Title: Something I Discovered
Description: More stuff against Cloud and Tifa

LadyAerith - April 6, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
I wasn't sure whether or not to post this in the Dirge of Cerberus forum or just post it here, but I've just found more stuff from the strategy guide AND the little booklet that comes with the game. I think it's hilarious how a lot of CloTi's like to carry on that Cloud and Tifa are together at the end of AC and that they probably got married, blah blah blah. Well anyway, I was reading through the strategy guide today and looking at the characters and it shows Tifa. It reads by her name:

After helping Cloud set up his delivery service, Tifa got involved with the displaced youth of Midgar and opened an orphanage. She keeps in close contact with Cloud and Barret and remains the steadying force she always was- or atleast tried to be. Although she has a small role in this game, she remains as likable as ever and continues to show the traits that always made her such a great friend.

Now, where are the indications that she and Cloud are together??? THERE ARE NONE!!! If she and Cloud were together in the first place, I think it would have stated that in the character descriptions, don't you? Also it says that she keeps in close contact with both Cloud and Barret. So what does that tell you? lol

Also in the little mini booklet when it tells about the FFVII characters, it refers to Tifa as:
Cloud's childhood friend and a master of martial arts (not Cloud's girlfriend, not Cloud's wife either...)
In the booklet when describing Aerith it says:
a girl with the blood of the Ancients running through her veins, who Cloud would never forget.

So yeah, I wasn't sure if this had been shared yet so I figured I'd go ahead and post it ^_^ :cleris:

Yeah, the DoC booklet was already mentioned.

I'm not sure Tifa opened an orphanage though. That's a little too weird.

Oh  I skimmed through the threads, but didn't see anything. I'm sorry. I thought it might be a topic we could discuss. As for Tifa opening an orphanage, I actually wouldn't put it past her that she did, considering Denzel is an orphan too and all those kids the SHM took in AC were all orphans, were they not? Cloud went to rescue them all, but meh, I dunno. It does sound like something Tifa would do IMO

Shoo...whatever happened to Tifa the Koibito?

Conveniently invisible until one of her male prospects (Zack, Vincent, Barret, Reno, Rufus, other males, etc) was nearby and share a moment with him.

Nope, not being hopeful. Much.

Barret isn't left out!

Nope, never.
He's only invisible to delusional Clotis, apparently. :giggle:

You know, I sometimes wonder if the rabid Cloud/Tifa fanbase has deluded themselves into believing Barret got stabbed along with Aerith.

Bet it'd make things so much easier for them.

Oh wait, it doesn't. Why?

Because the one date Cloud had with Aerith, the woman he still could never forget, is still far more romantic progression than 8 years of NOTHING with Tifa.

Love your find from the strategy guide, LadyAerith!

Unfortunately, I can already see its validity being contested, since I doubt it was written by SE. The orphanage is interesting--it's really enhancing my image of Tifa as never marrying, but staying as a single mother-figure to all these parent-less children.

Not that, you know, women who run orphanages can't get married... but there's something about that image of matronly, single woman. It seems like a fitting future for her after all she's been through.

Angelalex242 - April 8, 2007 12:55 PM (GMT)
...Ya know. That's an image Terra had too (FF6). Terra isn't shown falling in love with anybody...unless you count General Leo who she may or may not have had a crush on and...surprise, he ends up dead. Imagine that.

Anyways, she ends up running the Mobliz Orphanage on her own. And like a certain somebody else, the first time she fights Phunbaba, he pwns her. Rather like a certain someone else got pwned. The only way I've ever beaten Phunbaba with Terra alone is by abusing Vanish Doom.

Fecking A.

Seriously - even not counting their childhood, Cloud and Tifa have about 3 years together NOT BEING A COUPLE. You'd think three years of no romance would give people a hint that it's not gonna happen.

I think all them Clotis are wet! They seem to be in da-nile! (da-nile, denile) get it?
I crack myself up xD
But they always end up saying some stuff like relationships take time to develop blah blah
They just dont want to admit that Cloud and Tifa will never get together based on everything square has provided

Yes, exactly. You know, for a guy who supposedly left to join SOLDIER just for HER--he sure didn't seem to give a rat's ass the second time he saw her and realized she survived the attack from before. =p

FF_Goddess - April 10, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
It's also interesting that Tifa is still being called Cloud's friend when CloTis are insisting that Nomura solved the LT in RF with that koibito crap. If he had really solved it with those two sentences, wouldn't Tifa now be referred to as Cloud's GF or lover or something? :shifty:

Inuyatta - April 11, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Well, technically, I figured he solved the LTD in the original game, but...

What was that line from the Princess Bride again?

"Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while. "--or something to that effect. How very true.

So what is it we have since the latest installment to the franchise?

Tifa - Cloud's friend
Aerith - Someone whom Cloud would never forget.

Gee. Complicated, huh?

Exactly. Clotis have this big romantic idea over the promise, when it was just a plot device so Tifa could help Cloud out in the lifstream. He doesn't remember it, not even in CoT when they go back. In fact, not even Tifa says, "Oh, at least we had that memory!" In fact, they can't wait to leave. XD;

And if she "keeps in close contact" with him, that means 7th Heaven isn't his permanent home - just like the other Avalanche members, it's a place where they can all rest their heads when they want to, it's not where they really live.

That's true. The watertower scene is never mentioned again. Ever. You'd think Tifa would reminisce over it somewhere in CoT...

I figure that the truth learned in the Lifestream was a lot more bitter than it's given credit for. Cloud learned his true past, which came a boatload of other emotional baggage: how much he was ignored in his childhood, and Tifa's role in it. While Tifa may have seen the promise as something romantic in the beginning of the game, I think it's been tainted by the reality that they were never close friends to begin with.

LadyAerith - April 18, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
I have to agree with that and also, if I were Cloud and knew Tifa lied to me about something as big as that...well...I'm sorry but I wouldn't trust her, nor want to persue something furthermore with her with her either.
