Basically, in this thread you have to complete the sentence "Love is..." by naming something that you honestly think love is. It can be anything you like - a noun (honesty, devotion, hope, passion, worry, faith, selflessness, etc), a saying (love is...learning to let go, an argument between two soul or something like that), anything! Adjectives, comparisons, similies! You can choose anything. Anything you like, anything you feel is true. You can be as idealistic or a realistic as you like. There's no boundries on what you can say, as long as you personally believe it. :D

Then you have to say how/why the aspect of love you just named applies to Cloud and Aeris and your personal thoughts on their relationship (I bet you were wondering if I was ever going to bring them into this!). And that's it! Enjoy the romantic feel of this thread! ^_^

LOVE is...finding in one thing the fullness of everything we've left out of ourselves.

I feel that this fits Cloud and Aeris' relationship very well. They find their Promised Land in each other. Finding that fullness is sometimes surprising, sometimes tender, sometimes funny, sometimes bewildering. Finding that fullness is interesting, exciting, adventurous, sweet and dynamic; just like their relationship. They have an instant connection, build a strong and solid relationship and develop a deep understanding despite knowing each other for a relatively short amount of time. In each other, they find everything they don't have in themselves, or couldn't see. They make each other happy, and enjoy each other's company. They affect each other profoundly, in different ways, in both physical and emotional reality. They bring out the very best in each other. Through knowing each other, they become more closely connected to the Planet. This experience isn't all bliss but it isn't all pain either. It's so rich because it's the layers between the two. With each other, they can both be themselves, not the First-Class SOLDIER and the Last Cetra, but just Cloud and Aeris.

Cloud and Aerith loved each other, all right, but life didn't have mercy on them... eventually, Aerith died. Love is there, but it's only a feeling that can't stop the natural ways of life.

But despite the song by The Darkness (Love is only a feeling / drifting away), Cloud and Aerith's love did not drift away after death. :D After all, Cloud still feels it. And I'm sure Aerith does too.

Cloud and Aerith's love are an example of how true love is. When you love someone, you'll know that nobody in the world will ever be able to replace them. Your parents love you. They'll die for you without thinking twice. Cloud and Aerith are something like that. How they meet wasn't a coincidence, it was fate. After Aerith dies, Cloud is still 'bound' to her. I'm not sure if that word fits, but aah. Nobody will ever be able to replace Aerith, because what I believe anyway, is that a person can only have one person in his/her life (soulmate), and as for Cloud, it's her.

Aww that's right. Even after Aerith dies, Cloud's with her, in a spiritual way. It's like Aerith is there, but you can't see her. But Cloud's able to , because they've got something special.

I have multiple things I believe about love.

Love is...the one thing that you completely embrace with your heart, but totally hate with your mind.

As you can see, this doesn't apply to Cloud x Aerith at all, but it's what pertains to me the most.

True Love is...the one thing everyone wants, but so few people find.

I think this one pertains to the LT more then Cloud x Aerith. Tifa's probably the best example I'd be able to find of this. Tifa loves Cloud with her whole heart, yet, she'll never be able to find her 'happy ending' if she keeps going after Cloud, because (obviously) Cloud has already found his true love *coughAERIScough*. :lol:

Love is an intangible that can't be explained with science or maths (or sex for that matter) :P

Love is... finding your other half. The person that fills the cracks of your faults with their strengths. It is sharing your fears with someone and they make them go away. It is finding the person who your soul sings when you see them.

yep, and this pertain to Cloud and Aeris. I believe this match them quite well. There was a bond between Cloud and Aeris that would never break, even in death. Aeris understand Cloud better than Tifa and Cloud understand Aeris better than anyone else. :P

I don't like defining love because it has infinite meanings from different people who experience it. Defining it would mean limiting it to just a mere object with only one purpose in this planet.

Materia Thief, I think the first could apply to Aerith and Cloud, the fact that it must hurt so much to be apart could cause them to hate being bound by it, yet they embrace it because they couldn't feel complete any other way.

Cloud and Aerith met for only a while, but I believe (along with everyone else here) that they truly loved each other, and will continue to do so. It didn't take long for that spark to spring between them, however, the impression that Aerith made on Cloud will remain long after her death.

Love is Cloud and Aerith. If they end up together, they would be the epitome of the perfect love I could ever wish for in my life ;)

Love is...something that can't be descibed with a few simple words. It's different for everyone, and is associated with both pain and happiness. Love is being able to be yourself, to smile, and to laugh when you're around that person. It is when that person has become the single most important thing to you, more important than even saving the world. It is the determination and that deep yearning to find/be with that person even after they've passed away. It is falling into a deep state of depression when you realize that person will no longer ever smile at you again. It is the endless pain of guilt and remorse you would feel if you were unable to save that one person.

Love is... a highly complicated and encompassing emotion forged primarily from bonds of trust and deep understandings between two people.
