Go for it Marshall!!

Thats so cool. :D

MistaCloudStrife - June 24, 2007 03:28 PM (GMT)
Sounds cool. I wouldn't do it though. Upgrading anything in your computer would be a mineral oily mess.

aerislives - June 24, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
na i've built comps since i was twelve the one i'm on now i built

I'd be afraid to get electrocuted or something...

not to worry because mineral oil is nonconductive which is the same reason why the computer dosent fry from it

:lmao: Oh. I was watching a little of the video with no sound and I didn't realize it was made from mineral oil...

But still, won't it affect the computer in any way?

I mean, say you're going to upgrade something as simple as ram or add an extra harddrive. It would be a pain having to get your hands all icky. >_>

And hey, the people that made it are located in Seattle. I might check it out if I ever pass by.

Actually the oil acts as a coolant for the system. Less chance for anything to overheat. But you could always just buy more fans, get an aluminum case, or do a number of other things to help prevent your pc from overheating.

All in all this setup would be mostly just for looks.

exactlly but the price of fans the aluminum case will cost alot more than a fish tank
and yes it would be a very attractive case and the fact that processors will out match the fans you added to that soon you'll need more powerful fans it'll be a long time before they make personel pc processors that heat up enough to boil oil. people allready use water cooling for comps why not just stick the whole thing in a tank of oil and be done with it

ohh ok sorry i misunderstood well i would use a external hard drive and with a couple of those 4 gb ram cards they have on their site my hands won't be going back in for quite sometime

I admit,
the way the computer was built it looked awesome :)

And if you haven't yet, i'd say go for it :huggle:

Tifa Lockheart - April 15, 2008 12:20 PM (GMT)
It rocks, man! :hyper: Although I won't build something like that. :P I'd like to see others attempt it, though... like you! Anyway...
Take a picture of it and show it to us once you've built your own version of it! ^_^

illwaitforever1 - April 15, 2008 04:38 PM (GMT)
Acutally...

Have you built it Marshall? You never told me.
