Title: Best Graphics Software?
FF_Goddess - May 23, 2007 05:42 PM (GMT)
What is the best graphics software for creating avatars, signatures, wallpapers, and webpage backgrounds? And which is easiest to learn to use?

Best I would say is PS CS2... It's great for beginners and pros alike. You can learn more and more just by using it. The set up is extremely simple.(pretty much like paint, but with alot of extras)
But the absolute easiest to learn would just be ms paint of course. =P

Agrees with MCS. Most of the greatest digital artists and so as the beginners use it, CS2 is now underneath CS3=new unit. :P It is however expensive, though you cannot blame it, because the results are just terrific and it's easy to master. You can also use Paint Shop Pro or Corel if Photoshop is a bit pricy for you. The results are still good. ^_^

I've tried photoshop, but never understood it (even with 399 paged manual in finnish, yes I'm that pathetic :'D), so I've stayed on using my beloved Paint Shop Pro 9. <3 I've heard some say psp9 isn't easy to use, but I think it's fairly simple. :o

I use the Second Photoshop CS personally due to how many features there are. (So many I've yet to discover them all!)

I use CS since my Mac CS2 trial ran out. I can't say which is easiest to learn though. I've been using Photoshop for at least five years now and I feel that I'm still learning.

So you would say out of the two, CS2/CS3 is superior than PSP?

So, Photoshop is best? Yeah... I think I am going to have to get a new computer before I buy that. Mine iz teh old. :o

Honestly, the one that is "best" is probably the one people are most used to. I first started seriously doing graphics with "Paint Shop Pro Studio" a very scaled down version of Paint Shop Pro that came with my computer. However, since that's what I'm used to, that's what's easiest for me and translating to Photoshop CS2 has been very difficult for me.
I really don't think the most recent edition of Photoshop is superior over the most recent edition of Paint Shop Pro for casual use (sigs/avatars/etc.) for layouting and more serious jobs like that I can't say though. : /
