Have you noticed how different Cloud's speech in the Japanese version is? In the English version it may seem that Cloud is talking about the prayer, but in the Japanese version it sounds like Cloud may be talking about his feelings for Aeris.

"Aerith... I'm sorry. I should have noticed! ... You left us so soon and I panicked...I didn't think and that's why I didn't notice... but it's too late now to tell you. Aerith...now I understand. Don't worry, I'll do the rest."

Compared to the English version

"I'm sorry... Aerith. I should have figured this out sooner."
It was all so sudden, so I couldn't think..."
"That's why it took so long for me to find out... But, Aerith...
I understand now."



I think it would've been really sweet if the first one was Cloud talking abouy his feelings for Aerith. It sounds like that to me, especially with the lines I put in bold.

They probably didn't change it on purpose maybe they just screwed up the translation, you know they did a lot of that in FF7. :lol:

Yeah, I am sure it was just a translation error. Seems to be a lot of those in FFVII. The Japanese one sounds so much like his own feelings about her!

It sounds more to me like Cloud is talking about how he was in denial about his obvious feelings for Aerith from both translations, but that only show much I know (which isn't a lot.)

I find it really cute that even in the game Cloud admits that he lost it when Aerith left.That right there shows MoTP is "canon" .
It's even more cute that Cloud was telling Aerith not to worry.Even though she wasn't there.I like that Cloud said HE'LL do the rest.Seems like Cloud didn't want anyones help defeating Sephiroth.Geee I wonder what Cloud was gonna tell Aerith :3

This speech truly makes my heart cry for the Clerith relationship. :sad: Cloud became broken and tried to make himself go numb. Yet in his speech, it sounds like he's trying to say that he had always loved Aerith, but he tried ignoring that, and he lost his chance to ever be happy with her. Seriously, Cloud bums me out... So now, he's going to kill Sephiroth in her honor.

EHHEHH?!!! did he truly say this? But we cant really guarantee this was towards his feelings, or noticing feelings, since he adds in the end that he'll do the rest ya know?
