Blargh. for three days next week and the week after I get to take that test that all the lucky kids in Washington love so much. The very lovely WASL. OK, first it wasn't so bad. You only had to take it every 3 or so years and you didn't have the horrible fact that "YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO DO GOOD ON THIS TEST OR ELSE YOU DON'T GET ELECTIVES IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!111!!" thing looming over you. Those days are gone. Now we get to take it every single year, and you have to pass it in high school if you have graduation plans.
Our Flex teacher did tell us that they're trying to get it so we don't have to take it every year. Oh, Flex is another thing I love about that test. Whatever you don't pass on the WASL, you get to take a class on that subject. Which makes absolutely no sense to me, I always pass Writing. Oh well, Flex is just a huge joke anyway. Very rarely do teachers take it seriously and make you do anything. Thank God.
Anyway, it's the Math part that's stressing me out. I've never really been bad at Math, but I'm really kind of sucking at it this year. Well, I kind of sucked at Math last year and that section of the WASL was sort of easy. Poo. I'm just not looking forward to having my schedule screwed up and I'm REALLY not in the mood for a test...Ah well, gotta do it...
Alright, I can't be the only one living in Washington. Anyone know what I'm getting at? :)
I believe the class that I was in was the last in HS where it didn't effect if you got your HS diploma. I was also the last class that didn't require the house system and a final senior project in our school. Lucky. I did good in all the WASL tests I did either way. It's cake. Everything in there is common knowledge stuff.
I'v been out of school for a few years now, can't remember much of it but I remember they were talking about putting harder tests and passing requirements after i left.
