I haven't even played the first final fantasy VII, but i have seen Advent Children and have played Dirge Of Cerberus, and they where exellent. I haven't played the first FFVII because it is nearly impossible for me to get a copy.

that was posted by matt on the pettion website

a few years down the road we are going to see the younger gen ask us what happend in the game, what happend to aerith.

square enix needs to remake it before the old copies become extinct i've went through 4 copies myself and i take extremly great care of disks that one most of all. now i can't find a decent copy anywere i meet folks all the time intrested in the game but can't find it, [not playable anyway] (glares at used game stores selling it with wore out second and third disks) like they don't know it.
but if square won't release it for ps3 ps2 or any other system, the least they could do is put the ps1 and pc versions back in production both ps2and3 are backward compatible all the way to ps1 so. come on allready

I agree, aerislives, it seems impossible to find copies of FFVII these days. S-E did release an International version recently. But, they need to do more than that, IMO. The Compilation has increased interest in FFVII once more, so they need to make the game more available.

Another thing about the new-gen fans is that they feel put off by the inferior graphics compared to modern games. It's a shame, they will lose out on a lot of good games this way because they don't like the look of the game. Quite a few times I've recommended the game to people and they have replied saying they don't like the graphics.

I don't think a remake would require better graphics (though maybe giving them hands instead of cubes would be nice), just putting the game back into production would be good enough for most.

Wtf? Its easy to find a copy of FFVII. Why there's a copy in my local GameStation right now. I bought my FFVII used back in 1998 and its still in perfect condition, its just a question of looking hard enough or popping round to our friend eBay.

I hate gamers like that, judging a book by its cover. Heck I still love games on my 8-bit and 16-bit consoles such as Phantasy Star, Streets of Rage, Alex Kidd and Golden Axe. It just happens to be like like with the current generation, even without gaming, they are all extremely picky about eveything!

My older sister is like that. I play a lot of Final Fantasy Tactics and always comes in and makes fun of the sprites and the fact that the characters don't have noses. It's very irritating. Personally, I don't want an FFVII remake. They have milked that series so bad that I'm starting to get REALLY sick of it. It was better before all the sequels, prequels, movies, and books. It's all about money though. <_<

I personally would love a Remake but over where i am you can get FF7 anywhere i think it just depends how hard you look

I know that if you go on Ebay and stuff you can get it

yeah it may be expensive but it will be alot cheaper buying the orignal and falling for that (even with the cubiness) than maybe going out of your way and spending hundreds of dollars or pounds on a console so you can get the re-make which would prob have alot of fan service (i think) but anyway :D i'd like a re-make (i know that wasn't the question but oh well) :D

PC version of FFVII is easy to find online.(And cheap too) If you're looking fr the original Triangle shaped PC version it might be a little harder. But if youre just looking to play the game it's easy.

As for a remake. I'm one of the people that are actually all for a remake. Yes it's true that they could butcher FFVII. But I doubt that would happen. S-E is pretty good at keeping their games as close to the orginal as they can. Take for example FFIII. I know I've only played the fan translated version, but to me it was pretty much the same. Good people S-E. =P They know what the fans want and they actually give it to them. That may not always be a good thing, but it almost always makes the majority happy.

Grrr...I had to buy my copy on Amazon.com for... Hmmm.... Close to 80 BUCKS!!!

It makes me mad to think about, because I checked all of my local stores and none of them had it, and then I had to go and spend that absurd amount of money on it....But at least its in great condition...

But about a remake...It depends on how a remake would effect the LTD....If it would start a total uproar, then I'd rather there not be one.

I'd rather let it go without a remake and have then focus their energy back into making more good gams.

It really depends where you live. I tried to get it last year for my 16th birthday (I played it once when I was around 13 and have to give it back to the person I borrowed it from) and didn't get it cause we couldn't find it in any used game stores around where we live. I asked my older sister to find it on eBay but it was really hard for her to get it since the bidding on it was getting to high ($50 high that's a bit extreme).

i know i saw some new copies on there for like over $100.00 i mean how much effort would it take to rerelease the game even in ps1 format they could sell it cheap and people would buy it and if your going to pay 60 dollars or more that itself justifies paying the same $60.00 for a ps2 or ps3 version if they remade it i mean the game is a classic but i'm not paying $60.00 for a ps1 game ill pay 30.00 if it's brand new in the cellophane wrapping and all but not for a used copy.
