I'm going to make my first music video, the love of Cloud and Aerith being the theme. ^^ I have THE ENTIRE AC MOVIE on file and I'm dying to make a video. I want to make a video that people will want to see, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the song I should use.

As you can probably tell from my song selections thus far...I was going for the more bittersweet-sounding songs, using primarily piano or strings. If you have other suggestions or input, please share! :cleris:

Well, I'm pretty picky with songs I'm making videos of, so I won't suggest one to you. A song just has to get to me and scream in my face "Make a music video with me." Good to see you're not that restricted :lol: .

However for your first video I would suggest you DON'T use instrumental songs. Slow songs are incredibly harder to work with then fast songs whose beats and so make it clear where to put the editing, while slow songs tempt a lot to use long slow scenes which makes the video really really boring. Typical newbie mistake - yes, I'm guilty of that, too...

That doesn't mean you should use some fast action oriented song...beware... Use something that has lyrics which give you some idea how to portrat their love. With lyrics to follow your video becomes much more organized and structured and you can orient your editing on them way better than on instrumental songs.

Believe me instrumental videos are the hardest you could do and they are screwed so often. If you want to however, just jump into it. This is about fun not about how to approach it best.

Thank you for your advice, Sternenstaub! I suppose that for a romantic, bittersweet video I don't necessarily have to choose a slow instrumental song. I never really thought of that, so I'll take that into consideration. I don't want to make it difficult for myself, as it's my first time making a video.

I think I've narrowed a few songs down. I'm still open for comments or for those who would like to offer advice. I could really use it and it would be greatly appreciated. However, I won't reveal my choice until I post the video here. ^^ It'll be a surprise.
