The point of this topic I guess, is to basically tell what you think about the past as in zeris (cloti) wise.
I myself had trouble deciding where I stood until I replied to this one cloti on gaia online

How does that help your cause? zeris doesnt not mean cloti default. It was the past. personally after watching the trailer it made me sad because it doesnt work out in the end for aerith and zack. But what makes me really happy is how aerith picks up from zack. like in the trailer zack says 'only if you go on one date with me' or something along those lines. we can see that aerith says that to cloud in 7 showing that she does like cloud and she is over zack and is able to think about him without getting all attached. in the real world relationships dont work out reguardless of how long or how serious. and no matter how sad it may be sometimes it just doesnt work out. but if square wanted to show aerith and zack why wouldn't they emphasize on them together in advent chidren? whenever it shows them its because cloud is thinking of them. and walking out of the same door does not mean OMG they are in loove! if they were going to get back together why not show them having their own convo without cloud or them holding hands? they dont even walk together. also what I want to say is I think that aerith will always love zack but I'm not saying zeris so listen up

basically I think that since zack was aerith's first love she will always have a place for him in her heart. because he was her first love he taught her how to love someone and she will love him for that. but also in the song it says if I fall in love with someone else. this shows getting over zack and falling in love with cloud.
overall aerith will always love zack but not in the same way as she did originally because she has fallen in love with cloud
I think that square wants to show this whole concept of always loving zack not romatically and then becoming friends in the end : D ....the end

I agreee, CC does nothing for CloTi. It's just like them claiming that LO made CloTi so cannon. Stuff that happens before the game even starts, before Cloud even meets Aeris, has no pertinence on the current LT.

Exactly. How does the ZxA pairing, which everyone knows was canon back when Zack was in SOLDIER, the timeframe the game is based in, help CxT? It doesn't. If it was ZxA in the present, it still wouldn't help CxT. Even if it was stated by Nomura that Zack and Aerith were making Lifestream babies it still wouldn't affect CxT. Only evidence of Cloud's romantic love for Tifa (because we know she loved/loves him romantically) can affect the CxT pairing.

For example, just because Rinoa/Seifer was canon, it didn't make Rinoa/Squall any less canon.

I don't see how this can affect Cloti-ness. Good grief, aren't they grasping for straws if this argument starts popping up in LTDs! :giggle:

I'm sure they wouldn't be using that argument if Tifa's boyfriends throughout her life were touched upon in the games. :rolleyes:

I like to use this argument when it comes to these situations...

Even if Cloud and Tifa did have a hot pr0n video (for example), why wasn't it mentioned before? Why did they suddenly forget? Wouldn't it be important enough to show in the main game to fully interpret their relationship? Was the secks that horrible and so they agreed to forget?? DOES A PAST SEXUAL AFFAIR EVEN MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO THOSE OF THE PRESENT?

Past is past. Feelings change over time. Future games overwite it all in terms of importance and what is happening "now". Just because a prequel is new doesn't mean it take priority when it comes to who loves who. That's like saying if Square made a new game about Cloud watching Tifa's window as a child, canon would be Tifa ignoring Cloud and Cloud wanting to be with her. ZOMG CLOTI IS DIZPROOFEN BECUZ TIFA H8S CLOD.

Uh, maybe because it's canon at the point in time? It's not really hyping it up if it's a canon relationship that happened in the past, it's merely telling us about it. If there was an FF8 prequel where Rinoa was still dating Seifer, would that mean somehow Squall/Rinoa wasn't canon?

I agree. It's all in the past. Let them say whatever the hell they want to. Zeris was cannonized a LONG time ago, but that doesn't make it still cannon now, in the future, while they are both dead. It was also explained very obviously that Aerith no longer has feelings for Zack in that way, but of course, MOTP couldn't be taken seriously by the CloTi's because it was written by Benny Matsumoto (who also wrote that FFVII book that the CloTi's love to mis-translate and use for their own cause).

I couldn't agree more with everyone...I just hate how some people think that AC was a zeris ending and thats why they are making CC to reinforce that. But thats just complete bull...if AC was a Zeris ending wouldnt that empahsize that in AC itself? but anyways thats a bit off topic
