Well, this game won't be coming out for a while - I say go for the DS. I have one and it is so wonderful. Plus the DS has overall better games/gameplay, it'll keep you happy and occupied until DFF comes out.

The DS is a lot cheaper as well. By the time this game comes out, hopefully Sony will drop the price a bit. I have both systems right now but I'm also quite poor. :lol: The DS really does have better games than the PSP right now.

I say get a PSP and chip, mod it, and DL all the FFs from nes, snes, gba, and psone and play those until DFF comes out. =P Portable FFVII so PWNs the DS imo. It costs more but I love it. It's illegal to mod and play emulator games though. =)

I don't know if you already know but it's confirmed that Sephiroth is gonna be on Dissidia and that leads to another conclussion: that is a possibility (if not a fact) that Cloud will be on dissidia

Basically all main characters from FF1 to FF9 are confirmed. =) And most villains from FF1-9 will also be in it.

I would imagine 2D chibi sprites like Jump Superstars. Good game btw. But of course I would rather have Dissidia on the psp.. more to work with in terms of graphics and space.

And I swear I saw this type of game coming every since I bought and played Ergheiz. Well played it on arcade first... OMG. I completely forgot about Ergheiz on arcade. O.O I want the arcade version now... of course the rarity and the fact that its an arcade machine would make that next to impossible. T_T

Not really. I don't know the specific specs for each system, but RE ported on the DS was just fine and there were no chibified zombies.

Anyway this game looks fun! I'm hoping if we get all the heroes/heroines, we get to play as Aeris. And fight Sephiroth. XD

I meant that any and all FF and FF related games(so far at least) on any nintendo system has never had regular sized characters. They were all chibi. Thats why I believe that if it were on the DS they would be chibi-fied.

I think people less familiar with the DS or Nintendo in general like to assume that everything on it is chibi or childish looking. It's really too bad how most seem to think the look of it overrides how amazingly fun the games are. I personally buy games for the fun factor and not judge how they look. I hated how Wind Waker on the GameCube looked, but I have nothing but praise for how fun that game is. Nintendo knows how to make REAL games and not base them on pure hype.

And Square wouldn't chibify everything if the fans didn't want it. FFIII was an amazing success on the DS (not surprising at all with how fun it is) and I think they know people want more.

I think everyone else has already said this, but... I love Zidane's design! :fangirl: And the other guy is Cecil, right? I did wonder what he looked like in 3D. The graphics are nice and sharp, like KH2's! I'm definitely getting this game when it comes out, but I hope that it's going to be more than just a fighting game. Wonder what kind of moves Aeris will get.

I've check the scan. The knight is actually the Warrior of Light from FF1, based on Amano's concept artwork. I read the katakana, so I know.

I seriously don't think EVERY character from FFI to FFIX will appear. I think that's just a misleading statement. If they really do add every single character, I'd be greatly impressed. But I wouldn't assume anything until official validations of certain characters are made.

Uh, I mean...I like his design. Also, didn't realise until now that Zidane have a ponytail. :o

Also saw *some* elements of RPG in the screenshots, as it seems that you can level up.

I would like to think that I'm pretty familiar with the DS and Nintendo.. Mostly because I've owned just about every handheld and system from the Nes and Gameboy to the Gamecube and DS.(Debating whether or not to get a Wii)

And yes there are some games that aren't childish at all and some are very fun.(The Castlevania series comes to mind right now)

But allow me to explain myself... I was basing my opinion on what S-E has given us so far. What exactly have they given us on the Nintendo? Pixels mostly... and 3d? Crystal Chronicles, oh and FFTA. Now basically everything has been chibi'ed out. The Gamecube is cabable of graphics on par if not better than the PS2 yet they made CC out of chibis. The DS could remake the original RE pretty well but they choose to make the FFIII chars chibi as well. And the same goes for the upcoming FFVI. Now I'm not saying that these games aren't fun.. but I have been wondering what is S-E up to with this.

And I do have to argue about Nintendo making "real" games and about "hype". About (I'd guess) 70 or so percent of their games are recycled ideas. Lets think about how many times we've saved Princess Peach, Daisy and Zelda. Now lets think about how many times we've mario partied. And then think about the many faces of Mario... we've got pixel mario, chibi mario, raccoon tail mario, rpg mario, 3d mario, paper mario, 3d with water backpack mario, etc etc... And these are just the mario's that save the princess. We haven't gotten to the multiple marios in a racing kart, or the marios that brawl. Now they may be fun games but they get as much hype as any other popular game... Smash Bros anyone? Probably the most overhyped game ever... why? Because it has your favorite nintendo character. Gameplay is just about the same as before... all recycled, but they add better graphics, new characters and stages. Maybe a few extra mini games... and then voila! ...it's hyped like an FFVII remake.

And I believe FFIII would have been a success on any system, be it a handheld or on console.

And now onto Dissidia...

Garland reminds me of Nightmare from Soul Caliber and Kuja looks like he's wear a cup with a towel tucked into it from the back. Not a good image for me. >.O

I think this game, along with Crisis Core and the remakes of the earlier Final Fantasies will eventually lead me to the purchase of a PSP instead of a Nintendo DS... but still unsure of what I want to do with that... But so far, those would be the deciding factors for me.

I prefer the old Zidane and Kuja from FFIX. :( But I guess those will do just fine. ^_^

I'm curious if FFII's characters Firion and Maria will appear, too. :o

Looks really cool so far! :hyper: And I am glad that FFIX is getting some attention, especially Zidane, who I think is a really underrated hero. FFIX has been pretty neglected these past few years, which is very sad, because I really enjoyed that game.

Looks oddly Kingdom Hearts-esque to me. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. (Plus I hate Zidane XD) Still, as long as it isn't on PS3 I'll give it a look! At least the Hero of Light looks good! :D

And, yeah, I was planning on buying a PSP sometime anyways, what with CC coming out.

Oh if I get a PSP the ONLY thing that'll be allowed to be played on it will be Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War! XD Sorry Dissidia but my love of FFT has defeated all games!

I love it that FF9 are getting some attention, plus it's nice to see Zidane instead of Cloud. Though I like his new look, Kuja's original design is teh better.

I think that the more battle-oriented characters will be playable, while others are in Mini-games.*shrugs* Hey, got this image of Aeris, Rinoa, Garnet and maybe other earlier female characters competing in a mini-game.

I wonder if Nomura will be using Vivi's KH2 design? Assuming Vivi'll appear. There will be Hell to pay if there's no Vivi! :rabid:
