Am I the only one slightly disappointed that the Buster Sword wasn't even Zack's at all? It makes the whole "Cloud leaving said sword that helped him so much in the game to rust as memorial to Zack" in AC kind of pointless.

I guess SE is trying to give it a "legendary sword/passed through the generations" feel. I don't think it makes Cloud's AC scene pointless, but this seems like an unnecessary glorification, IMO. -_- The sword was cool enough when it was just Zack's, when it was a personal memory of Cloud and Zack's. It's not the flipping Excalibur.

Scans from the latest issue of Dengeki PS2 (to be released this Friday) have been uploaded, courtesy poster 678 of the Crisis Core 2ch thread. The article is four pages long.

As previously mentioned, the article reveals the full names of Zack and Angeal. Their full names are Zack Fair and Angeal Hewley. The official romanization of Razaado has also been confirmed as Lazard.

According to Nomura, Zack's name is derived from the term "fair weather", and is intended to contrast with Cloud Strife, while Angeal's name has origins in Greek, and there is also meaning behind it. It seems to be based on hyle, which is Greek for "matter", and is translated as "materia" in Latin.

I'm so excited that they actually kept the purple SOLDIER suit.

I digress. He is a bishounen. Bishounen is not just the usual definition of good looking guys, but good looking guys, that have girly looks. The design fails at making Cloud look manly. Look at Zack, that is what looking good, and manly means.

Besides Cloud, Lau Wong (from Bujingai: The Forsaken City) is also an example of a bishounen.



PS: I am not going to discuss whether Cloud looks manly or not. I was just stating my opinion.
PSS: Designers that intend to create characters that are supossed to look manly, should stop basing those characters on Gackt. That is one of the worst decisions that can be made, in those cases.

He's a bit too pretty even for me, though. I'd say Cloud is a bishie, but not to this extent (and his original FFVII anime artwork doesn't look feminine at all). I felt his prettiness varied through AC--there were some times when he did look kinda manly, but those doe-eyes during the flowerfield scene were begging for a dress. :razz:
