Title: Moving Sigs

What programs do you use to make sigs that move?
Aka sigs that show first one image...then another...then another...and then go back to the very first image, starting all over again?

Do you mean animated gifs?

I use Microsoft Gif Animator and Paint Shop Pro with Animation Shop. (MGA is free however, and is good for beginners.)

 I hope that answers your question. ^^

I use the PSP program as well... It's called Animation Shop. Version depends on which version of PSP you get of course.

ImageReady can be used, although it's expensive. I heard GIMP (which is free, IIRC) is also useful to make animated GIFs.

I use ImageReady with my gifs. Very easy to use. ^_^

Just to confirm, I was talkin' 'bout sigs like this one Lynn made. :P So I can make them with ImageReady?

Lynn - January 25, 2007 12:41 PM (GMT)
Aieee, that sig! *nostalgic* :woot:

Yep, I made that one using ImageReady. What I did was screencapture each scene I needed using VirtualDub (apparently IR has the ability to capture such frames, but it's broken in my version), added the subtitles using Photoshop and animated it using ImageReady.

I've always been curious on how people make sigs with the moving images from the games, movies, etc... that is so cool and I'd love to learn how to do that

Lucky I posted this topic then :)

One last query...^_^'how can I get it to replay? I made one last night, saved it as HTML, but it only played once. Will it automatically replay if I post it as a sig?

P.S. Lynn, about that sig you made...what does 'totli out' mean?0_o

Lynn - January 31, 2007 07:26 AM (GMT)
"totli out" = l337-speak for "totally out".

...Hey, I don't make this stuff up. Society does.

I haven't touched ImageReady in a long time, so I can't remember the exact placement. But there should be an option in the window with the animation frames that allows you to loop your gif. That way, it'll play indefinitely. Otherwise, it'll only play once everytime you load the image.

For making a.gif with IR, I save all the images into a folder (with ONLY the images I want to use in it) and then start up IR, go to File > Import > Folder as Frames. This opens the folder and puts every image in it into the animation box. From there you can set the time each image stays up for, how many time the .gif plays, the order of the images etc.

I hope that helps ^^;
