Title: New Info And Trailer Transcript From Se Party 2007

Aerith_kun - May 14, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
Well, all the credit goes to Suzaku, from AdventChildren.net
There are lots of new info taken from the SE´s Party 2007 (no new title for the Compilation, though) and a new trailer, longer than the others before this. The transcript:

Square-Enix Party 2007
Crisis Core Trailer Summary and Transcript
Translation by: Pazuzu
Edited by: Suzaku

- Zack and Angeal are in a room in the Shinra builging. Angeal heads out and Zack only sees his back.

Angeal: "Zack, you need to have a dream."

Zack: "Huh?"

Angeal: "If you want to be a hero, have a dream... and pride."

- Zack and Aerith are looking up at the blue sky.

Aerith: "It's beautiful..."

- Zack points at himself.

Zack: "My face?"

- Aerith laughs.

Aerith: No, your eyes.

- Midgar is under attack.

Reno: "The Turks are handlin' Sector 8."

Shizune: "Well then, Tseng, Zack. See you later."

- Cloud and Zack run into each other in Midgar.

Zack: "Ah, we meet again!"

Cloud: "Hello again."

- Zack goes into a rural house.

Zack: "Are you Angeal's mother?"

- The woman looks about 50, is slender and has hair like Angeal's. She's wearing a green jacket like a poncho.

Woman: "Ah, are you little Zack?"

- Angeal, having just rescued Zack in Wutai by using his Buster Sword.

Angeal: "You're more important than a sword."

- Angeal looks a little awkward over what he said.

Angeal: "Only a little, though."

- He makes a "Just a little" sign with his left hand, then holds it out to help Zack up.

Zack: "Thanks."

- Lazard projects an image of Genesis on the monitor.

Lazard: "SOLDIER: 1st Class, Genesis. He went missing in action during combat operations in Wutai a month ago."

- Junon, apparantly before or after the battle between Angeal, Sephiroth and Genesis at Junon.
- Genesis opens Loveless and starts reading. Angeal, beside him, hangs his head and crosses his arms.

Genesis: "What the goddess sends us is a mystery within an abyss"
Genesis: "We leap to our feet"
Genesis: "And create a small ripple"
Genesis: "In the calm waters of our heart"

Sephiroth: "Loveless, Chapter 1. If you have to open that every day, it'll become a pain to read soon enough."

- Sephiroth laughs a bit and taps his head.

- Zack, with his hair styled up, stands in the rain. A single white feather drops from the sky. Zack watches it fall into a puddle.

Zack: "Those wings... I want them too."

- From here, the theme song "Why" starts playing.

- Zack and Sephiroth are in the the woods, looking over the bodies of two soldiers.

Zack: "The renegade SOLDIER: 1st Class...?"

- Sephiroth turns the soldiers over. They both have Genesis's face.

Zack: "The same face?!"

Sephiroth: "Where is Angeal?"

- Shinra building?

Zack: "Did you get anything from Genesis?!"

Lazard: "Seems there wasn't anything at his home either."

- Angeal's home. Angeal's mother is laid out on her bed.

Zack: "?!"

- Angeal is behind Zack, and puts his hand on his shoulder. Zack lets out a shout.

Zack: "What the hell have you done?!"

---

Zack: "Project G..."

Sephiroth: "The project that gave birth to... Genesis."

---

Genesis: "We are monsters. We have lost our pride and our dreams."

---

Angeal: "Even now, I have to keep my pride. While I have this Buster Sword with me."

---

Genesis: "Your fame rightfully belongs to me. Even now..."

Sephiroth: "I don't care."

- Nibelheim. Zack is on the phone somewhere.

Zack: "Sorry, I'm kind of busy right now! I'll call you later."

Aerith: "It's okay, you don't have to."

Zack: "Gotcha."

- Zack is silent for a moment.

Zack: "Then I'll go see you!"

Aerith: "I'll be waiting."

- Cloud and Zack are on two inn beds.

Cloud: "If I was a SOLDIER too, then..."

Zack: "No. You'd be a monster."

---

Angeal: "Angels have only one dream."

Zack: "And that is?"

Angeal: "To be human."

- Angeal sticks the Buster Sword in the ground and turns to Hojo.

Angeal: "Where is Genesis?"

---

Genesis starts shooting fire at Hojo's lab.

Genesis: "That which the goddess sent us... what does that truly mean to us?"

- Genesis has a small green object in his right palm. He opens it and starts to quote Loveless.

Genesis: "I tell of you..."
Genesis: "Of your sacrifice..."
Genesis: "Here, at the world's end."

- Genesis aims his sword at Hollander (a middle-aged man with black hair and a beard, dressed in a labcoat).

Hollander: "You need me! If I wasn't here, who would keep you from degenerating?!"

- Genesis's hair has become white in places, and his clothes are getting ragged.

Genesis: "Jenova's cells."

- Nibelheim, during "the incident".

Sephiroth: "I'm here, Mother."

Zack: "Tell me, Sephiroth! Why did you kill the villagers?! Sephiroth!!"

- Sephiroth impales Cloud. He has Jenova's head in his hand.

Sephiroth: "Don't push it!"

- Zack is alone in the room with the Buster Sword.

Zack: "SOLDIERs fight all enemies... What should I fight? It doesn't matter!"

- Zack takes up the Buster Sword, which is heaver than he thought.

- A helicopter flies over the wastelands. We can hear voices over a transmission.

Tseng: "The army is on the move. You need to get there before they do. Take them alive, no matter what."

Rude: "Understood."

Reno: "Not enough time!"

---

Zack: "We'll meet again."

- Zack falls to the ground and reaches to the sky.

Zack: "Hey, Cloud. Looks like I made it back to Midgar."

- The escape starts going by in flashes.
- Zack, from Cloud's point of view. Cloud reaches out his hand but Zack turns and walks away. His vision blurs.
- Zack is carrying Cloud in the rain, and sets him down on the rocks.
- Aerith, wearing her FF7 clothes, looks after the flowers in the church.- Zack does Angeal's "curse". (raising the Buster Sword and tapping his forehead)

- Cloud's pupils are unfocused, and there's blood on his face and hair. Zack has fallen and is bleeding, his hand losing strength. Cloud's eyesight gradually starts to come into focus. He sees the scene in front of him and screams.

- Trailer ends, displaying the game's logo.

O_O... I want to see it so bad! >.<... And it seems it won´t be settle only in the past, sooo

*seconds that*

More Cloud and more Aerith, wheee!
Thanks for the info, Aerith_kun. Yup, I'm still waiting to see how CC is going to "encompass" the compilation. ^^

nyrin - May 15, 2007 07:28 AM (GMT)
Wow, this is some pretty cool stuff. I really hope that when the compilation is over someone will put this whole story together in a comprehensible way because it's all sort of going over my head right now.

But yay for Zack! And Aeris! I might get disowned for this but I really do think these Zeris scenes are sweet :D I also love our glimpses of the pure untraumatized (sort of) Cloud of old. Great to see the contrast between him and Zack as well as their growing friendship. And boy was Cloud ever cute :fangirl: It's great when you finally get to see more of that side of him in the original game (and a bit in Advent Children).

:lmao: Zack is ego maniac. I like Zeris, but I love Cleris more. How come it takes SO long...my PSP is left untouched for ages...hurry up SE!!! Hehe, not mention of Tifa :P just wanna rub it in Clotis face for some reason.

Since we're dealing with the Nibelheim events too, I wouldn't count her out or anything...but I wonder what kind of role she'll be playing here in Zack's story.
I can't imagine the shock on both ends of the Cleris and Cloti fandoms if SE suddenly threw in some Fack.

Aerith is so lucky though.
She catches the attention of both Zack and Cloud while Tifa is sort of...left hanging. Zack looks very good with Aerith too, so I think Zeris is cute in that sense. The only thing that really bothers me about this pairing, though, is the fact that both characters are bubbly. Bubbly personality+Bubbly personality, I think, would drive me nuts. Imagine Zack hooking up with FFX-2 Yuna or maybe even Rikku. Now that would be scary stuff.

Love what you're thinking HD. Poor Tifa, there's always Barret! XD Apparently, BubblyxBubbly can lead to annoyance, and now imagining, it can be really annoying...imagine Zack nonstop teasing her and Aerith getting easily annoyed. Flirty people are fun to be with, though don't get the wrong side of them.

Ahhh! The tension! *cries* I desperately want to see that trailer.

Lady_leBLanc - May 17, 2007 03:44 PM (GMT)
wow it sounds very interesting :D I'm just interested in Zack-Aerith-Cloud-Tifa stories, the story about Genesis and Angelea etc. is just .... not so FF7 to me somehow

But I'm sooooo keen to see this trailer :fangirl: really cant wait

ff7sam - May 18, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
Hmm, interesting. I totally want to play this game. One thing that I find interesting more than anything, is that Aeris finds Zack's EYES beautifull. It's one of the first things she noticed about Cloud.

QUOTE
Aerith: Oh! You're terrible! Hey……Cloud. Were you…ever in SOLDIER?

Cloud: …… …I used to be. How did you guess?

Aerith: …Your eyes. They have a strange glow…

But also she seems alittle less than interested in Zack calling her. I mean, if I really liked a guy, I don't think I would say something like "You don't have to." Unless I was feeling out how much he liked me. Figuring he would say something like "Of course I want to call you!" but no, he says "Gotcha." BAH! I wish I knew HOW they said it, ya know? On paper it looks weird! XD And I've rambled too much, lol. In conclusion...I really can't wait to play this game! :D

I totally agree. The reference to Zack's eyes being beautiful is an allusion (reference) to Cloud's mako eyes in FFVII.

For a while, Square-Enix has been uncharacteristically non-subtly making parallels between Aerith/Cloud scenes with Aerith/Zack scenes. I kind of find this a bit annoying, because it seems more of a cop-out to me...And I can't help but be a little wary over the message Square-Enix is trying to send by making those similar parallels.

Schala - June 8, 2007 10:58 AM (GMT)
Sounds like an interesting trailer. To think that Genesis reads Loveless. I really wonder what it's about and how it ties into the FF7 main plot...

Agreed. Zack x Aeris is cute, but just feel that this is Square's way of telling us that Zeris is the "true" pairing behind the Cleris in FF7 and it gets on my nerves.

Some of these Zeris scenes annoy me too, not because they prove anything new for Zeris, but simply because they're rip-offs of some of my favorite Cleris scenes.

Really though, I don't think we should worry about CC just because SE decided to go into detail about why Cloud would, later on, remind Aerith of Zack. I mean, we all already knew that fact since she stated herself in the game that he reminded her of her first love. At least SE made it clear that, although Aerith was initially attracted to Cloud because he reminded her of Zack, she also realized that the two were very different from one another. Knowing that, she chose Cloud over her first love...so, meh. Besides, it just might be a bit too early to be judging CC since none of us have played the game yet. You never know. *shrugs*

Well, not exactly Square portraying Zerith as OTP, but that a lot what Aerith saw in Cloud was originally in Zack. In the game, all she'd said that Cloud reminded her PHYSICALLY of Zack, and nothing else. But the more they try to make parallels, the more they seem to be pushing for the fact that Aerith was initially attracted to Cloud because a lot of the moments they shared were similar to what she shared with Zack--so a lot of the early interaction in the game was in a (subconscious) effort "relive" them. Now hear me out: speaking in psychological terms, I think she might have subconsciously transferred her feelings for Zack to Cloud (initially).

I know that Aerith comes to love Cloud as his own person...But what I don't like is the idea that the influence of that subconscious transfer of feelings runs deeper than what I had originally believed.

QUOTE (MwTP)
And so, Tifa accomplished the task. Collating her own memories with that of Cloud's, she looked for the things that only the real Cloud could know. Proofing it all, the closed door was opened. Not leaving Soldier allowed Jenova's power that was implanted in Cloud to copy the Soldier traits of his close friend, Zack's. Drawing out the deep memories that were firmly clammed up inside all of that, she reconstructed his original character instead of the fake character he created to protect himself.

...She was happy. She was happy that she now knew the real Cloud and was able to watch over him, even though it was just for a short while.

What exactly constitutes as "character"? Personality (which is character normally means)? Or just the life of Cloud? She now knew the truth behind Cloud's life? Or did she mean that she knew how the real Cloud was like in terms of personality only after her death?

And here's an earlier excerpt:

QUOTE (MwTP)
Her memories of being with Cloud came to mind again. Her impression was that even though he wasn't very social, there was some cheerfulness about him.

"I felt something odd about him but, was everything really just made up and part of his false character? Cloud wasn't real at all? ...No, that can't be true. There were things that only Cloud could think of. Things that he done because he was Cloud. He was never an empty vessel to begin with!"

But she couldn't figure out the truth. Her thoughts just went in circles. Aerith delved into her memories again. Memories that showed Cloud's individuality. The way he walked. She remembered all his actions one by one...

Most of those thoughts merged into the Sea of Mako and awakened a character.
The character recognized the image she recalled and "he" woke up.

"Aerith... Is that you?"

At first, Aerith couldn't remember whose voice it was because it was so sudden. Panicking, she turned round and saw a nostalgic face she hadn't seen for five years. He was her light taste of first love. He was also now a very dear friend who she hadn't seen ever since she heard nothing from him. He had the same character she saw in Cloud.

This seems to suggest that what she saw in Cloud was more than just a physical resemblence to Zack. It was personality too (i.e. she sensed Zack's cheerfulness in Cloud, and even Cloud's individuality merged to form the image of Zack), which sounds rather ludicrous to me--but hey, I'm not Square-Enix.

QUOTE (Hades' Daughter)

That too. Actually, that's probably what mainly underlies my irritation.

Seriously, I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions, I haven't played the game yet myself, but it just kinda seems to me like they are trying to tie this up in a nice little bow. Aeris can be happy she has Zack and Cloud can somehow begin to love Tifa..although it still seems highly unlikely to me! XD Make a game to make the fans like the idea of AerisXZack, and like the idea of Zack as the hero instead of Cloud somehow and voila, all will be good. Take all the drama that was FFVII and just make it all pleasant. Which really irritates me. On a different note though, it makes me wonder...if everything was pleasant in his life, would Cloud have to change his last name? XD

Guys...I don't think they had Zeris as the new canon in mind while making this game. At least I don't even think shipping really mattered to them at all. Its just specific fans who interpret the game that way. Personally, I choose to interpret it as merely a game that shows the past - the past which of course, included Zeris. I would expect no less from a game about the events before FF7. What matters is looking at the compilation as a whole.

Cloud Fair? :P

But furthermore, how would that have affected his relationship with Aerith? With Tifa? Just something to speculate on...

But I think Cloud is just moody by nature--with or without Sephiroth and all that angst. He certainly would be a lot more cheerful, but still the brooding, silent archetype of the animes and mangas in the past. Think Radiant Garden: before Sephiroth, before KH timeline-wise and the war and Sora. Cloud and Aerith grew up together there, didn't they? If I recall correctly, they got seperated when Cloud was around thirteen-years-old. If he was searching for Aerith ever since then (in KH, he was 24), then they must have close enough as kids for him to feel that she was his light. Or is FFVII a part of his background since Jiminy's Journal states that Cloud was a SOLDIER in KHII?

QUOTE (nyrin)

We should wait until after it's released, of course. But still, even with the compilation--MwTP most of all, I'm leaning towards the notion that the initial subconscious transfer of feelings from Zack to Cloud went further than I had originally believed (in the game, it emphasized physical resemblence; now, they're going farther than that--it even includes personality-wise as well).

Shipping probably wasn't Square's main focus in CC, that's why they changed the tagline and all. <_< But I think that to a degree, shipping does matter to them (how could it not, considering how much attention it receives?), otherwise, Cloud would be nicely settled down with either Tifa or Aeris by now; Square wouldn't have been so careful to stay neutral about it. Thus, I'm not worried about CC being overly Zeris. I just like to keep myself mentally prepared and not get my hopes up too high. As much as I rave about them, I've been skeptical about the new Compilation games.

Sadly, that's why I resent Zeris in CC. I just can't help but question the motives in drawing all the parallels that everyone already knew existed. It could that the Zeris scenes that weren't meant to diminish the worth of the similar Cleris scenes, but one does wonder... Everyone's right though, it's not good to jump conclusions! It's better that I get more interested in the Genesis, Angeal, Sephiroth dynamic than the Zeris stuff! And Tseng too. I look forward to seeing him again in this game.
