Aurora - Beatrix


OK, I'll start.

Beatrix ran through a thick grove, branches scratching at her arms. Sword in hand, she attempted to slash her way through. "Your majesty!" she cried in anguish. "Where are you?!"

The forest was dark and she could barely see. The only light that guided her was the full moon above. Out of breath and arms bleeding, Beatrix was determined and trudged along. I must find the queen!! she thought frantically. Who knows what danger she could be in! She had no idea how long she had been running. The night seemed never-ending. Fatigued and exhausted, she fell to the ground. I just need a minute...

Where could the possibly be?! Beatrix had no idea how she had even got there. For all she knew, the queen could be a million miles away.

But she hadn't mistaken those footsteps in the dirt. They were small and with delicate feminine steps, the footsteps of a young woman. She had to keep trying. After hours of running through forests, she had seen no sight of living beings besides trees. There must be some civilization somewhere nearby! How much longer could she go without food?

Sighing, Beatrix got up and paced herself. She squinted through the dark woods, and blinked. Was the darkness playing a trick on her?

A bright light shown far away from her through the forest. Could it be a town? A campfire?

Beatrix ran faster, but as she did, she heard a noise in the bushes nearby.

Halting to a stop, she held out her Save the Queen and awaited for whatever it was to show itself. "Who's there?"
