Title: Riddles

Scott - March 21, 2007 07:58 PM (GMT)
Aah, I'm a big fan of riddles, always have been. I post a riddle, the person who answers it can post the next riddle and so on. (If this is better off in the spam section, please move :) )

Nice easy one to start off...

I'm the part of the bird that's not in the sky. I can swim in the ocean and yet remain dry. What am I?

Kusari Yarou - March 24, 2007 09:48 AM (GMT)
Ooh, let's see...feathers? :P

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - March 24, 2007 11:20 AM (GMT)
The shadow...? :o

Kusari Yarou - March 24, 2007 11:34 AM (GMT)
^ *sheepish* Pyra's right, isn't she? Silly me, thinking in terms of ducks feathers, which don't get wet

Scott - March 24, 2007 01:00 PM (GMT)
Yep, Pyra's got it right :D Pyra can post the next riddle, or anyone else who has a good one :)

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - March 24, 2007 08:24 PM (GMT)
No wonder that riddle sound familiar. Let's see...I'm sure you guys heard of this one.

What has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three in the evening?

Angelalex242 - March 25, 2007 01:44 AM (GMT)
Man.

He crawls on 2 hands and 2 feet as a babe, walks upright as a man, and dodders along with a cane in old age.

And I know my mythology well enough to know you ripped off the Sphinx's riddle. ;)

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - March 25, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
^Alex's right. Beside, it's the first thing that came into mind and Scott didn't say what kind of riddles we can use.

Okay, you put up a riddle, Alex, or someone else?

Kaldea - March 25, 2007 04:48 AM (GMT)
A petshop owner had a parrot with a sign on it's cage that said "Parrot repeats everything it hears." A young man bought the parrot and for two weeks he spoke to it and it didn't say a word. He returned the parrot but the shopkeeper said he never lied about the parrot. How can this be?

Angelalex242 - March 25, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
Parrot is deaf.

Gotcha. ;)

Next time, it shall be harder, sir. It shall indeed.

Paladin's Heart - March 31, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
Arnold Schwarzenegger has a long one, George Bush has a short one. Madonna and Cher don't have one. What is it?

Angelalex242 - March 31, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
Last Name.

Try harder. :winner:

The Collection - April 15, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
um, let me try one... white flesh above, brown gills below, I move not an inch, in darkness I grow, what am I?

Angelalex242 - April 15, 2007 03:29 AM (GMT)
Mushroom.

Nice try.

The Collection - April 15, 2007 03:33 AM (GMT)
dang, mmm... I am big, I am old, my head is cold and my feet are warm, what am I?

Angelalex242 - April 15, 2007 04:56 AM (GMT)
Mountain.

You'll have to do better then that! :)

Paladin's Heart - April 15, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
How do you put an Elephant in the fridge?

(I hope this counts as a riddle >_<)

Kusari Yarou - April 15, 2007 12:06 PM (GMT)
Open fridge door, shove the elephant in, and shut the door? XD

MistaCloudStrife - April 15, 2007 01:30 PM (GMT)
How do you put a giraffe in the fridge?

Pyra Kurai Akaidra - May 9, 2007 10:52 AM (GMT)
A king dine with his sister,
His friend and friend's wife
They all love food
More then life
When there's only three pies
With no knives
How can they have their share
Without causing strife?

Sorry, have to see if anyone can solve this.

Hades' Daughter - May 9, 2007 01:39 PM (GMT)
Darn, Alex has them all nailed down...

Cut it apart and shove everything in the fridge, right? *sux with riddles*

King gets one, sister gets one, friend and friend's wife can share without a knife? XD
Or better yet, the King gets all 3 pies. No Strife.

Scott - May 9, 2007 02:18 PM (GMT)
His friend's wife is his sister?

I'm agreeing with this statement. The king can get one just because he's king, the sister get one because she's of royal blood and the friend and his wife share one.

His friend's wife is his sister?

Actually, Scott's right.

Since the king's sister is his friend's wife, there's actually three people at the tablea and therefore, they all have their fair share without killing each other having trouble over it.

Hey, only get it from Deltora Quest series. Now if only I can remember the Sorceress Thaegan one...

Anyway: What does the beggar have, that a rich man needs and the dead eats?

First think of the person who lives in disguise,
Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies.
Next, tell me what's always the last thing to mend,
The middle of middle and end of the end?
And finally give me the sound often heard
During the search for a hard-to-find word.
Now string them together, and answer me this,
Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?

Yeah go on im rubbish

auril - May 17, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
the answer is SPIDER of course. The riddle from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" :winner:

illwaitforever1 - May 20, 2007 05:41 PM (GMT)

Johnny's mum has three kids. The eldest child is called April and the middle is named May. Can you tell me what the name of her third child is?

Marionette - May 21, 2007 06:20 AM (GMT)
The third child's name is Johnny.

Here's one:
What comes once in a minute, twice in a moment, but never in a thousand years?

illwaitforever1 - May 21, 2007 01:22 PM (GMT)
