Title: Making Websites

I've made a few websites before, but they were always with geocities and they've got those annoying ads that get in the way. I was really hoping to get my own domain, only I know that somehow you have to pay for it. How exactly does that work? And is it possible to get a website, with your own domain without having to pay for it at all?

If not, are there any free webpage hosting sites that won't have those damn annoying ads?

Eh, sorry. All domain names have a price tag. My parents own alot of domain names for about 7 dollars a year. Plus most free site builders aren't very good sadly. If you are willing to spend the money buy a domain name and maybe dream weavers. I tried my best.

99.99999999999999% of free hosts have some form of advertising, and lately alot of them banner ads that are forced on members pagers have spyware and adware along with them. There is a few choices you have.

#1 Find the best free host with minimal advertisments and that does not contain anything malware in nature.

#2 Spend some cash and get a domain, and while getting a domain get webspace for it. A domain can cost as low as $7 a year. While webspace for the domains usually run anywhere from $7 a month to $500 a month. Depending on how much space and what all add-ons come with the space. ie; email account, php support, MySQL Databases (for foums, cms's and the like)

#3 Take a spare computer (or current computer) and turn it into a webserver. Depending on your knowledge in PC's you can have a fully functional webserver with PHP, MySQL, ASP, and a host of other things working in under 10 minutes. This choice is the best as you will have no limitations on what you can do on a website, and of course there is Zero banner ads forced since it's your own personal server.

#4 Finally you can try and find a good person that is willing to host your website on their #2 or #3. Good people are out there, like me, I have my own #3 and i host people all the time... I'm sure someone out there is willing to host you.
