Description: Boyfriend, fiance, husband

I am just curious how you guys met your SO? I've shared my story numerous times and I thought I'd go ahead and share it with you guys. So was it meant-to-be? Was it fate? Are you still searching? Maybe my story will help keep you all positive on finding "the one" because I feel mine was fate. This is how my husband and I met. I used to be one who wasn't all that big into internet relationships, but...

I was living at home with my parents and the only real escape I had from school and them was the internet. At this point in time, I really enjoyed going into Yahoo chatrooms and just meeting people, talking and having fun after school on the computer.

So anyway, I met this person by the name of Guitargod and mine was FlyGirl. We got to talking and we both downloaded Yahoo Messenger. We talked every single day. We became fast friends and I would spill my guts to him about things that bothered me, etc...well, we talked and stayed close, online friends for 2 years until the day my parents kicked me out and I was sent back to Indiana to live with my grandma.

I lost touch with Guitargod and didn't get a chance to tell him I was leaving or anything. So, I'm living in Indiana, got a job, and meet this girl I work with by the name of Courtney. We get to be really good friends and she offers me to come out and meet "The guys" (all of her friends) one night so I could get to know more people around the area. I agreed, but can be pretty shy around a lot of people.

So, she tells me that "the guys" are hanging out at her cousin's house. We drive out there after work and I walked in and met all these people I didn't know. Me, being my shy self, sat down in a chair in the corner while everybody was talking because I didn't really know what to do or say at all. Her cousin came over to me and he started talking to me, asking me if I was alright and stuff like that.

After awhile I loosened up and was able to talk to her cousin. He got me something to drink and we just sat and talked. We both mentioned that we had this internet friend we were growing feelings for and I thought that was kinda cool, so I asked him who she was and he said "FlyGirl" I was just like *my jaw hangs open* So I asked him what his screen name was and he told "Guitargod" I was like...HOLY SHIT!! Guitargod is the same guy that I had talked to for 2 years and got really close to online and I couldn't believe it! We were each other's Yahoo buddies for 2 years and we never knew it until that point in time. The chemisty between on us online and then in person just intensified. To this day, my husband "Guitargod" and I have been together for 7 years and this July 10th we will be married for 5. I have never been happier or more in love than I have with this man and to this day that is why I suppose I'm so grateful for the internet!

Wow such a sweet story :cleris: You give hope for people like me!

I have a crush on someone who lives far away. We've only chatted on MSN a few times but I'm too shy to do anything other than chat about FF7 :ermm:

My boyfriend and I met at a temple, and he stopped some punk from stabbing me while I was bowing in respect to altar of the dead.

...ok, I'm kidding.

We met through our friends at a convention hotel while we were all arranging to go see a movie before the convention actually started. This July, we'll have officially been together for three years.

I have no girlfriend... :( I've been out of a relationship since September... I guess it's given me time to do my own thing and be able to concentrate on school and work, but I tell ya, it gets awful lonely...

Haha, I don't plan to date until I'm sixteen. :3 Since the purpose of dating is to choose a spouse, I don't see the point of dating when you're thirteen or fourteen. (Seeing sixth graders toting dates really disturbs me, as well. X_x) Also, it's a sort of a guideline in my church, and I follow the guidelines, so....8D Heh, you might hear something from me in two years, but besides "boy drama" (as my friends and I call it :lmao: you would not believe the stories I have to tell, no sirrree...XP) there hasn't been any actual dating activity with me. :3

that was a nice story, hardly do they ever end like that. me, I have no story to tell because I never had a girlfriend or serious relationship before. but I still hold out hope for that lucky some one. =3

that is very commendable of you ^.^ I wish more people would think with sound judgment like that.

Interesting story LadyAerith! I am very happy for you!

As for those still waiting, hang in there the right one will come eventually. Sorry I know that isn't much comfort.

As for me I met my husband in high school. I saw him around a few times and he was friends with a lot of my friends but I really didn't know him. He did take me and my best friend home from school once and I remember finding him funny and having no fear as he would yell out the window at people that he wasn't wearing any pants.

The only other time a remember from high school when he was at my best friend's 16th b-day party and we were all playing truth or dare and he was dared with another guy to go across the street to my house with balloons under there shirts and ask my mother if I was home. They did it and that was the first time he met his then future mother in law.

But I really got to know him in the summer after my freshman year of college. I went to a friend's b-day party(theme I know) and when I saw him I had the strongest feeling..I wouldn't say love at first site(so to speak since I had seen him before) but I knew my life would be different from that moment on. We became best friends, eventually started dating and now have been married almost 4 years with our first child on the way!

Aww! That is SUCH an amazing story LadyAerith!
I'm fond of my story too ^_^ So, I grew up in Utah(yay Mormon!), lived in the same house for 18 years, and was uprooted the day after I graduated highschool to Courtland California.
I was going to church with my family at first(which was pretty lame cuz everyone else was either two years younger than me or four years older), but after a few months started going to a single's branch(which is just a separate ward, or group, for young single adults). On my first day there this guy introduced himself to me, shook my hand, and then walked off.
Over the next few months I defiantly got sweet on him. He'd talk in church and was just SO knowledgeable! And so funny xD But so out of my league. He was five years older than me, and I was shy and self concious(spent all of highschool being turned down)
So, I got to know a cool guy from this forum who lived in Scotland, and we began an internet relationship. During this time, guy from church(James) and his best friend (Dave) were giving me a really hard time about this relationship, and I thought they were just being buttheads.
I went to Scotland to visit my boyfriend, and while I was gone James and Dave and their household discovered that they were going to the wrong branch(your attendance is based on location) so they started going to another branch. I came back, and within a few months had broken up with Scotland guy and was dating a new guy. Then I broke up with the new guy, and a month and a half later James and co. had moved back into the area.
I went to hang out with them after church their first sunday back, and was telling them what'd been up with me while they were gone. James' response was "So..you're single?" Me: "Yep!" James: "Dibs on the rebound!" Turned out he'd liked me all along too! I'd just always had this other guy, and he and his friends were trying to get me to dump him! So we've been dating a year and four months tomorrow and we're aaaalmost engaged(just waiting on him to have enough money for a ring) and planning to marry either December or May 2008

Edit: Forgot to mention, GREAT thread idea!

Man, I feel left out. Everyone here (so far) is either single or have been dating forEVER. lol. I'll share anyways. First off, I'm in high school, just to let you know.

I met my boyfriend early this semester because I had lunch with him and one of my friends, but we never really talked to each other that much. Well, one day, I saw him walking to the same building as me, so we just started talking. I still remember it. lol.
Me: HEY! It's that guy that hangs out with 'Lyssa! (a friend of mine) Can't remember your name for the life of the though.
Him: Jeff. I've seen you, but I don't know your name either.
Me: Ayame (I told him my American name though, I hate it)
Then I heard him mutter under his breath something about remembering it. lol. And coiencidentally (sp?), we had a Pep Rally that same day, so I was going to hang out with 'Lyssa since I barely get the chance, and he was there beckoning us (her and I) to come sit with him. I ask 'Lyssa if it was okay, and she said sure. So that's how we met.

You can laugh if you want, but I felt that I had to ask her if it was okay because she'd known him since like 2nd grade and they've been friends since then, so yeah. May 12th, 2007 will be our three months, and I can't be any happier!

I've been with my fiance for over five years now. I blame ye olde Squaresoft.

LadyAerith - April 18, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
Aww Sefie!! That's such an awesome story! I love hearing how people have met their significant others, especially when it comes to the internet because people don't believe it possible, but it is! It's so romantic and sweet to hear about it and to know that many years later, you're still with them ^_^

Cute. I met my fiancee about... o_o Sometime in September, the end of the month. I had planned to hang out with a friend of mine named Stefani, we all called her Tefi. That night I had spent it over my other friend's [ Kayla ] house, and around noon or so, I texted Tefi, and didn't get anything back. I guess 'cause Nextel really sucks. So I got a shower and changed and everything good like that. I told Kayla, Stiver and the rest of the girls whom were there I'd see them later, and told them I had to go see Tefi now.

So, I started up the Danny Hill [ This huge hill in Slatington, PA. ] God, I hated it, but thankfully it was nice and warm that day. =D! Tank and pants for me. So, I was actually surprised to see that Tefi had brought two other people with her, one I knew and the other I didn't. Amanadalin and Kyle, whom at the time I didn't know Kyle. I was kinda surprised by his' height. Six foot five inches, and I only stood five foot five with heels on. So, Tefi and I started talking, and she didn't say whom the boy was, and we all started walking down the hill again. My arm was around Tefi's shoulders, her arm was around my waist. We headed down to the park and sat around there.

I had my purse with me, and there was a little knife in there. Kyle had this rather long goatee, he said it was like three inches, which I could believe, and I looked at him and said, "Can I cut that off?" And we got into this huge thing, where the rest of the girls jumped in and tried to help me pin him down. However, he ended up jumping up onto the baseball hoop rim, and hung there like a monkey. I was standing under him with my little pocket knife.

Lemme point out, I did NOT like him at all when I first saw him, however, when Tefi and I left, I was strangely attracted to him. I believe it was his blue eyes that did it. o_o After that, I saw Kyle around more and more, and we started hanging out and talking. And eventually he asked me out in the backseat of Tommy's car, when I was leaning up against him, almost laying down in his lap. My only answer to him was, "Damn skippy." And that's when we actually had our first kiss.

[ Before that, we messed with a friend of ours, 'cause he wanted me so badly, but couldn't get me. So, a day before we had said we were going out, and Lazlo told us to make out, so we did. XD I just stared at him weird at first before he moved in. ]

Months later, we're enegaged to be married, and I'm carrying his child. XD What a life!

Kenji and I met at an anime/videogame/manga convention on 13th of March 1999 at Japan (I was having my regular vacations at Japan), when Final Fantasy VII still new back then, we fought over the last Sephiroth figurine, I was really mean at that time with my motto: what I want is what I get and you know what I could never forget?! He whammed me in the head!!! <_< but I won!!!! Haha!!! :P But I didn't like him at the start. He's very cocky and arrogant, and he discriminates me because I'm a girl who plays video games. And then we sorta went out on the computer shop to play WarCraft. And I pwned him, he got mad at me, and you know what he did!? He ran off with my Sephiroth figurine...He didn't return it! Thief.
That was the last time we met when I was fourteen, we were clearly, just friends who annoys each other.
When I came back on July 1999 at Shinjuku, I saw his pathetic face again, on my neighborhood. And this is the time we...uh...got together. he mentioned the Sephiroth figurine and told me that he'll give me back a Tifa one, but I wanted an Aerith, so I demanded for an Aerith. And uh...this may sound corny, but in my birthday that year, he gave me an Aerith figurine and my favourite treat of all, pocky. And yus, we hang out together with his loyal Yuffie loving best friend, Saicho (he's also my source to all my Kenji needs) And soon I developed a crush on him that became love, though I didn't knew that he was already courting me!!! *giggles* At 16th of February 2000, we got together and he's my first boyfriend, I'm her first girlfriend, to those who are curious, first kiss was at the library...XD
Though, we were separated because I have to go back to Korea on the next school year, it was sad, though I'm really happy, that for our long distanced relationship, we managed to keep it up!!!
And then, there is stupid me, who broke up with him January 2007, it was our first ever break up for seven years. But eventually, when I got back on Japan at April 2007, we got together again. I think, my relationship with him, is really great, because I never fallen for any other guy than him, despite the fact we have a long distanced one.
We're planning to get engaged right after I finish my courses. :fangirl:
