Title: How Many Of You Have Played Final Fantasy VII?
Description: I know it's a weird question, but...
Aurora - June 25, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
It amuses me to see that there are some people who will defend either CxA or CxT to the grave, but then those same people have never even played the game Final Fantasy VII at all.
Sad but true.
I've asked a few people whether they liked the Cloud and Aerith or Cloud and Tifa pairing better, and then they had reasons to support their decision... and then when I asked them if they've actually played the game, some of them said they hadn't! How can you formulate an opinion when you've never played the game!?
Honestly... I'm just wondering how many people here have not played the game. If you're here because of the forum itself and to have fun, that's one thing. But if you're here to support CxA or CxT or CxY or whatever else without having played the game, I wonder...

I can see how alot of people haven't played the game since it's so hard to come by nowadays. You either have to be really lucky to find it in a used game store, have a friend who has one, or buy one online.
And I can see how there could be some Cloud/Aeris supporters who haven't played FFVII but have played games like KH.
And yes, I've played FFVII a few times. First game I maxed out my time and got everything without the power of gamefaqs. I actually didn't save the train from crashinig and thought that it was supposed to be that way so i left it alone. (I was a noob) Second time around i went again without gamefaqs and owned. 3rd time I went for a 9999 natural hp max. Got it and stopped. And then started playing my pc version with the hacks that make everyone look nicer, kind of like a remake made by fans. Cool stuff.

I have played and beaten FFVII. (Took me a few tries to kill Safer Sephiroth though) Almost all of my friends are involved in the LTD yet haven't played VII. Sad, no? Most have played KH and have seen AC but VII is beyond them. <_<
Kaldea - June 25, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
I started out with FFVII. I mastered everything that can be mastered in it, but I have no idea how many times I've beaten it. D:
I wish it was longer. <3
Pyra Kurai Akaidra - June 25, 2007 08:18 AM (GMT)
Though I started out with KH, I eventually found a second-hand copy of FF7 for less then $10 in a used game shop. <3 So yes, I played it, even though I can't believe my luck at finding it after what? 5 or so years?
haymuvyn - June 25, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
I had to buy a used version for $12, it was worth it ( I bought it after playing both KH and FFX). I myself tried getting into the LTD before I played the game but I really had nothing to support my so called evidence besides interviews and other games. I dont blame anyone who hasnt played the game for being any less of a "fan" but I highly recommend it for anyone who hasnt yet played it.
Nocturnal~Fantasy - June 25, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
I've played it and loved it. I had the same problem as NekoDono had with Sephiroth, but I finally got him. I've tried the LTD, but I get tired of hearing the same stuff over and over again. Maybe one day I'll try it again.

Same story as Pyra Kurai Akaidra, I played KH first and was lucky enough to find a used copy of FFVII. Heh, at K-Mart of all places. I really wish I was still lucky. My brother lost my disks and ever since AC came out, I've wanted to play it over again...
I see from the poll that 2 members voted that they haven't played FFVII. I'd like to read about their views on the LTD without experiencing the original game.

I must say, it must be difficult to be a CloTi fan and have never played VII. I mean Tifa does not appear in Tactics or the first Kingdom Hearts. Her appearance in the second Kingdom Hearts was a little undignified and people who don't know anything about VII would be confused. As for Ergheiz it's a fighter. Generally you don't associate romance and fighters together. (unless there is indepth story showing it like in Soul Calibur) Her bit Erghiez doesn't suggest a romantic inclination toward Cloud at all. Perhaps AC is possible to draw CloTi-ism from. The whole "family" thing may throw you off. (Although all who I know who saw AC with out prior knowledge of VII saw nothing but cleris in it) Yet it is easy to draw cleris from other games. Cloud and "Ivalice Aerith" shows Cloud's affection is deep and because of it tries to save this girl who is a vinerable clone of the Aerith in Gaia. As for Kingdom Hearts, it is difficult to draw it while playing the game but when they reunite during the credits, it should click "Oh! He was looking for her! She must be a very important person to him!" Then they have a close, intimate dialouge in the second Kingdom Hearts game shows that they have stayed close together since his return to Radiant Garden. Just think it over, eh?

I wish the people that have voted no would say a word...?
 It's VERY hard to understand Advent Children if you haven't played the game.
I was lucky enough to find a new copy at Toys R Us when I was about twelve, and I've kept it in pretty good condition since then, so I pop it in to play once in a blue moon.

I've seen many cloti fans get their views from friends. Artists too. A lot of artists hear something about how hot Tifa is and they draw her saying that she's the hottest girl in games and they put themselves in Cloud's position knowing that they play as him. There have been way too many instances where I've seen rabid cloti fanfic writers attack cleris writers when they, not only have never played FFVII, don't even own a PlayStation. They seem to like reading scripts and as usual, they go by what others say. Even some well known rabids have never finished the game.
This goes for both fandoms, but I've found that most of the time it happens with outspoken clotis who have nothing better to devote their time to.

Played it. It's one of my first games I ever touched in my life. Next to Tetris and Pong.

Wow, what a dumb way to form an LTD opinion. OMGZ! Sh3 iZ T3H H4wTn3zZ!!111 cL0tI 4tW!!!1111 Fan art is fine but it's not what one should base their LTD opinion off of. C'mon CloTis! Looks aren't everything! Besides, big boobs and a super mini doesn't make her an auto-hotty.
CloudVII<3AerisVII - July 12, 2007 01:57 AM (GMT)
Originally my brother had bought this game when it first came out, but sadly he never beat it....So one day, I picked up the controller and started playing it(what I had soon come to realize, one of the best games ever of all time! :) ) I played that game non-stop, day and night. In fact I had so much fun, I could'nt put the controller down :gamer: :D
The farthest character level I got to with Cloud was I believe level 85 and thats when I beat Sephiroth. The easiest way to beat him though, is to use "The Nights of The Round Table" Materia, I could'nt believe my eyes when I beat him though, it was so awesome! And getting revenge for Aeris's death made me feel so much better too :aeris:...That may have come off harsh but I really enjoyed playing that game then and still enjoy kicking butt in that game now :D
Ultima Star - July 14, 2007 02:35 AM (GMT)
I've played it*raises hand* yeah it was the first long game I've ever touched yeah my first FF and yeah to be in the LTD..at least for me it's necessary to have played VII....or at least see the credits on KH :P
Though yeah it's kinda annoying to see Clotis defending their point of view and they haven't played the game it's annoying!
And yeah though we know AC is FULL CLeris they think is Cloti cos she is his family ..duh but when our Aerith appears the other woman it's just..something...that doesn't mean anything to Cloud:D
Back to topic, FF VII is what some people need to really know how things are^^
HyruleMaster - August 7, 2007 02:41 AM (GMT)
I'm actually playing the game... I haven't finished it quite yet... the reason? My file keeps going somewhere. >_> And it's difficult for me to find the time since the game is my brother's and his Playstation2 is in his room... But at least I've played it enough to formulate an opinion--why else would I be here? *waits to get slapped*
But since I've bought my own Playstation2 recently I should be able to actually finish it!! 8D.....after I finish Kingdom Hearts... which also has some evidence for Cleris... (at the end.)
I get the strangest feeling that I'm going to get a lot of angry replies. o.o

 Why? We don't castrate people here for not playing the original game. Sure, we reallyreallyreally want those who take part in the LTD to have played the game and seen the interaction between Cloud, Aerith and Tifa for themselves-- but just liking a couple? (Besides, you ARE playing FFVII! You just haven't finished it. )
And I believe it's pretty hard to find a console version of FFVII in the present day. So it's not surprising some people were introduced to Cleris through KH rather than FFVII.
Angelic Requiem - August 7, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
Naaah. We wouldn't bash you for something like that! There is nothing wrong with getting introduced to Cleris from something else, and atleast you are playing the game now! There are a lot of people who just got into FFVII after Advent Children as well.

That makes me so, so glad that I have my original from way back in the day. Actually, it was my dad's and so it is very sentimental for me, I guard that bad-boy like a hawk. <_<;
