to Anastar, I'm out of the loop.

For me, it'd be really strange changing it after so long, and I'm so used to calling this The Pink! xD But whatever is decided.

To me, sometimes it makes more sense if the layout matches the banner. But that's just me...

Nah, I love this layout. Plus it reminds us of Anastar as CG said. Its a pretty little pink layout, its very cute. If the layout were to be changed, it would have to be kept pink because its a memorial to Aerith.

I agree with this. Let's keep the default skin the current pink, but enable individual members to choose the skins they want. We can even ask if members want to contribute their own skins. :)

Scott and MCS, thanks for the links! Since I've started getting interested in this business, I'll take a look at what can be done later.

Now, I don't know how to make skins for InvisionFree. When it comes to the AdminCP, I'm good enough at copy and pasting information and changing it to suit what you need, which is basically what this is.

Pasting the code there gives you a load of premade skins (no doubt they're all horrible/terrible/don't work), but it also describes adding your own skins and also how to remove the ones already in the code. I have an InvisionFree forum which I use just to try codes on to see if they work, so if a mod/admin wants to work on this (or if you wanna ask someone else or me for help) you can use that forum for experimenting.

I vote for pink and white with a little bit of red thrown in. :D I love the old look, but I feel the need for a change as well.

Hmmm, the current layout gives me more of a purple-ish feel, than a pink feel.

I agree that we should keep the layout pink, nevertheless, we should definently change the shades.

Hmm Aurora has a good point about having multiple layouts that members can choose between. So we can have different colors, designs, and everyone can choose to wear whichever they prefer most :3

I've no idea either, though I'm sure there'll be tutorials somewhere. Or maybe we can go to sites that offer free skins and use those temporarily. ^^;

Guess we couldn't really have a contest since most of us know nothing about invision layouts :lmao:

It is the support forum for all invisionfree boards. I'm not sure if requesting for a forum skin is allowed there, but you could try browsing through the topics. Most coders post skins of layouts they made there.
