I have become obsessed with The Phantom of The Opera.
I had to watch it for an English assessment, and I totally fell in love. :wub: Especially with the Phantom. I absolutely adored the forbidden love between him and Christine, the young soprano he took under his wing.
Their connection was so deep, soulful and meaningful. He loved her so much, but she didn't chose him. :sad: She chose that annoying pretty boy Rauol, because if she chose the Phantom she would be condemned to spend eternity with him in darkness, because of his deformity.
Christine's relationship with Rauol was sooooo nothing special. <_< It was just a typical romance that tennagers would have. With the Phantom, on the other hand, it was passion, fiery seductive passion.

Even though Christine ended up with Rauol in the movie, I, and everyone else as it seems, think and believe that she and Erik, the Phantom, were soulmates.
She refers to him as her Angel of Music, and falls for him, not through his looks, but through his voice. :wub:

I'll join! I've been a big fan of Erik x Christine ever since I read the Leroux novel. I wish I could watch the movie, alas, I have not the money for the DVD. I have watched some clips though (I'm liking the Point of No Return and Down Once More/Final Lair scenes . :D) and I wholeheartedly believe that Christine x Erik should have been given another chance. I think my heart broke when she returned the ring to him. Poor Erik, indeed!

It seems that Raoul gets a lot of hate. Seriously though, how can anyone really like him when he looks so wimpish in the movie. That wig especially... How he beats Erik in a duel is beyond me. Oh, Christine, why couldn't you have chosen Erik instead of leaving him all alone? :cry:

I think they made Raoul really annoying and irritating on purpose. I totally agree with you, plus he could even get together with Meg and the same thing would happen.

I agree completely. Well, except I haven't noticed the blinking part. I'm not surprised though; you just can't blink when you looking at Erik.
