I can't find any placed that support Cloud and Tifa coupling. I really do what to know what they think so much, but everything I find is either fanfics or "You can plainly see the love between them," and to be perfecrtly honest I plainly can't. Maybe it's my denseness, or maybe my love for Cleirth/Cleris that keeps me from seeing it. So I would like some help, I wanna understand both to get thier point of veiw, but I can't find any place.

Help?

...um...check out the forums at Adventchildren.net, or I'm sure there are many shrines out there like Loveless, for example, that you can visit. Loveless is a site dedicated to Tifa, but it does contain a whole lot of Cloti views. :giggle:

Well it is the love triangle forum and the only other forum I don't belong to, so why not? If people wanna add Clerith proof I don't care. In all honesty I just wanted to know without being tramples around by Cloud and Tifa people, "darlin'".

Mainly I just wanna see what they think, I like to get both sides so when I debate I know where people are coming from. I'll always be a Clerith for the fact I'm set on them as the original Final Fantasy VII couple, but it's just a part of me that is curious

There's nothing wrong with being curious. I support a CloudxTifa relationship that is purely platonic mind you. I view the two as very close friends, allies and Tifa is somewhat like a big sister/motherly figure towards Cloud IMO.

Clotis come up with all kinds of backwater ideas that makes it seems as though CloudxTifa are the true and canon couple of FFVII. There's the whole Highwind scene in the game, there's the Lifestream scene, Tifa's clinginess to Cloud throughout the 2nd disc, the fact that Aerith isn't alive physically anymore, the 'koibito' term from the Reunion Files, Case of Tifa (Tifa's official novel) and then they use all kinds of stuff in AC to back up their theories and that's what makes Cloti's think that CloTi is canon.

You can find all kinds of crazy stuff that's posted on forums, websites and (dare I say it) wikipedia (damn Clotis are always constantly changing it) that these people try and "put together" to make it all true...when clearly it's not, but they refuse and fail to see our side of it. I can see why they would think CloudxTifa are the true couple, but I don't support it. Clotis on the other hand, don't generally try and understand or come to terms with how we feel when it comes to CloudxAerith.

I think it's a little hard to look around sites of any pairing and not find a horrible amount of bias/twisted theories. I think it's best to get any kind of info on a pairing from someone who is 100% neutral on the subject. I mean, I seriously haven't seen a cloti fan site that I found more than 70% reliable with their posted information. It's really sad how bias and personal opinion can get in their way especially.

Very true, I'm still trying to find a site, though Marionette supplied a very good one, I could tell how bias/twisted theories a lot of the proof is. Still I find it odd that when I type in "Cloud and Aerith" on MSN I get a ton of proof sites and when I type in "Cloud and Tifa" most of what I get is fan fics. O_o

But I really get all my evidance from the game, and some from Advent Children. But the again proof sites catch things I don't, sadly I'm quite dence. D:

yeah, sorry, you're going to find a lot of fanfic in place of Cloud/Tifa proof. I believe a lot of the support for this pairing comes from sympathy/empathy with Tifa's position (unrequited love; most of us have been there at some point) and worship of her character, which results in some of the fans wanting what they think she wants most, regardless of what Cloud thinks/feels.

A lot of their proof might also come from the ova, Last Order, which is just another interpretation of that scene in the game (meaning it differs from canon), and would only really point towards possible romantic feelings in the past, before Aerith came along...thus kinda making it irrelevant to the LTD. ;)

I, too, have wondered where the 'proof' was for this coupling. Mostly I got 'reasons why' instead. True conversation:

Young friend: I like Aerith as long as she stays away from Cloud because he belongs to Tifa!

Me: Really?

Young friend: Yes! She has Zack anyway!

Me: But Aerith does not love Zack. She said she loves Cloud.

Young Friend: *(has not read MoTP or much of the compilation) Nooo! But why--

Me: And really, I don't think Cloud loves her in that way...

Young Friend: But he made that promise with her when they were kids! They were friends!

Me: Er...no, they weren't friends as kids. That 'promise' was something Tifa forced him into and it came with a condition...plus, if Cloud really loved Tifa, I think he would have gotten with her by now...and he hasn't. Not even 3 years after the original game ended. He's just been looking for the flower girl up until about the end of Advent Children, when he finally figured out that she's always there. That was such a pretty bonus video, you should see it sometime!

Young Friend: But it would have worked out so neatly if she had just got with Zack again!

Me: Neatly? Sure--but since when do feelings like that ever work out that neatly? There's no sense in forcing people into relationships when the feeling just isn't there, right?

Me: It's ok, you can still love your favorite pairing, y'know? Doesn't have to be the real deal for you to enjoy it, that's what is so great about it not being real.

Nicely said. Some fans who use that logic to justify Zeris amaze me. They just shove Aerith into his arms, and Cloud into Tifa's, and Cid into Vincent's, and Yuffie into Reeve's ad nauseam... everybody ends up with someone, and FFVII is neatly wrapped in glittery paper, complete with a flipping bow.

As if relationships ever end up so orderly!

The problem with approaching forums and fanclubs to ask for their opinions is that, once you let on you're a Cleris, I can easily see some Clotis putting up their defenses. My suggestion would be to head to the Cloti fanclubs, and shift through their older posts. Usually when a fanclub starts out, members have a lot to say about why they love their pairing and such, and usually, it's sincerely about why they love their pairing and less to do with putting down others.

Faith is the Cloti fanclub on Adventchildren.net. You can also try looking at the Cloti LJ community. LTD threads would be the last place I suggest, because everyone's got their claws out and I'd expect to leave it with a distinctly bitter taste for either pairing.

Or you can sniff out the Cloti members here and PM them for their opinions. They're not allowed to support Cloti on this board, but there should be nothing wrong in PMs. :)

Hmm, are you looking for reasons Clotis support their pairing, or Cloti proof? I feel there's a difference--I've written posts about why I love Cleris, and they have almost no mention of the "proofz" that permeate the LTD threads.

Yeah, we're just offering sources for where Cloti views can be found...so I figured it was alright. Of course, we're not saying that we advocate those views or anything. :P

To all the mods thank you for not deleteing my subject, thank you for understanding. I'm not 100% agreeing with a lot of the sites I've found on Cloud and Tifa being a couple. The proof contradicts itself. And they only had it on one level. Like, "Cloud and Tifa knew each other for a long time", but they weren't friends (And if they were they coupldn't have been that close if Cloud couldn't remember the promise Tifa forced on him).

I did, but on read a total of 7 sites (I read nutural's and Cloud and Tifa sites.) I've found most is bias or prooven wrong. I think my hate for the couple has grown upon reading this. It's not just the fact I'm mad with Cloud and Tifa fans, but the evidance and what I read more and more about how the pairing works, is twisted and based upon force and false statments.

Unfortunately, a lot of CloTis are like that, Rikitty. They don't have enough real evidence, so they have to twist facts to make their pairing seem more legitimate. The truth of the matter is, the creators have always favored Cloud with Aerith. And CloTis don't have any proof otherwise, IMO.

That can happen. I was tired of fighting them, but one evidence site I found got me pumped and I fight about it as long as I can.

While it's nice to see the views of both sides by going to different forums and sites, it's truly up to you and your own interpretation of the game. You shouldn't have to rely on any of these places to persuade you to join a side.

Point taken. It's true you can prefer people, but like you said it's all how you interperate the game.

I've found the best bet is to present yourself with saying something like, "I kinda like Cloud/Tifa, but I like Cloud/Aeris a bit too. I'm really not so sure which works better for me." or something like that. Then people typically don't hold anything against you, yet their alot more willing to lure you to their side.

I terribly hate the couple actually. That's why I wanted to see what people thought about the couple, but I found I've grown to hate them even more, ironic no? But I have actually found all I need so if mods want to delete this topic (Which I don't beleive I can do myself) they can at any time.
