I've never seen it either. Looks stupid to me.
But uh... j-pop artists. Right. You probably know Ayumi Hamasaki? I love her music. So meaningful, from soft ballads to hard rock. Try looking up the songs from her new album like '~Jewel', '1LOVE', and 'Kiss o Kill'.

Indie eh? I'll recommend old school stuff first. Okay, check out Blur (Coffee and T.V is love), Stereophonics (Dakota is the only good song they've released in the last few years, and their latest album wasn't very good, but in the nineties they released some great songs) Garbage, The Verve and Radiohead (though for these last two it depends. They can both get a bit whiny, if you ask me.)
Newer stuff worth a look - the new Take That song 'Patience', The Kooks, Kasabian are okay, um... Muse are still going and are always a solid choice, as are my first loves Placebo. Try Panic! At the Disco if you haven't already, or Snow Patrol, or Franz Ferdinand.
As for J-Pop, Utada Hikaru's new album is awesomeness. Maaya Sakamoto is great too, and so are Ayumi Hamasaki and Chihiro Onitsuka. Check out The Brilliant Green too, they're sweet. Tsukiko Amano is a favourite of mine but she's more J-Rock.

No matter how cheesy a movie is, it eventually rubs off on you when you've been forced to watch it 15 times with your 10 year old cousins.
Trust me, Ashley Tisdale's music career has nothing to do with High School Musical.
Oh, and a good J-pop song is GO MY WAY by hitomi.

Cool, I just dowloaded it. XD
How about J-Rock? I was just listening to the FLCL soundtrack and I really like The Pillows...does anyone know anything else that's good?

If you're looking for J-pop and J-rock music, there were some recommendations that were made in this
thread here, Aurora.
You can look through it, and if there's anything you'd like but can't find...I might be able to help you with it ^.~

 I didn't see that thread. Thank you Hades' Daughter. :huggle: It's nice to hear different J-pop artists other than Ayumi and Hikari. (Personally I don't think Ayumi is that good. XD Don't bite meh) I do like her song "Moments" though. I dunno, maybe I just haven't heard her more recent albums yet? Jeez, how many does she have!? XD
:hyper: ZOMGYUKARI. I never heard of The Verve until you told me about it, and I just downloaded their whole album today AND THEY ARE AWESOME. I think I'm officially obsessed. XDDD I also listen to a lot of Panic! at the Disco and Snow Patrol.
An indie group I recently got into is Arctic Monkeys. Has anyone ever heard of them?
And thanks to everyone for the suggestions!
