Title: Lost Odyssey

I was talking to my brother and he told me that Final Fantasy is doomed. Because of SE is refusing to port it's not going to sell that well and now the team that works on FF is working on a new game for X-Box 360. Apparently its about you living for 1000 years and meeting people, going on quests, dealing with their aging and deaths, etc. He seems to believe that Lost Odyssey is taking FF's place. <_<

"Refuse to port"? Sorry, I'm completely lost on console lingo. >_<
Either way, I don't think SE will abandon their main series. They might stop it one day, but only after a really big bang, I feel. I don't mind if they focus on other types of games, anyway. For a long time, I've kept seeing (and saying myself) comments that SE has been recycling too many ideas in their games.
The concept behind Lost Odyssey seems pretty cool, although it being on the Xbox immediately renders it non-existent in my eyes. :P

Agreed. SE will never stop FF series until they made a great game that gives them and us the feeling that it's over, yet gives a sense of accomplishment, a great finisher of a gaming series.
Lost Odyssey sound nifty, even if I may never get the game, much less the console for it. :P

I wasn't talking about 11. I was talking about 13. They multi-platformed 11 due to it being an MMO.

I'm still stumped as to what possesed them to make the eleventh installment an MMO instead of just giving the MMO a sub name and keeping it out of the main series. Though since it's been a long time, I'm less annoyed with it now.
On them not porting to the X-Box 360 spelling doom for them? Ha. I laugh at that. If anything, it'll be a prime reason more PS3's sell, just as Metal Gear Solid 4 will be. To be honest, the PS3 really needs it, as it hasn't gotten any titles just yet that make it worth the investment. Though the 360 isn't much better.
On Final Fantasys in general, I don't forsee it going away for quite completely. Maybe more time in between installments, but never go away completely. It's quite literally their star franchise. Square making more time between installments would be a good idea though, as would them branching out to work on other stuff too. Final Fantasy has been their powerhouse franchise for quite awhile, and while I don't feel it'll ever truely go away, I do think they should focus on other properties more to go with them.

My sentiments exactly. XD
Though it's interesting. Sounds a bit like the premise of the Highlander franchise in the living a long time, going on quests and everyone around you dying eventually (though in Highlander's case, it would be immortal, not living a thousand years). Except this will probably not revolve around massive climactic swordfights, the quickening or beheadings. XP

I'm gonna buy it. My brother got us a 360 so why not? *throws rocks at FFXIII and the PS3* FFXIII looks lame anyways.
