Title: I Have A Question Regarding The Movie

12Grey14 - May 26, 2007 03:38 AM (GMT)
Okay, I watched the movie yesterday and its been on my mind about a comment made by a character.

When Tifa says 'You have been there for Cloud all along....thank you' (well not the exact words but its still the same. Who is she referring to? Is it Aerith?

I know Marlene refers to Aerith when she narrates 'Even the person I liked became part of the Lifestream' (not exact words, still the same)

Also, whats the significance of the water drops in the movie when Aerith says something....I forget and I watched it last night ha ha

Thanks for the help

It's been confirmed that Aerith's associated with water in the film (e.g. the water droplet, the surge of water from the church, the the song 'Water' play at parts of the movie, the Great Gospel, etc), as an opposite to Sephiroth's affliation with 'fire'.

I'm sure one of the more informed members can answer this more resourcefully, 12Grey14. :)

Well obviously, both Tifa and Marlene talks about Aerith. I agree with PKA, it was confirmed by Reunion Files that water symbolizes Aerith's prescence.
Anyway, to all Asian people who has Animax, FFVII: AC Asian TV premiere tonight!!!

Man, Marlene's English VA makes my ears bleed. >.<

PinkRibbon - June 5, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
Among many reasons but that one including, is why I prefer to stick to subs, not dubs. No matter how good the English VA may be, the Japanese VA will usually overshadow it. I guess I'm spoiled, because I always listen to the Japanese VA first and then when I listen to the English VA, I always end up feeling disappointed.

I never lisen to subs. Not only do I not understand what they're saying, but I have to try to read and keep up with the action at the same time, so what's the point?

PinkRibbon - June 5, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
You mean subs? Well, sticking to subs would be inconvienent when you're fighting, but when you're able to relax and watch the cut scenes, that's when I prefer the subs. The other alternative is learn Japanese. :)

Yeah. That's what I meant.

..thinking one thing and typed another ...

Hey... you are lucky about Marlene's voice. If you have the chance to listen at the French voice acting, it's terrible. Marlene seems to repeat her lesson at school when she tells the story in the beginning, Tifa has the voice of a little girl, Cloud is strange, Barrett is LOL ( his first sentence to Cloud : "Hé, ma poule..." which means in english " Hey, Honey... " :lmao: ).... Aeris' and Kadaj's voice are in fact the only perfect french voices in AC. However in the English version, I don't like Aeris' voice.... Well, it's never perfect ( except for the japanese dub... Maaya Sakamoto :fangirl: ... Vincent's voice :fangirl: ... etc... ) but there are good things in our and your dubbing .

I agree that Aeris' English VA (Mena Suvari) is terrible. To be fair, she does a better job than she did in KH2, but still sounds like a robot... <_<

But I'm so intrigued thinking about how a French Aeris might sound! ^_^

Tifa Lockheart - September 21, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
I'm poor speaking French but I can understand the language. Now I'm curious on how Aerith sounds in French. :hyper:

Mena Suvari shaved her head!!! (okay, that's out of topic but anyway...)... yeah, I agree that she sounded dead, like she's a robot or something when she played Aerith. They could've gotten a better voice for Aerith, someone that sounds more caring and gentle yet still has a level of firmness in it...

Sorry it's so off-topic but i can't help giving a reply for this. Seriously, Resha, that TV premiere on Animax is a nightmare to me. I can't believe a wel-known channel would abuse fans like that!( I mean, they've cut LOTs of scenes and the Chinese sub is horrible... :puke: ) Anyw I'm glad most ppl who saw AC that day already know what original film is, so that won't cause trouble like one of my poor friends had(She never played FF7 games, calling me after the show and yield:"OMG this movie suck! I don't know what the story is trying to say!" )

Oh, about the french dub, I used to find one in Yourtube, but it's in KH mode. I think french speaks the characters well(but Mc Dobald's part drives me crazy... )And I have to admit that Aerith's Eglish VA disappoints me a little too(especially Aerith's "By Who?" line in the film...personally I ain't feel the teasing tone here)Well, just my own thought...
