Title: Where Were The Weapons
Description: If we see Omega, where's the others

I just had this stupid idea, if we see Omega why don't we see the other WEAPONs? You'd think they would be awoken by Omega and start gathering souls of people on Gaia. Omega is the ultimate WEAPON, but don't you think it would've revived Diamond, Ruby, Saphire, Emerald and Ultimate? I think that Chaos would try to stop Omega instead of trying to help it. Dr. Cresent, I believe, pointed out that Chaos served as a counter to Omega. It was either Dr. Cresent or Shelke, I really don't remember who pointed that out.

Omega acts as a last resort. The other WEAPONs act as planetary self-defense against threats. See the difference?

Omega is activated once the Planet is starting to think it was going to die. Chaos is supposed to be the its guide (been awhile since I saw DoC, so please correct me).

And since Hojo's real goal is to be the one that will lead all the spiritual energy to the universe, I don't think reviving the other weapons is a practical thing to do (assuming that the Planet can create these things again in a span of three years in the first place).

Correct Anit-R. A lot of times iin the game, we hear the same thing repeated, "Chaos, Omega's squire to the lofty Heavens." So, in other words, Chaos will lead Omega (with the spiritual energy gathered) to a new place, thus destroying Gaia.

Also, Buster Blader, considering you can battle and defeat nearly all the weapons in the original game, what would be the point of bringing them back in a sequel 3 years later? They weren't something one could summon with a Materia, they were the planets defense.

I never wondered about the Weapons, since they were defeated in the original game. But, I did wonder why there was no reaction from Aerith considering how much fooling-around they did with the Lifestream...

It's probably because Aerith can't communicate with Vincent or Shelke or Cait Sith or Reeve or Cid.

I suppose they could've had Cloud act as Aerith's messenger to Vincent, but that would've been yet another nail in the CloTi coffin ;)

And give Lucrecia a moment to shine?

Anyways, if Aerith has to talk anyone, it's Cloud. And since Cloud has very minimal role...

FF_Goddess - January 30, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
Well, I didn't mean for Aerith to communicate with anyone. However, we all know that Aerith has the ability to control the Lifestream to some extent. Why didn't she interfere when they were using it? Was she somehow unable to? I mean, they were draining the Lifestream from the planet and preparing to take it away. Aerith is part of that Lifestream. Why didn't she do anything? :ermm:

Angelalex242 - January 30, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
A couple theories:

1:Draining the Lifestream drains Aerith herself. Rather like wounding the planet would wound Aerith herself.
2:It's Vincent's game and SE just plain forgot Aerith was capable of doing tremendous good from beyond the grave.

BusterBlader - January 30, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
Maybe Aeris asked Dr. Cresent for help. She probably knew from listening to Vincent that they were close to each other. But the problem is that Dr. Cresent doesn't have the power the Cetra like Aeris. I think through the data fragments in Shelke's mind, Dr. Cresent, some way could communicate w/ Vincent. I see your points about the WEAPONs, it probably took a long time timee for the Planet to create the WEAPONs. But wouldn't Deepground try to go to the Northern Crater where Jenova crashed into the Planet? It seems logical for two reasons: 1. The Planet had been trying to heal it's self by gathering the Lifestream to the wound. 2. The WEAPONs were set there by the Planet to make sure that Jenova couldn't get out, so it seems logical that Omega would be located where Emerald, Ruby, Saphire, Diamond and Ultimate were placed. But then again Omega was able to awaken in Midgar at Mako Reactor 0 because of the greatest concentration of the Lifestream that was gathered by Deepground.

Maybe Aerith knew Vincent can handle it?

Or maybe this time, Holy wasn't there?

I was under the impression that Aerith can't control everything or do something spontaneously when an immediate threat arises, or else she could have cured the Geostigma disease way before AC. The Lifestram is a vast... ocean... after all. All those collected consciousness to boot.

I mean it's hard enough to manage on your own a roomful of people. Imagine a whole planet.

BusterBlader - February 1, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
Why would Holy need to be there? It's not like Omega was going to summon Meteor like Sephiroth did at the Northern Crateor. Thought it is possible and I'm not going to rule it out as a possibility. I think that Holy returned to the Planet after Meteorfall. I still say that Omega could've resserected the WEAPONs and they could've done the same thing Chaos would do if they weren't awoken by the Black Materia. But then again how Omega wake the WEAPONs up without the Black Materia?

Um... the other weapons don't show up because Cloud and crew destroyed them three years previous...
